Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

I woke gagging this morning, had a dry cracker, lay feeling sorry for myself for about half an hour and then eventually had some toast which helped. I couldn't sleep last night as all I could smell was what we'd had for tea and it made me feel horrible. Have been doing weekly photos and I'm definitely getting bigger but it looks like fat as opposed to hard. Is this normal or am I just getting fat? I'm usually an 8-10

I'd love an early scan, been stressing so much that Im expecting triplets (dont ask - damn pregnancy brain!!!!) but DH thinks its a stupid idea coz well be getting a free one in 3 weeks time anyway...huh. So annoying but hey gives me something to look forward to during these horrendous weeks :( ! Really feel for you all with the morning sickness, it is hell!!! I've got my first appointment tomorrow, I'm 8+3 today so thats pretty exciting Grin

@monipop84 I’m from Oxfordshire Smile

Chivari · 30/08/2018 10:23

We are the same @CrystalBlaze @donna474 @purplestar9 @TheMagicTorch

Done it a few times but I think we both need to get used to it! I worry that I will somehow dislodge the baby from my womb with all the jiggyness 😂😂

TheMagicTorch · 30/08/2018 10:56

@Chivari I have the same worry!! A few times in the past we've DTD then I started my period like the next morning so I get a bit paranoid he's going to dislodge the baby 😂 honestly think we go a bit mad when pregnant!!

Same @donna474 I haven't made it out of bed yet this morning... woke up feeling so sick so put my sickness bands on and ate a few ginger nuts in bed... still can't face getting up 🙊

unicornxo · 30/08/2018 15:52

Hi all

Went for my early scan today and don't know if to be happy or not. We saw a strong HB on external scan but baby is measuring only 6 weeks and not 7. I know I should be 7 as I was tracking ovulation and had a strong positive quite early. I have googled and people say baby can catch up but I just feel so worried now. Especially after a previous MMC but they never detected a HB then. Ahhh I wish I never went today and just waited!!

mumof1willbe2 · 30/08/2018 16:39

@unicornxo I had the same thing happen to me when I went for my scan earlier this week. I should of been 6 weeks 5 days but got measured at 6 weeks. I'm sure everything is fine and when you go for your next scan the baby would of caught up

unicornxo · 30/08/2018 16:54

@mumof1willbe2
Thank you.. That makes me feel better. Did you see a heart beat external too? The lady wasn't very helpful and just kind of rushed it so that didn't help.

Chivari · 30/08/2018 20:49

Good evening ladies. How are you all? Welcome to the newcomers!

Need a bit of a pick me up this evening 😕 So I wake up in the morning and feel ok, if a little sick but it's manageable. Morning is ok - slight nausea. Then the afternoon hits, around 2pm. I get extremely tired and start to feel quite sick. This then lasts all evening, progressively getting worse. The tiredness is almost unmanageable. I feel like I am coming down with the flu by 8.30pm! Anyway, it's making me feel a bit low. Not sure whether thats the hormones or tiredness Finding it hard 😕

CrystalBlaze · 30/08/2018 21:56

Ah @Chivari I'm sorry you're feeling rotten. It's horrible especially when you feel so rough and have to keep it secret from everyone. Have you found anything that helps at all?

mumof1willbe2 · 30/08/2018 22:05

@unicornxo yeah we seen a heartbeat❤️ I had a lovely lady who said everything is looking fine even though I thought I was further along than she told me. Everything will be fine with you :)

Chivari · 30/08/2018 22:12

Thanks @CrystalBlaze nothing particularly helps other than when I eat a big meal. I tried ginger tea today which kind of worked but need to give it more of a go. How are you feeling?

Meant to have our DN staying this weekend. But she never sleeps properly and is a little bit of a madam. Never stops and definitely won't get her in to bed before 10.30pm. Not sure I can handle it this weekend!

vicki6356 · 31/08/2018 07:13

I’ve resulted to eating stem ginger. It doesn’t taste the best but it seems to take the edge of the sickness 😊

donna474 · 31/08/2018 09:09

Since yesterday I have the driest lips, feel really tight and chapped. I'm drinking lots of water, more than I ever did pre pregnancy (probably around 3 litres). Not sure if I'm dehydrated or just a symptom. Anyone else had this?

OP posts:
TheMagicTorch · 31/08/2018 10:34

@donna474 I've been like that for about a week -as if I'm hungover and need cold fluids. According to Dr Google excess saliva and dry mouth are both regular pregnancy symptoms. Helpful 😂

Chivari · 31/08/2018 10:57

Me too @donna474 but I find if I drink too quickly I feel more sick!

Completely with you on the hungover feeling @TheMagicTorch that's how I described how I was feeling this morning to my DH!

CrystalBlaze · 31/08/2018 10:59

Glad ginger is helping slightly @Chivari and @vicki. I feel cautiously ok! Still sore boobs, still bloated. Could only manage one of two gym classes today because I was too exhausted. Could smell a bin lorry from the other end of the street earlier.

But I don't feel sick at all. Touch wood. Glad but also worried it means something is wrong! Pregnancy is a minefield.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 31/08/2018 11:06

Painful boobs, bloating, and a bit of nausea here. 8+5. Been sick three times but not for a week or so... which is nice. Cautiously hoping that bit is over. Definitely feeling the excess saliva though. And so so tired! I've been napping after work most of this week while lovely DH makes me dinner!

donna474 · 31/08/2018 11:46

My abdomin is definitely expanding due to bloat and what not. I'm also noticing it is getting softer due to my current diet. I can't stomach vegetables other than peas and the most fruit I'm eating is mainly apples. My diet has gone from relatively healthy veg and protein to basically just carb based. I'm living on bread and potatoes and feeling fat and frumpy. I have recently heard of something called 'fruit jerky' which I'm going to go hunting for today. When I first found out I was pregnant I was eating really well but with nausea and tiredness nothing healthy is appealing to me and my waistline is going to take a beating

I hear ya on the thirst, I’m guzzling water at work. I’m very, very light headed but it’s very bad in the mornings. Making working at a desk difficult. Had slight nausea but no vomiting yet, feeling it’s not far off. The tiredness is something else, sleeping 10 hours a night & a nap during day if I’m off. Finding it difficult to hide from people but I’m 6 weeks so wayyy too early to tell anyone.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 31/08/2018 18:13

God I look massive, honestly think I look like I did at 16 weeks last time and am only 7 weeks! Not sure how I’ll keep it a secret for long, my boobs are massive too.

Chivari · 31/08/2018 18:28

Oh god the sickness is really horrible tonight! Felt a bit sicky all day but since I have been home I think I'm almost at a point of being sick 🤢🤢🤢 ahhhhhh 😕😕

donna474 · 31/08/2018 19:09

@Chivari that sucks. I'm tucked up in bed watching pitch perfect 2 for some guilty pleasure whilst SO is out. At least it's the weekend now!

OP posts:
purplestar9 · 31/08/2018 20:02

@CrystalBlaze I've heard a few people say they had pregnancies with no sickness, I'm being positive and saying my pregnancy is going to be like that! Haha.

The only thing really affecting me at the moment is a bad back! Although I did have a nap this afternoon so maybe I'm more tired than I think! And I'm not sleeping well... although I'd put up with these constantly to not have any sickness!

Chivari · 01/09/2018 09:12

Thanks @donna474 tonic water seems to help a little. Can't stay up behind 8.30pm though 🙈
