To anyone that has had a sweep, how long did you spot for afterwords? Had mine on Thursday morning and while I expected to have some spotting, it’s still going on today. Don’t know if this is the norm or not.

@snowy1982 I had a sweep Monday and spotted till yesterday xx

bluees · 08/09/2018 23:24

M having induction tomorrow. Dr said they will put pessary in. Will wait for 24 hours fo labour to start in. Else another pessary. Feeling very nervous 😟

niclw · 08/09/2018 23:35

@bluees Good luck for tomorrow. I hope it all goes wellThanks

Sushirolls · 08/09/2018 23:47

Good luck for tomorrow @bluees Flowers x

billystrikes2 · 08/09/2018 23:55

@bluees I'm being induced tomorrow too 😬 and also very nervous. I was 1cm on Monday so hoping that if I'm 2cm they will skip the pessary and go straight to breaking my waters. Although I think that's just wishful thinking! Good luck Thanks

Sushirolls · 09/09/2018 01:55

Good luck to you too @billystrikes2 Flowers

niclw · 09/09/2018 06:19

@billystrikes2 Good luck to you too Thanks

snowy1982 · 09/09/2018 07:36

Good luck @billy and @bluees, hope the inductions go nice and quickly for you both. And thanks for the reassurance @billy, that makes me feel better Smile

Came to hospital for induction to antenatal rooms. When midwife checked i am already 3 cm dilated. Now waiting to move to labour ward where they will break water. Should I squat or move around to make things faster and easier.

Sushirolls · 09/09/2018 13:48

I'd get walking, squatting and bouncing on the ball... Good luck @bluees 🤞 Flowers xo

BlueBug45 · 09/09/2018 14:04

@bluees insist on an active birth and get your partner to back you up as it hurts much less.

I kept being forced onto a bed on my back to be monitored and it bloody hurt.

There as when I was allowed to use a birthing ball or even lean on the window/my OH I was fine. (You aren't really suppose you bounce on birthing balls but use controlled movements as you risk popping it.)

billystrikes2 · 09/09/2018 14:12

Not going so well here. Have just had the pessary which was less than pleasant, and was then informed that it could be up to 4 days before I'm moved up to delivery to have waters broken, even if I'm ready before then as they are so busy. Midwife says that September is always so busy as people get it on over Xmas and are all due around now Winkdon't think I'll cope on this ward for 4 days so I just hope something happens naturally before then!

snowy1982 · 09/09/2018 15:06

@bluees, I don’t how true this is, but I was told that once in labour not to bounce on the ball but to sit on it and move in a circular or figure of 8 motion, that is supposed to be encourage dilation. Was told this by pregnancy yoga teacher but am pretty sure the MW in antenatal classes said something about it as well.

So dr checked again and said cervix is not ready yet so put pessary in for 24 hours. Monitoring baby for 30 mins. And then moving me back to antenatal. Now all I have to do is wait, move, walk, use gym ball, stairs etc Hmm

LucyLou19 · 09/09/2018 21:19

Girls-I’m so desperate for this baby to come!!!!! Tried everything, fed up xx

snowy1982 · 09/09/2018 21:34

@bluees, that’s very annoying, just keep as active as you can, but also make sure and get some rest when possible

Same @lucy 😳 week over tomorrow and just losing the will! Have tried every home remedy etc and nada! Sick of everyone asking “no baby yet” “where’s this baby” “u still not away yet” 😡no Sally Ann obviously fucking not 😡 just being rude to people now so avoiding going out 🙄

bluees · 09/09/2018 23:28

Been on monitor. Cant move much. Just broke water. Still 4 cm dialated. In so much pain. .

BlueBug45 · 10/09/2018 03:29

@bluees see if they will allow you to be on the birth ball, or stand and lean on your partner instead of being on your back to be monitored. I had to fight for this before I got on to the labour ward. Also get a midwife to adjust the bed. Doctors tend to put you in a really uncomfortable position

LucyLou19 · 10/09/2018 07:38

I honestly think sex is the only thing proven to work but it’s Worked for me! Thankfully I’ve not reached due date yet xx

bluees · 10/09/2018 09:59
