Hope it goes well for you @ichifanny Flowers

DD would have to have a GA as she's unable to have an epidural. Though they did mention another drug recently, began with an R? I can't remember what it's called. Not sure if that can be used with a section though. X

LucyLou19 · 05/09/2018 17:38

The recovery after a c section is a hell of a lot longer and harder then a normal
Birth so I would say she’s best of pushing for Normal if your gonna be having an op too xx

snowy1982 · 05/09/2018 17:52

@sushirolls, your daughter does not have to have sweeps if she’d rather not, a lot of people don’t have them, I am still undecided about whether to have one tomorrow or not.

I had a midwife appt last Friday at 38+3 and was offered a sweep for my next appt which will be 40+3. I've declined but my midwife said she would ask again when she sees me anyway as I'll probably want one by then. She was quite insistent that I should have one but I'll be declining unless I get absolutely desperate. I also won't be accepting induction unless the baby is at risk. My theory is baby will come when it's ready. Obviously might change my mind as time progresses but I'm not in favour of intervention.

Stellarbella · 05/09/2018 19:33

Getting ready for my c section tomorrow as well 😬😬. Absolutely terrified.

Mrshunterx · 05/09/2018 23:08

She was born at half 4 this afternoon emergency c section 6pounds 4oz!
I'm so in love and was so worth it.

Good luck everyone xx

Had my sweep, cervix is soft but ‘very’ closed Sad

Also, does anyone know what a Bishop score is? Well I think it’s bishop score, definitely bishop something beginning with an ‘sc’. Mine is 3 apparently

OP posts:
niclw · 06/09/2018 11:32

@snowy1982 I believe that it's an indication of how ready your cervix is for an induction and therefore whether at that moment it is likely to be successful or not. The lower the bishops score, the less likely induction will be successful. I believe that the recommendation is that when you have a score of 5 or less that it is best to wait before inducing so the cervix has more time to become ready. So your score would suggest waiting a few more days. What I've said here is only based on what I've read though.

snowy1982 · 06/09/2018 11:44

@niclw, I did some reading there after posting and it said the same thing, they never book you in for induction before 40 + 10 in my trust (obvs unless there is an emergency) and they always book you in for one just in case it’s needed so the score doesn’t really change the plans. It’s just disappointing as I would really prefer to avoid an induction

OP posts:
niclw · 06/09/2018 11:56

@snowy1982 is good that your trust won't book you in for induction yet. Around my area they book you in as soon as you reach 40 weeks unless you refuse. There is a good chance that you won't need an induction anyway so try to keep positive. Things can change very quickly. A friend of mine was booked in for induction and then delivered the day before as baby was suddenly ready. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it all begins naturally for you x

snowy1982 · 06/09/2018 12:03

I may keep bouncing on my bloody ball Grin

OP posts:
niclw · 06/09/2018 12:08

I keep doing the same. I've been advised to kneel and lean over mine as baby was back to back on Friday 😬 but my boobs keep getting in the way particularly as they've got bigger in the last week.

snowy1982 · 06/09/2018 12:47

I’m not back to back, more back to side so I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors to try and move bubs a bit Smile

Hi everyone! I'm being induced on Sunday at 38+1 due to baby size (est 9lb already) and a decrease in movements. I'm absolutely terrified!!

LucyLou19 · 07/09/2018 15:40

Hope it’s quick for you xx

Sushirolls · 07/09/2018 16:19

Congratulations @MrsHunterx 🎉 Flowers

I hope all went well @ichifanny & @stellarbella Flowers

DGS is due tomorrow and DD went to see her consultant this morning & was offered a sweep which she declined. If DGS still isn't here by next Friday, She will see her mw & will have a sweep then. Her consultant also booked her in for an induction for 20th if he isn't here, when she will be 12 days overdue.

Sushirolls · 07/09/2018 16:20

Good luck @billystrikes2 🤞 x
