Had a very unreassuring midwife appt this morning. She was feeling to see the position of the baby. Two weeks ago she said head was down, the growth scan showed head was down last week but this morning she couldn't find the head!??? After about 5 mins of prodding and umming and ahhring over whether baby was breach or not she decided that its head was just very low down - she thinks! It left me feeling unsure about things and now I've got it in my head that if it I go into labour early that baby may breach and I'm worrying. I've been feeling pressure down quite low for the last few days and also like I'm being head butted down there so I'm trying to go off my gut instinct instead of midwifes lack of reassurance but it's still in my head. I won't see her till two weeks time so I can't get her to check again. Why do these people not consider what they are saying before blurting out things? If she had just carried on prodding and then said head was very low, I wouldn't be worrying!

Booked in for c sections? Ah that seems like a scary thought that we are close enough for that now.

@Stellarbella Did they say that baby might suddenly turn so they would check again before the c section or is it definite now? I'm not sure how these things work?

Sushirolls · 17/08/2018 17:38

Thank you @Poptart4 & @niclw ... niclw, I hope your mum manages to enjoy her holiday & your little one hour kids on! Re baby's head being down low, DD had the same thing at her last appt, his head is very low now in her pelvis & She's had the heavy and stabbing feelings from DGS engaging. Re C-section for a breech baby, if all areas are the same & nothing has changed over the years.. I was booked as my youngest DD was breech & they scanned me the morning, before I went down. Usually, they would scan & cancel if baby has moved, but I was at high risk of needing an emcs so we went ahead.

@Stellarbella & @ichifanny - good luck to you both, with yours Flowers

How exciting, it's getting very close to you all meeting your little ones 💕

Sushirolls · 17/08/2018 17:40

*holds on (stupid phone)

Stellarbella · 17/08/2018 17:46

Yes, I think if he turns they will cancel the c section, but it’s unlikely as he’s been breech forever. Had to have an MRI today to investigate the headaches. That was a scary experience!

ichifanny · 17/08/2018 17:52

Yep we are nearly there I’m having my baby just after 37 weeks so a bit early as I had a T incision on previous section so can’t risk going into labour .

BlueBug45 · 17/08/2018 19:20

2 weeks and 2 days before I'm to be induced though baby's head isn't engaged.

Flamingo84 · 18/08/2018 09:38

Well my waters broke this morning! I’m 37+6 but no pain or contractions yet.

Midwife said I can wait until 6pm and if no contractions by then they’ll assess me and I may have to be induced. That was the only thing I wanted to avoid! Oh well, I’ve got a few hours to get him moving.

Katjolo · 18/08/2018 10:08

@Flamingo84- exciting!

bluees · 18/08/2018 11:00

@Flamingo84 good luck. So excited 😆

snowy1982 · 18/08/2018 12:26

Good luck @flamingo84, I’ll keep my fingers crossed baby starts to move on their own

Thanks all, still no contractions (or even a bit of period pain!).

I’m leaking like a tap though and my bump looks smaller. He’s wiggling around so I just hope he was still in birth position when my waters went. I read that once the cushion of the extra fluid has gone they can’t move around as well.

He has about 5 hours to start making his way towards the exit!

bluees · 19/08/2018 00:48

Hope u n baby bith are fine

billystrikes2 · 19/08/2018 01:02

Good luck flamingo84! Hope all is well. I'm due 22nd sept. Had a growth scan at 34 weeks and estimated 6lbs 4oz then! Think we're all growing big babies! Have been told I won't be able to go over due date.

I'm so ready to have this baby now! Mega bad pgp and just generally feeling like crap!!

Flamingo84 · 19/08/2018 11:02

Hi ladies! Well DS decided that he was definitely not going to be induced! He was born yesterday at 7.40pm weighing 5lbs 13oz.

I started getting contractions at 4.30pm that were immediately less than 2 mins apart! I called the unit and they said to come back to be assessed. By the time I got there I was 7cm dilated and needing to push. Luckily I got in the pool in time and had him after about 2 hours of pushing!

The midwives were all shocked as it was my first baby, and they’ve all said I should have a home birth on the next! 😂

snowy1982 · 19/08/2018 11:04

Congratulations @flamingo84 hope you and DS are both doing well Grin
