Higglebottom Frecklepot for a boy and Igglypibbly Fluffybutton for a girl

WelshBoris · 29/05/2007 19:47

You copied Frecklebottom off me SD

Bouquetsofdynomite · 29/05/2007 19:48

My kids are Lyra and Noah. Lyra's a bit like Lola but more literary.

If I were allowed another I'd like Kurt or Nancy (but wouldn't be allowed them either).

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/05/2007 19:49

Loving Igglypibbly

Bugger I've just outed myself haven't I? Hope nobody I know is on here or they'll know my MN name. Damn my fetish for unusual names.

WelshBoris · 29/05/2007 19:53

I also like Solomon and Sonny for a boy.

SOOOO many boys names, the only girls one I liked is Madison.

Good job I'm not having anymore really!

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/05/2007 19:54

I really like Lyra, just mentioned it to DH and he didn't say no!

Didn't say yes either

Heh Bodders and Mrsmc! My DD was going to be Lola... until Kate Moss had her baby just before me, and called her Lila... so for some reason we decided against it! I really do like it still... but think it is a bit more common now. Sara Cox keeps going on about her DD Lola on her radio show... drives me insane...

Bouquetsofdynomite · 29/05/2007 20:13

Buy the book and you'll both fall in love with Lyra! (Or even get the CDs and go for some loooong drives together.)

tegan · 29/05/2007 20:15

I have Tegan and Sidney but I love Kendal, Kennedy, keesley, preston, parker and cole all good names for boys and girls.

Bodkin · 29/05/2007 20:22

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about Sara Cox (being a staunch Radio 2 fan ) but you're right, it is very irritating. Think that's probably put the kybosh on that one for me then.

Other girl's names in the ring are Rosa, April, Eliza, Ivy, and Myrtle (well, I know the last 2 are out as DP hates them, but am hoping he will have a change of heart when he sees what I've been through to get her out! Boys name I'm keeping close to my chest for some weird superstitious reason that even I can't fathom...

NuttyMuffins · 29/05/2007 20:25

Lauren Amy
Chloe Eloise
Harry Thomas

Also like for a boy :

Joseph, Charlie and Elliot

huskygirl · 29/05/2007 20:25

I have 1 dd who is Marli Jennifer.

Expecting 2nd child in 8 weeks, so far have:

Girls
Cody
Casey
Chloe
Kaelyn (pronnounced kaylin)
Olivia

Boys
Ryan Samuel
Zak
Scott
stuck after these! Love a lot of the suggestions on here though.

We too have imagined shouting the childrens names out, as if calling them in from playing or something and I was wondering how it would be with both names ending in eeeee sound. still wondering so not sure if we'll go for Kaelyn in the end, only thing putting us off this is when my dad remarry's my step sisters name is Kayleigh. Dont see them that much though tbh

honeyapple · 29/05/2007 20:26

Bodkin- Kind of with your DP on Ivy and Myrtle . I think Rosa is lovely.
Do you think you are having a boy then? You didnt find out on the scan though...right?

babyblue2 · 29/05/2007 20:27

We've got 2 dd's, called: Amy, Rosie

izzybiz · 29/05/2007 20:32

I have a Toby Christopher and an Isabelle Amy.

My nieces and nephews are Felicity, Gracie, Freya, libby, Reggie and Fraser.

If I ever have another Id like Phoebe or Madeline, or George or Reuben.

Hopeitwontbebig · 29/05/2007 20:33

Bouquet, I've read his dark materials, I know what you mean!

Lyra is a very pretty name.

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 29/05/2007 20:34

DS is Jamie Aidan, DD is Emily Nicole.

Didn't think of another name for DS but had thought of Eve and Gwen for DD.

Bodkin · 29/05/2007 20:36

Love Rosie, baby blue, but we kind of blew it by using Rose for DD1s middle name. Thought we might be able to get away with Rosa if this one is a girl though...

Honeyapple - thought for a long time it was a boy, now I'm thinking it's a girl! i think with the boys name I just reeeeeaaaallly like it and don't want anyone else using it [bonkers selfish pregnancy paranoia emoticon]! So you think Ivy and Myrtle are out too eh? I suppose there is something of the mad grandma about them isn't there

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 29/05/2007 20:36

My niece is Isabel Beatrice. Loved that as a middle name as it was my DH's grandma, SIL used it before we had our girl tho.

I love Rosie too, but she's a little bugger

babyblue2 · 29/05/2007 21:12

I quite like Freddie for a boy, I think may be cos dad is called Fred but he's also called Uncle Freddie by his nieces which is kinda cute imo

lfm · 29/05/2007 23:40

My son is called Saul and I love it but rarely see it on any of the threads - even biblical ones which have all the others - maybe just everyone else is too polite to say it stinks as a name!!!!

eidsvold · 30/05/2007 01:25
