Pregnancy 12 week + post IVF/infertility - general chat and support

I thought I would start a thread for those of us pregnant post IVF/infertility. There are lots of pregnancy clubs on Mumsnet but it feels like a slightly different experience having got here the hard way!

I've put 12 weeks + because there is another group for women who have just got their BFPs. That is such an anxious time and definitely needs support.

But I thought this group might pick us up a little further along - over the first panic but still learning about the experience.

Not being exclusive tho - if you think this is the group for you, come along in...

So come and join us if you would like to xxx

Thank you everyone. I think she is changing her type of movement so will keep an eye on that.

@Janefx40 good news. Nice to see baby today too 😊 xx

Fox23 · 23/11/2018 15:01

@Liverpool19 how did it go today? Any closer to being a mum?
@Janefx40 that’s soooo good to hear, that your baby is within good size range!! How are you feeling otherwise?
@Beherenow32 I agree with Janefx40 that it’s worth giving Triage a call if you have any concerns. I did once, and all was ok. They just hook you up to monitors for an hour and it gives you such a peace of mind.
@Barcelo18 any news? How are you feeling?

Liverpool19 · 23/11/2018 15:31

jane that’s good news about the size!!
Sweep was fine she was able to reach my cervix easier and got two fingers in to stretch she said 🤮 I’ve been for a walk round the park and up a hill 😂😂 getting a few niggles and a bit of back pain but not sure if that’s to do with the walk 🤷🏼‍♀️ Time will tell. Bags are in the car just incase 😂

Barcelo18 · 23/11/2018 16:23

@beherenow32 I would go and get checked just for your peace of mind really. I stopped feeling movement also at around the same time but it turned out he had changed position and was back to my belly so I wasn’t feeling the kicks I had before. I’ve not felt them a lot since but feel movements like wriggling. Scan went ok today he has put on weight and is now estimated at 6 ibs 2 0zs. My pcr levels are still high and I have positives in my urine but nothing yet in my blood or bp. The consultant measured the Doppler levels and said it was difficult as he was wriggling around a lot today but the first was the high side of normal while the other two were ok. I am back Tuesday for a Doppler check and scan but she has written in my notes if there are any concerns from now on regarding my Doppler levels or bp that the baby is to be delivered. So im back home once again but it all sounded quite positive today x

Janefx40 · 23/11/2018 22:39

@Barcelo18 I'm glad you are feeling positive and your baby is now such a healthy weight!

Annoyingly I had my scan today and I still have a very low placenta. Pretty annoyed as means I will have to have c section and likely to be early. Was hoping to avoid her having a Xmas or new year birthday. I know the main thing is to have a healthy baby but it will take some adjustment in my head x

@janefx40 how far are you now? It suddenly felt so real yesterday when I was on the ward being monitored and having my blood profiling done as every other lady there was in for their elective c sections. Women were getting whisked off for their sections and it was strange to think they are going to he e their baby in their arms within the next hour. I’m sure that whenever your baby comes you will make them feel special around their birthday x

Beherenow32 · 24/11/2018 10:12

Thanks everyone. I was quite calm yesterday but getting myself worried today. Going to try drink freezing old water 🤞 my placenta is at the front which won’t help.

@Barcelo18 @Janefx40 @Liverpool19

Wow everything is moving along for all of you! Must be overwhelming xx

Liverpool19 · 24/11/2018 10:52

jane your baby could come early either way without having to have the section so at least this way you will know the date and can prepare. You still have time for it to move. My hospital won’t make a decision on a section for the placenta until 34 weeks.

X

Barcelo18 · 24/11/2018 10:56

@beherenow32 honestly ring the maternity assessment unit they would rather you go in to put your mind at rest. The worry isn’t good for you or the baby x

Janefx40 · 24/11/2018 13:12

Thanks Ladies. I know all will be well. I was just a bit overwhelmed.

@Liverpool19 you are right of course. Always wise. Assume nothing happened yet for you?

@Beherenow32 how are you feeling now? Did you call the labour ward?

To cap off a great day I spent last night throwing up and still feeling nauseous which is very strange when you literally have a person squirming around in there at the same time!

I am 32 weeks @Barcelo18

Xxx

It’s a shock jane when people tell you something you don’t want to hear 😂 hopefully the placenta moves 🤞🏻
I’ve got back pain and niggles last night felt like really strong period pains today isn’t as much and he’s dropped really low so hoping it’s just gave a happy push for tomorrow 😂 am sure we will find out in the morning when they put the propess in or break my waters 😂🤞🏻 X

Janefx40 · 24/11/2018 14:35

@Liverpool19 exciting! Sounds like you are ready to go and just need a push!

Beherenow32 · 24/11/2018 15:37

So, been rushing around all day, but have felt a few little taps/ pressure inside. Going to sit now and drink my fizzy juice. Just wish I knew what was normal.

@Janefx40 when will they decide if/ when they’re doing the c section? Xx

Fox23 · 24/11/2018 15:52

@Janefx40 I promise c section is not that bad at all 😊 I would not have had it any other way (well, knowing her weight now I literally had no other choice, but I didn’t know then). I was up and running the next day ( I suppose I was lucky with how little it hurt afterwards). I’m just trying to say that regardless on how your little miracle enters this world- it literally doesn’t matter! As long as everybody is safe, healthy and well 😊
@Liverpool19 maybe tomorrow!!! Or Monday! Either way- you will be mum in few days!!!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Little Alice was 3 weeks yesterday. She is already enjoying looking around, exploring colours and shapes. Loves watching (seriously) Peppa Pig. And she is smiling all the time. Had our little passport photos done today. She almost sleeps through the night - only wakes twice for 20min- food and nappy change and back to bed. And I promise, I’m so in love,
My work colleagues are organising dinner today, and I’m getting tearful whilst getting ready! Ridiculous 😅
I have lost just over a stone (water weight), but I have such a long way still to go. My good old Spanx will have to come out of wardrobe today 😆😆😆

Janefx40 · 24/11/2018 16:56

@Fox23 you are super woman. Lost weight and going out for dinner at 3 weeks! Wow.

Yes I know there is nothing wrong with c-section. I suppose I just wanted it to be my choice what I had. But as you say, I just want a healthy baby.

Alice sounds amazing!!!

Xxx
