Pregnancy 12 week + post IVF/infertility - general chat and support

Janefx40 · 09/07/2018 21:11

I thought I would start a thread for those of us pregnant post IVF/infertility. There are lots of pregnancy clubs on Mumsnet but it feels like a slightly different experience having got here the hard way!

I've put 12 weeks + because there is another group for women who have just got their BFPs. That is such an anxious time and definitely needs support.

But I thought this group might pick us up a little further along - over the first panic but still learning about the experience.

Not being exclusive tho - if you think this is the group for you, come along in...

So come and join us if you would like to xxx

She has it as a pet 😳😳 I thought you just meant it was sitting by her window jane. That’s odd!! X

swimchick1980 · 13/11/2018 09:32

@Janefx40 - what @Liverpool19 said, a fox as a pet, seriously??! I thought you just meant it was at the window - outside! Do they take it for walks? Poor fox!

I’m hanging in there!! Still hoping the baby comes naturally and I don’t need to be induced but it seems the baby has other ideas.......

Liverpool19 · 13/11/2018 10:06

Have they said when they will induce you swim your sweep apparently normally works within 48 hours. My friend had one sat on her birthing ball and then tried nipple stimulation and it sent her into labour. Worth a try 😂 I’m going to get some raspberry leaf tea today. Going to start drinking it on Thursday. X

Fox23 · 13/11/2018 11:26

@Liverpool19 and @swimchick1980 I’ve heard from friends that looong walks + bedroom action sometimes speeds things up. My friend went into labour next day.
Either way, we will have 2 more babies on this thread!!! So exciting!!!!!!!

Liverpool19 · 13/11/2018 12:51

I heard that too fox however I’m not allowed to walk anywere on my own apart from the train station car park to the train to my office, according to my boyfriend until he is back 🤣 my friend had her baby last night. 7 weeks early weighing 5lb 7oz!

Fox23 · 13/11/2018 13:11

@Liverpool19 I agree, wait for him to get back and then have a long walk! You never know, you may post us that you are now on your way! 😉

swimchick1980 · 13/11/2018 14:20

Long walk done today!! DH not keen on the bedroom action after the doctor said she could tickle the baby’s head when she did the sweep 🤣. About to commence my ball bouncing for the day! Come on baby!!

swimchick1980 · 13/11/2018 14:22

@Liverpool19, you should avoid all of the above. 7 weeks early - wow! 5lb 7oz is a good weight for that early. Hope your friend and her baby are ok 😀

Liverpool19 · 13/11/2018 15:17

Back from my scan. Everything is fine. He weighs about 5lb. Head is in correct position and looking good they said. Consultant tomorrow for induction date. Can’t believe I have officially 2 weeks left or maybe a week 😳

swimchick1980 · 13/11/2018 18:32

Glad all ok @Liverpool19. Not long now! I have a feeling my baby is going to weigh double yours!!

Liverpool19 · 13/11/2018 18:50

Do everything you can swim my friend is good thanks. They will be out of HDPU by tomorrow hopefully. When are you due to go and be induced? They said today his head is on my bladder and yep I can feel that now 😳 x

swimchick1980 · 13/11/2018 19:01

Due to be at the weekend but i’m getting really worried about it so think i’m going to speak to the doctor and see about pushing it out for a few days. Hopefully things will happen themselves before the weekend 🤞

Liverpool19 · 13/11/2018 19:07

Don’t be worried swim I just keep thinking he’s got to come out one way or another 😂 hopefully she has enough and decides to come out soon! Hoping my consultant gives the go ahead for my sweep, along with my induction date. X

swimchick1980 · 13/11/2018 19:39

I know - it’s silly but the nearer it gets the more worried i become, not about the birth, just the induction. Fingers crossed for the next few days and it doesn’t matter anyway. Now, where’s my ball......I better get bouncing Grin

emalady · 13/11/2018 20:54

I'm not due until 6/2/19 so 12 weeks, finishing work at 36 weeks, having a week off to go shopping with mum etc in December and have most of Christmas week off which is why it's only 6 weeks of actual work!
Saw my hypnobirthing lady today, feeling much more positive about the birth. Definitely a good call.

Fox23 · 14/11/2018 07:26

I got my Chicco yesterday and last night my little princess slept in there with her Sleepyhead! Magic! She actually loved it 😁
Me on other hand? I was soooo worried if she will like it or not (£200 at stake here) that at 2am feed/nappy change .... I forgot to put clean nappy back on 😳
She woke up at 6am in her new Chicco and Sleepyhead totally soaked! Girls- I’m failing ....
@emalady time will fly by! Before you know it you will be counting down days 😃 Christmas will provide great distraction for you.
@swimchick1980 how’s ball bouncing? It’s great to see you in such a positive mindset about the birth itself. I don’t know how you do it, I just never could face it. You will do so well!
@Liverpool19 I hope you get induction date soon, as that will give you some sense of resolution. I know it all changed for me when I got the date.
Let us know how your appointment goes today. I’m so excited for you and @swimchick1980 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

swimchick1980 · 14/11/2018 08:26

You are definitely not failing @Fox23, it sounds like you are doing brilliantly. If that’s the worst, your little Alice is a lucky girl!

I think because my birth with DC1 was fine, I am relaxed. First time around I was pretty relaxed too - I didn’t watch any One Born Every Minute or anything like that and I remember my best friend telling me it was only one day and the minute the baby is born any pain goes away, it really stuck with me and it was fine - the pain was only when the contractions were happening, fine in between. I know a lot of people have a much tougher time but I am hoping my body remembers what to do from last time!

@emalady - time will definitely fly by, especially with Christmas in between. Glad the hypnobirthing session went well.

@Janefx40, not long till you finish work at all, so exciting!

@Liverpool19, hope the consultant appointment goes well today.

Hope everyone else is well too 😀

Liverpool19 · 14/11/2018 11:09

fox there’s nothing wrong with forgetting the nappy I hope that’s the only thing I forget 😂
Consultant was happy with everything. I can have my sweep Monday and he’s booked my induction for a week Sunday. Said everything is looking fine. X

Janefx40 · 14/11/2018 17:10

Yay. Well done @Liverpool19

It's reassuring @swimchick1980 to hear that your first birth was fine. I've started getting quite worried as I do all these bloody classes!!! Hypnobirthing was pretty good tho. Back to NCT tonight for more (gulp!)

2 babies soon!!! Can't wait

X

Wish me luck ladies - I’m being induced (due to some bleeding earlier in the week). On my way to hospital now Shock

Beherenow32 · 15/11/2018 19:57

@swimchick1980 good luck! Very exciting. X

Liverpool19 · 15/11/2018 21:00

Goodluck swim I hope it’s nice and quick for you and everything is ok xx

swimchick1980 · 16/11/2018 06:39

Thanks everyone - quick it is not!! Had my first tablet last night and had to have another one an hour or so ago. Will see what happens next.....Didn’t get much sleep last night so pretty tired, oh well, good practice for when the baby does arrive I guess Grin
