Pregnancy 12 week + post IVF/infertility - general chat and support

I thought I would start a thread for those of us pregnant post IVF/infertility. There are lots of pregnancy clubs on Mumsnet but it feels like a slightly different experience having got here the hard way!

I've put 12 weeks + because there is another group for women who have just got their BFPs. That is such an anxious time and definitely needs support.

But I thought this group might pick us up a little further along - over the first panic but still learning about the experience.

Not being exclusive tho - if you think this is the group for you, come along in...

@swimchick1980 sorry to hear that you didn’t get much rest, can I ask why? Was it being in hospital? Or pain? Or just being interrupted?
I hope you can sneak in a quick nap before the little one arrives 🤞

Not in pain, just being in hospital and a wee bit disturbed too. I think it’s just the anticipation and wondering mostly to be honest. I did have to get monitored early this morning and my baby is not very cooperative in being monitored! I feel sorry for the rest of the people on my ward as it keeps booting away the connectors and then the alarm thing goes off 😬

How come you have to stay in swim Is that Cos of the bleeding? I can have the pessary and come home unless my waters are ready to go and they will break them for me 😳 x

@swimchick1980 exciting times but sorry you didn't sleep. Hope second pill works for you and you have your baby by tea time!

Sorry to go off topic, but has anyone gotten the bounty packs? You get vouchers with the app- wondering if it’s worth bothering with? Thanks xx

@beherenow32 I got the first one, not picked up the second yet, mostly was sample sized things and vouchers but might be handy. I think the Emma's diary pack is better if you collect in tesco or asda as you get a pack of nappies.
@swimchick1980 any update? Hope things are going OK and you have managed a bit of a rest.

beherenow I keep forgetting to pick mine up 🤦🏼‍♀️ With a week to go before induction I don’t see the point now 😂
Well work is done until July and I’ve just had my first cup of raspberry leaf tea. It’s not that bad to drink infact it’s probably the best tea herbal tea I’ve tasted!

@Beherenow32 i got my pack at hospital. They literally just went up to everyone and gave them out.

@fox23 our hospital doesn't do bounty packs or Emma's diary stuff any more as it's all marketing.
@liverpool19 hope the tea works and you get to meet your little one soon!!

@Fox23 yeah, I’m sure we get them at the hospital, and I think if you have vouchers, you get more stuff....
it’s prob just all tiny little samples!

DC2 arrived this morning ! So delighted. We’re both doing well and the induction wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be - after a slow start, it sped up significantly!! Managed with no pain relief for most of it (other than lying in the bath for a while) and then gas and air for the last wee bit. Not a stealth boast - I was just about to ask for an epidural when I was told I was fully dilated - an encouragement for others who might have to go through the process. I suspect it was faster as it was #2 though! Having thought baby was going to be huge weight was just over 7lb!! Can’t blame the weight gain on the baby, eek!!

Congratulations swim you done so well!! So I’m next then 😳😳 x

Today my plug has started to come out 😬 I’ve had 5 cups of raspberry leaf tea since yesterday, not sure if that’s anything to do with it but it’s slowly but surly leaving 😂 xx
