Reduced movements - long sorry

Hi all, new here.
I'm 33w & 6d pregnant with my third. Since Thursday I've had reduced movement, to the point I can count on one hand how many movements I've felt.
I got checked over on Friday, booked in for an emergency growth scan which showed everything was fine (cord/placenta working beautifully the lady said, lots of fluid around baby, baby swallowing and doing lots of deep breaths in) and was checked over (by this I mean put on those monitors) again yesterday (Mon) which showed baby heart rate fine but a very sleepy baby - was on monitor from 12.15 to 2.30 and had 7 movements. In that time I started contracting so was given steriod injection as precaution but I'm so worried about not feeling anything, even now the last movement I remember feeling was about 5ish. I've tried laying on my side, going for a walk, having cold drinks and ice poles, eating something sweet, eating anything, rubbing my belly, talking to belly, poking belly. Do I just now suddenly have a sleepy baby? Is this at all normal? I'm back to hospital tomorrow for another monitoring & steriod injection but I've never experienced this before, has anybody?
V stressed

You don’t sound like a fool to me. What is the plan?

GKite · 13/07/2018 17:52

I was so hyped that I was being taken seriously and that my baby was potentially on the way and now nothing, they've put away the dinner I ordered as well so now no food until bloody half 8 tomorrow morning. I could cry
I don't know, all I know is they are doing another monitoring trace at 8pm.im sat in a gown and ted stockings feel foolish lol

Then please ask a MW or HCA to get you some tea and toast at least - they must be able to pinch some from the postnatal ward! Kick up a stink if necessary - you and your baby need nourishing, especially if there's a chance you'll be meeting in person sooner rather than later!

ReevaDiva · 13/07/2018 17:57

Can you go to the shop or cafe maybe?

Hjkillas · 13/07/2018 18:23

They can't leave you without anything to eat if they have no reason to! Even if a MW grabs you a sandwich from the cafe.. I hope everything is okay x

Armygirl · 13/07/2018 18:40

Please ask one of the midwives if you can have something to eat. They can’t leave you without a meal. I hope everything is ok x

JustVent · 13/07/2018 18:48

Ok you’re in the right place and it sounds like they are doing the right thing. They can’t whip a baby out when they can see movements on the monitor.
However they can’t now and things have escalated - so they are taking it seriously. Have there been any movements since you were admitted?

CoperCabana · 13/07/2018 19:03

You have been a brilliant advocate for your baby so far so keep going and advocate for yourself too. It sounds like they are not communicating properly with you which is also my experience of a busy ante natal and labour ward. In my experience, you have to shout loud. Keep asking questions. Annoy the hell out of them if you need to. You are going great. Good luck!
