@LostMyBaubles seeing the mw on Monday
Ive been having alot of pressure/pain/discomfort today too im sure this heat doesn't help any of us!!
@KTD27 hopefully baby moves over the weekend but if you do end up with the section as you say at least you can prepare a bit more

LostMyBaubles · 05/07/2018 13:40

Kt hopefully things move for you soon

Imx0 ive just come back from mw.
Was in and out in mins. Very odd.
Didnt ask me about any concerns and didn't want to measure bump
Told her consultant said needs to be done.
Bump hasn't grown in 2 weeks which is worrying me now. I know hes on the bigger side but bumps not grown in 2 weeks?? Surely that's not right?

Told her about the shaking fit movements and she said oh I dunno.
Listened to heartbeat for like 2 secs and that was that.
No 1 Was waiting to be seen either

lmx0 · 05/07/2018 14:16

@LostMyBaubles was it your normal mw?

pennyw85 · 05/07/2018 14:28

Sounds like my midwife - I'm always in and out in minutes. Think it's because this is 2nd baby!

New poster on this thread but seemed too good not to join in. I'm 39w today and so grumpy. I'm so uncomfortable/sometimes in quite a lot of pain. I went for a big walk yesterday hoping it would help get things started but a big fat nothing! DD1 had to be induced at 40+12 as she showed no signs of coming by herself and really want to avoid that this time....

KTD27 · 05/07/2018 14:48

Spangly I missed the new arrival!! Hope you’re ok and baby is doing well
Lost that doesn’t sound great! If you’re worried could you ring and make another appointment with your midwife?

Well she arrived in the early hours of the 4th! Sadly was convinced to stay in hospital but did manage to avoid a full induction just had ARM (waters broken) which got things going.. very fast in fact with no time for any pain relief.
Much much more painful than last labour but in some ways much better as it was over in a matter of hours... They did let me go to the park and wander round for the first couple of hours so i wasnt strapped to a table the whole way thru like last time.. did have to deliver on my back on the bed though which wasnt nice.
Recovery ward a nightmare as per usual.. said I could leave after a few hours but in reality was there 12 hours for no other reason than waiting on a doctor to sign everything off... eventually I just left like I did last time against medical advice because theres no way I was staying overnight... nothing wrong with me or baby at all!!
And she wasnt as small as they had said she would be! No pobs at all so not even sure I had needed to be in hospital at all... but oh well at least we are both safe and sound.
Kind of glad I didnt get the section as would have been stuck in hospital even longer. However I did not know the labour was going to be fast so I still think that I was right to try and ask for one in light of what had happened last time.

She is absolutely beautiful and im very happy!! x

KTD27 · 05/07/2018 15:28

Lets hooray!! Oh I’m so pleased!!! Congratulations to you

Very short appts

lmx0 · 05/07/2018 15:50

@letsallhaveanap a massive congrats!!! Glad you and baby are perfectly well 😊

LostMyBaubles · 05/07/2018 16:05

Sorry let's I didn't refresh

Congrats!!!

I rang the hosp mws
They said local mw should have rang them about not having any growth in 2 weeks
If movements reduce at all even a little to go in and get checked. Scan is next week.

BrutusMcDogface · 05/07/2018 16:08

Congrats spangly and lets !!

BrutusMcDogface · 05/07/2018 16:10

Lost - hope all is ok! Not impressed with your midwife Sad

Aw12345 · 05/07/2018 16:46

35+5. Dying at work. On my feet all day, boiling to death and shattered. THANK GOODNESS only 2 days left at work.

SK166 · 05/07/2018 19:15

@lets - hooray! Congrats to you - hope you’re recovering well and little one is giving you a bit of rest!

@spangly - congrats to you too! How are you both doing?

@lost - glad you rang the hospital. Your midwife sounds like she’s bordering on negligent. Don’t let her fob you off!

@Aw - you poor thing! I can’t imagine still being at work in this heat. Good luck for these last couple of days!

We’re now 5 days overdue for this little one and not best pleased about it. The heat and humidity is just brutal and I’m so uncomfortable. Got my 41 week appt and a 2nd sweep tomorrow but I’m beginning to lose hope that she will ever arrive. I really really really really don’t want an induction Sad

lmx0 · 05/07/2018 19:31

@LostMyBaubles glad you rang the hospital for a 2nd opinion!! Your mw sounds awful hope your scan goes well
@Aw12345 its awful working atm i was glad to get finished last week!! Hopefully the 2 days fly in for you!!
@SK166 hopefully you will go into labour over the weekend ive everything crossed for you!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

BrutusMcDogface · 05/07/2018 19:57

SK - poor you- I'm only 38 weeks and dying in this weather. Hope to god I don't go overdue!! Agh! Hope it happens soon.

Aw12345 · 05/07/2018 20:37

SK166 -really hope your next sweep encourages baby to come! Must be so horrible being so overdue Confused

Let's and spangly - huge congratulations, it must all be worth it now you have your own beautiful little baby

lifechangesforever · 05/07/2018 20:59

Marking my place here and will try to keep up better!

38+1 today. Feet are the size of barges and have sores across the front where my ankles should be so it's pretty much me sat at home with my feet raised - not how I pictured these last weeks.

30th birthday is looming on the 15th - not sure if I would like her to come then and be a wonderful present or if that would be the worst way to spend a birthday ever 😂

Hope everyone is doing as OK as can be in this weather!

SomeKnobend · 05/07/2018 21:10

@LostMyBaubles I had that, it was baby having hiccups I think!

LostMyBaubles · 05/07/2018 21:40

Some ive had hiccups lots of times during this and prev pregnancies, feels loads diff. Almost like a violent full body shake lasting between 5-30 secs. No rhythm, doesnt stop is continuous unlike the hiccups ive experienced which seem to have a lil rhythm to them.

Aw
Yay only 2 days!!

Sk you poor thing. You must be so uncomfortable.
Hopefully you can avoid induction. Sounds like baby is too comfy
Borderline negligent defo sounds right. Didn't even put any of my concerns in my notes about the shaking etx she wasnt even goinf to measure me until I said consultant said you have to not seen a consultant since 20 weeks lol so they didnt say that

Life would be a lovely lil gift!

Should I ring the mw I saw today (shes my local mw, thankfully im consultant led)
Tell her she missed the static growth for 2 weeks and see what she has to say. If she says doesnt matter etc pull her up and say ive already rang the hosp to double check and they said she should have forwarded me on to them

I really dont wanna see her after the baby is born 😔

BrutusMcDogface · 05/07/2018 21:45

If I were you, Lost, I'd mention the shaking to the midwives at the hospital and see if they can monitor you and baby on a trace.

lmx0 · 05/07/2018 21:48

@LostMyBaubles how many weeks are you now? When you go for your scan next week mention it if you dont see anyone beforehand tbh if it was me i wouldnt want to see that mw again as she sounds like as much use as staying at home!!

BrutusMcDogface · 05/07/2018 21:52

I have just done a quick google and it seems quite common...definitely no harm in mentioning it though.

SK166 · 05/07/2018 22:01

@lost - if it’s any consolation, I have that weird shaking too. As Brutus said, google seems to bring up lots of people saying the same thing so can’t say it has worried me particularly. Feels like when I get a muscle twitch, but on a bigger scale, so I imagine it’s something like that for baby? Strengthening muscles or something?

letsallhaveanap · 05/07/2018 23:22

just seen about the shaking movements baubles... i had exactly what i described as that when pregnant with my son... didnt feel like hiccups felt like shaking and was v worried it was fits... immediately saw what it was when he was born, as he has a habit of stretching out his arms and yawning, with his fists in balls and his arms shake as he does this... just part of how he stretches... ive noticed since that lots of people sort of shake when they stretch.... so try not to worry as the shaking very much could be just part of your babies normal set of movements or a movement they are trying out x
