LostMyBaubles · 09/07/2018 18:26

That's the worst isnt it!
Waiting and not knowing

Hubby would prefer I had a section as he thinks its safer, his thinking is all the 'big drs' are already there, spinal already in place more can be done more quickly.
At this rate i might ask for a section lol

lmx0 · 09/07/2018 18:59

Me and my dh have agreed a section would be better for us you still have plenty of time for your baby to move down i think they give until 36 weeks? It would be more your low laying placenta they would worry about but i read online (nhs website i dont read anything else really) if baby is breech/transverse and you have a low laying placenta then its a section they go for as the placenta can block baby's exit would you be happy with a section if it came down to it?

LostMyBaubles · 09/07/2018 19:06

Thats what ive also read, i think the placenta is the reason he cant move down properly as its in thd way Confused

Placenta is to the front and low lying but not covering cervix. When she scanned me the other day I was shocked when she said this is where the placenta is! Right at bikini line. Big babies= big placenta so its going to be pretty big and prob an obstacle for him? I dunno
But yep a section is actually sounding more and more better for us!

Ive got some weird aches and pains today.
Bump does hurt but think its thr way he is laid. My legs and feet really hurt today. All i wanna so is sit down 😥

Feels weird that I can feel his head. Worries me a lil that i can feel the outline most of the time which makes me think how protected is it?
Also put 2+2 together and no wonder bump is lopsided lol

lmx0 · 09/07/2018 19:13

You would imagine so but at least you will have a date baby will be here and from what ive heard a planned section is easier to recover from yeah could be whatever way he is laid i was like that yesterday i found i couldn't stand too long or my back got really sore

LostMyBaubles · 09/07/2018 19:32

I already feel like ive had enough
Then there's sk and other over due/ close to due date etc

Im just so tired today

Ive not got up for a while. Foot is swelling on 1 side where it hurts 😕

toriaplum · 09/07/2018 19:57

Can I join the thread for a little moan. 38 weeks today with number two. I'm just so hot. PGP has been playing up the last few days. Although I had an ostopath appointment today so hopefully it will work miracles like it had done in the past. DM and MiL keep ringing and texting to see if I'm okay and want company. Not really I just want to peel my skin off to cool down.

probablyhangry · 09/07/2018 21:18

I'm suddenly feeling undecided about what I want for the birth (twins), I've said up until now I want a natural birth and not a section. Then stupid me went on the internet the other day because I thought some research would help to prepare myself. Only all I seemed to find was the terrible risks that come with it. Though I looked at some old mumsnet threads which made it seem less terrifying, my worry is the second baby often seems to have some issues and get into an awkward postion. So far I've been told I can have a natural birth if they're in a good position. I feel a bit ridiculous being scared since I already have DD but having twins things seem quite different this time around

LostMyBaubles · 09/07/2018 21:21

Prob my friend had twins naturally a few years ago. Hasnt put her off at all as shes preg again!
She said there were no complications etc

Obv every case is diff but yiu tend to read more about the bad ones as often they are looking for advice so its easier to find on the net.

Toria hope the pain calms down a little for you!

lmx0 · 09/07/2018 21:49

@LostMyBaubles hope tomorrow is a better day for you!! Your body needs the rest take it when you can
@toriaplum welcome and i hope it settle down a bit for you soon sometimes its just nice to be in your own company isnt you might well enjoy it now once baby comes you'll not be alone for a while!! (With both baby and visitors)
@probablyhangry ohh dr google is the worst thing sometimes!!

laurG · 09/07/2018 23:01

Anyone else just had enough? I’m on week three of mat leave and full term. Baby given us 2/3 false alarms and 24 hours I’m hospital in this time. It is so hot I’m confined to being inside with a fan and I can’t spend any money as I’ve got rubbish maternity pay. I’m bored, hot and frustrated. I just had my 40 week midwife appointment. was sent for another growth scan. Got to the hospital today and she didn’t book it properly so had to one all the way home again and go back tomorrow at 5pm. Worried sick about the baby. Plus they keep finding things in my urine but this far can’t identify if there’s anything wrong. Last week it was protein. This week its s possible infection. Aargh!!!

Right rant over. I’ve had a really easy pregnancy but this last bit is HARD!

How do you deal with the waiting around??

lmx0 · 09/07/2018 23:09

@laurG the last bit is awful isn't it and no one ever seems to talk about it but what a nightmare going all that way to be told eh no its tomorrow hows babys growth been so far?

laurG · 09/07/2018 23:37

@imx0

On the smaller side but steady. We had a growth scan at 37 weeks and it was fine. Average sized baby. It will probably be fine but I think being at home and having too much time on my hands is making me over think and worry! Just start to worry about unnoticed things that are going wrong and just getting it out safely. First baby so I’m anxious!

Yes, think the weeks off before birth are branded as this lovely time to indulge yourself. Actually, its quite stressy.

splendidsqueak7 · 10/07/2018 02:21

May I join? 29+3, on holiday w. my fam & DH. Grumbles: hot/puffy/sore feet, indigestion, my mum and sister being all gorgeous and slim (how DARE they!), can’t get comfy on the sofas in this holiday cottage!! I’m loving: the fan DH bought me, ice cubes, Gaviscon sahets, tepid baths, DH rubbing my feet w. my mum’s fancy foot balm. There should be a badge or sticker for getting through summer pregnancies!!

KTD27 · 10/07/2018 06:43

Morning all!
Trying to catch up frantically on way into hospital. Hope you’re all ok. splendid welcome hope Those foot rubs keep coming
laurG you must be stressed my love it’s things like this you can do without - if I need a scan book it properly!! Hope all is ok won’t be long now.

So We get to meet our baby today - am very nervous and excited. Hopefully by lunchtime so keep your eyes peeled for news and honest section feedback!

I want to meet my baby now 😆😩😩

I finished the first year of my degree this morning - baby F I am soooo ready for you to make you're appearance now.

In other news, I have the worst acid reflux of my life (I actually never had it once before pregnancy actually). Also think my feet are on the verge of splitting open so I'm literally sofa bound thank god for royal pomp and procession on the TV

BrutusMcDogface · 10/07/2018 14:03

Life- I was prescribed gaviscon advance and it works reasonably well! I was waking up sitting bolt upright in bed trying not to be sick (delightful!)

BeardofZeus · 10/07/2018 14:52

@KTD oo good luck!! Enjoy the moment you hold your baby for the firsy time!! emotional

WHERE IS MY BABY?! I can only imagine how comfortable it is in there tbh.. it’s hard enough for me getting out of bed in the morning that I can imagine a foetus is all “fuck that noise” about the great outside!!

lifechangesforever · 10/07/2018 14:57

@BrutusMcDogface yup I drink the stuff straight from the bottle now Grin

lmx0 · 10/07/2018 15:23

Imx0 im glad I did it when I did as I know the deep clean is done as it was on my list of things to do

Hope things are going ok for kt and sk

KTD27 · 10/07/2018 16:33

She’s here!! Our beautiful baby girl is currently snoozing on daddy’s chest after she arrived at 9:05 this morning a chunky 8lb 9
I’m completely out of it and have spent a lot of time being sick. Has been pretty yucky but after an anti sickness drug I’m feeling better. Have already been mobilised which is amazing and walked to the chair and back but that was probably too much too soon as I felt a bit dizzy and sweaty.
Our baby girl is great - hasn’t latched on yet though so we are persevering with breastfeeding as much as possible alongside expressing colostrum into a syringe. I have huge boobs so I sort of expected this as her brother struggled too.

Otherwise nothing to report!! Grin
