I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

colbalt hope all goes ok at your 20 week scan today.

I think what some of you said about protection from further loss/upset is so true. People keep asking me when i'm stopping working, and although i do have this deadline to finish i'm enjoying wrapping myself up in it and pretending almost that i'm not having a baby some days. The strong wriggles and kicks help me remember to connect, i don't want to stay too distant...but at the same time i'm happy to keep on working until 38/39 weeks if i can.

Labmum · 23/10/2018 13:51

Haha, thanks ladies. It's a long list to tackle. We bought a do-er up-er and had bedrooms inc. the nursery plastered when I was about 30 weeks with DS and then the roof replaced when DS was only 10weeks old. This summer we had a massive renovation project done so this is just the tail end of it all. We just don't seem to do things by halves.

Regarding the painting one of my chemistry friends came across a chemist who worked high up in the paint industry and he said he'd never allow his wife to paint walls or breathe paint fumes while pregnant. This friend told my hubby so Ive not been allowed to help and he likes me and DS out of the house to get painting and varnishing done which is why its dragging on so long!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 23/10/2018 14:36

Thank you all. Have had my booking in appointment today. All went well apart from not being able to get blood from my rubbish veins! Even after being prodded and poked my blood pressure was normal which was another relief!

On high risk thanks to my BMI. Roll on these next 4 weeks so that I can get a scan!

Hope all is going smoothly for everyone else!

HidCat · 23/10/2018 14:54

Had our 20week scan and all is well with a little girl on the way. So relieved it's not even funny!

Thinking of everyone else going through the scanxiety atm - Cobalt Rose I'm keeping everything crossed for a good scan for you tomorrow too.

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/10/2018 15:12

Amazing news Hid! A baby girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Massive congrats, what a wonderful day for you Smile

Well done for getting through booking appointment toothpaste, such a pointless feeling exercise sometimes. Good work on maintaining good bp! And consultant led means more monitoring, more scans and generally more contact, no bad thing at all.

Ah, lovely to have good news!

Yeah, no ladders for you Miami! I nearly clambered on the kitchen counter this morning for the spare kitchen roll before having a WTF moment and asking DH. My "I never was to be a burden" bullshit is clashing with my "please make my life as easy as possible lovely husband" and thankfully the latter won out Grin He had a go at me for sweeping and getting out of breath the other day so if I did want to paint the hall I'd have to wait till he's out for the day... And labmum makes a fair point about chemicals.

Does anyone else have those visions of women from the movies painting the nursery heavily pregnant and yet calm and gorgeous looking? All effortless dungarees, jaunty headscarf, barefoot, half way up a ladder with a roller transforming the walls into a primrose yellow haven of peaceful optimism.

As it is, no nursery as I can't be faffed and it'll be in with us, I haven't found any dungarees yet and I look crap in a headscarf.

So good you can feel him all over Miami, and be really interesting to know where he's settled himself. Sonographer mentioned my anterior placenta, said it was good and high so not a risk from being too low and covering cervix, and said the waters looked good. So they'll cover all of that.

I forgot to ask how my clot's looking but sure they'd have said if there was anything bad.

So many scans for people this week!

Labmum · 23/10/2018 20:44

@Anne oh yes with the beautifully pregnant women in dungarees. I tried a pair and they were THE most unflattering thing on me!

Congratulations @Hidcat, another little girl on the thread! When I was pregnant with DS everyone I knew had boys, now there seems to be a wave of girls!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 23/10/2018 20:47

Thank you all and good luck to everyone with scans this week!

Paranormalbouquet · 24/10/2018 11:29

Hi everyone! This thread has been busy!!

Anne massive congratulations on a good scan! I think it's pretty normal to feel a bit numb about them when you've had a history of losses. I swing from very excited to still convinced it won't work out. With regards to Mat Leave I basically randomly picked a date close to due date with the knowledge that I can go earlier if I need. I always want to look great in dungarees pregnant too- however when I've tried them on I look awful!

Whitenosugar I'm sorry I never said congratulations and welcome!

Vuduvu I know A LOT about cervical incompetence unfortunately and I do know that 1 LLETZ seldom causes issues, and that intervention is only advised when cervical length is less than 25mm or there is clear evidence of scar tissue/weakening. Even within the group with shortening it's almost impossible to decide who will have problems and who will not.

Miami did you enjoy yoga? Hope your scan comes around quickly for you.

Iswallowtoothpaste congratulations on getting through booking visit, it's a big psychological hurdle.

Hidcat congrats on the scan and the little girl!

Cobalt I hope all goes well today.

As for me, I did something very silly and flew to a job interview (short flight!). Even though there was an internal candidate with more experience who was always going to get the job (and they did!). Just thought I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't go as it's a job I would love. Got good feedback though (basically placed 2nd but person with more experience pipped me). Sigh. Got stopped on the outbound flight looking for a fit to fly letter which I didn't have but talked my way onto it and ended up buying an enormous sweatshirt in Primark before coming back to hide the bump! Glad I went still as I'd feel terrible if I hadn't given it a shot.

Vomiting bile in the mornings, I'm thinking it's reflux related as it settles after eating so will see if midwife has any suggestions. Baby is curled up on the left side so probably isn't helping. Will try encourage it to move over!

CobaltRose96 · 24/10/2018 13:40

Hi all!

Scan today confirmed a healthy baby girl ❤ Absolutely thrilled!

She was being a monkey though and had her face wedged against the placenta, making it hard to get a decent profile shot Grin

Iswallowtoothpaste · 24/10/2018 16:09

@CobaltRose96 how lovely! So pleased everything went well!

Vuduvu · 24/10/2018 18:09

@Paranormalbouquet thanks! At the moment I'm repeating to myself 'I have a normal length cervix' like a mantra every time I start to feel anxious so it helps to have other people say that too. I don't know why I've got myself in such a state about this - maybe partly because I was expecting it to be a one off appointment rather than regular monitoring. And also maybe because I've gotten so attached to the baby and would find a late loss so difficult.

Im typing this on the app so can't see everything that people have written while I type but congrats @CobaltRose96 and @HidCat on your 20 week scans! I had mine today as well - all well and I'm also having a little girl :) so many girls!

Miami81 · 24/10/2018 18:34

Congratulations on all the scans ladies. That's great.
I'm jealous. 20 wks on Friday but no scan until next Thursday. Which feels like an epic amount of time away.

whiteonesugar · 24/10/2018 18:35

Thanks for the welcome @paranormalbouquet

I have started having mild cramps which I know are very normal at this stage (4+4 today) but still freaking me out a bit. Stretching right? I am trying to make myself believe it’s a good thing coz the little bean is obv growing etc

Vuduvu · 24/10/2018 19:11

@miami81 it's amazing how time can stretch itself out like that isn't it? I was definitely feeling that way last week and still a bit now. Hope you manage to find some good distractions until then even if you aren't allowed to paint the ceiling xx

Iswallowtoothpaste · 25/10/2018 10:30

So wonderful to hear about all of these lovely scans! Amazing after such a worrying time!

Well what a day, sheep out on the road so spent an hour or so messing about with them. OH wanted to get cows back home and into the shed this weekend but now won’t have time, my cars broken, I’ve got to go to the surgery at 12:45 to have bloods taken as midwife couldn’t get them on Tuesday (naughty veins), my symptoms have really decreased too which is playing on my mind a bit. I know they come and go and they haven’t gone completely but still a bit worrying. Then to top it off, myself and OH have had a row, we never row but we’ve got so much to do and with being a car down and having to take it easier I think it’s getting to us both a bit. Could honestly cry!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 25/10/2018 10:33

@whiteonesugar I always get cramps at that early stage, by 8-9 weeks your uterus has doubled in size so that has to cause some sort of discomfort somewhere along the line! I’m 8+5 today and I will have a day of mild cramps every now and again but not all the time like in the beginning!

whiteonesugar · 25/10/2018 11:25

@Iswallowtoothpaste - its almost constant at the mo, REALLY low down and almost a tingling / aching sensation. really weird.

4+5 today i just want the next week to fly til Monday 5th for my scan :(

I hate not knowing if its ok. I have tested almost every day and this morning the test line was SUPER dark, the control line was a lot lighter. So I am taking it as a good sign.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 25/10/2018 11:42

@whiteonesugar they are pretty much constant with varying intensity. If your lines are still very dark then I really wouldn’t worry but I totally get that it’s easier said than done.

Not knowing is so difficult too, need a window to the womb!

whiteonesugar · 25/10/2018 12:29

@Iswallowtoothpaste

I also need to stop overanalysing whether i feel sick enough or not...!

Miami81 · 25/10/2018 12:58

So after another worrying day with movements yesterday, we popped into the midwife this morning for a listen in. They very kindly saw us at very short notice. All ok. Just need to talk myself down off the cliff.
I feel I was coping quite well with this pregnancy until movements started. Now it's a definite baby, who will have a name and features and all that stuff. Maybe that's what has messed with my head a bit. 17 weeks to go.
I am sure I can keep it together until then.

Paranormalbouquet · 25/10/2018 21:18

Cramps in early days definitely normal! Miami I’m really pleased the midwife could put your mind at rest. I found the early days of movement really hard going this time as I’d have nothing for days at times. Given your history they should be doing everything in their power to help you get through it. Did the midwife have any suggestions? I find mindfulness helpful and yoga.

Growth scan tomorrow and checking in placenta and baby position. Feels transverse right now to me.

Miami81 · 25/10/2018 21:59

Thanks @Paranormalbouquet it really helps to hear someone say that about days between movements, I have just been catastrophising all week.
I have been doing visualisations and self hypnosis along with some yoga so far. I am trying to be more zen. It's so very hard though.

Paranormalbouquet · 25/10/2018 22:08

With DD once I started feeling movements they were fairly consistent. This time I felt them early but very inconsistently. Wasn’t feeling every day until after 20 weeks and up to 28 weeks there was really no pattern. I think the anterior placenta makes a massive difference.

HidCat · 26/10/2018 07:30

@Vuduvu congratulations on a good scan and another girl!

@Iswallowtoothpaste I hope today is an easier one for you. Everything happens at once doesn't it!

Feeling movements is a blessing and a curse all at once. Once you start to feel them you worry about why they aren't there for a while and it's hard to control the anxiety once it kicks in. I'm glad you got checked out @Miami81, best to be safe than sorry.

Labmum · 26/10/2018 10:58

I've not seen any posts from @FMU recently. Hope all is ok and things are progressing well.

Glad you got checked out @miami and they are being supportive.

@Anne how old are your DSC?
