I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

Thank you @Paranormalbouquet it would complete sense to be those dates. It would be physically impossible to be anywhere near 8 weeks yet but it's just causes so much concern doesn't it.

Hopefully keep myself busy over the next week until my next one on wed x

Miami81 · 10/10/2018 21:09

@sprinkleofsunshine you poor love. I hate the limbo. In this pregnancy I had a scan at exactly 6 wks, which the sonographer was very negative about. Baby measuring small (

Vuduvu · 10/10/2018 21:33

@paranormalbouquet @labmum thanks for the advice on the cervix stuff. I think my anxiety is ramping up a bit prior to the cervix appointment next week and anomaly scan the week after so I'm catastrophising about everything. There are stories on some threads which I made the mistake of reading about people having late miscarriages after one LLETZ, and it's always those that sticks in my mind never the probably thousands of people who are fine!

@miami81 @annelovesgilbert that's good you are getting bumps! Surely that's a sign that things are going well in there. I'm definitely getting a bit bigger but not sure I'd call it a bump yet - I'm managing to hide it with baggy jumpers. Like you Anne I feel a bit of a fraud somehow, and we have only told a few people about the pregnancy. Hope your appointment went well today.

@labmum enjoy your trip to the coast! Hope the weather holds up for you.

@iswallowtoothpaste thanks for the good wishes :)

@beanhunter how are things going with you? Are you still in hospital.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

sprinkleofsunshine · 10/10/2018 21:35

Thank you for the reassurance @Miami81. He was much more negative than the last I saw afterwards who explained it all but dh seems to think he can't give false hope which I understand of course.

I ended up having an internal and he couldn't see a hb but he said he wasn't too worried about that part as measuring 4.5mm he wouldn't expect to see one anything less than 5mm. I think his main concern was that I wasn't measuring 7+6 by my lmp dates.

What I don't understand though is how does this not happen to most people if they add the two weeks on but on average people ovulate 14 days later so wouldn't it mean majority of people would be nearly two weeks out from their lmp dates and their actual measuring dates?

beanhunter · 10/10/2018 21:37

I’m at home but going in for reassessment (and final scan with rmc clinic) tomorrow. I’m a bit better but still not really eating.

Paranormalbouquet · 11/10/2018 11:38

Sprinkle dating is done from the LMP so you will always be 2 weeks more pregnant than you actually are if you have a regular 28 day cycle. If your cycle is longer or shorter you may find that your dates are changed at ultrasound. And as Miami says scans are not so accurate at the 6 week point. The waiting is really hard and as we all know it can go either way. Will keep everything crossed for a good outcome for you.

Vuduvu I was very slow telling people about this pregnancy. Now it's super obvious so people will ask but up to 20+ weeks I kept it pretty quiet. It's so hard when you are worried about the outcome. Due to my cervix issues I was having scans every 2 weeks in the preterm prevention clinic so I think I was on super high alert until 24 weeks. Although they usually let me have a quick look at baby each time too! They have now discharged me as I have passed viability so now back to scans every 4 weeks after high placental pressures picked up at 20 weeks.

@iswallowtoothpaste when is your scan?

Bean sorry to hear you are still not eating.

NoCatsHere · 11/10/2018 12:11

miami with my first baby i didn't feel anything until 21 weeks i think - it was definitely after my second scan and i had an anterior placenta that time.

labmum so happy you are so close to 24 weeks, it does feel like a lovely milestone to reach. Enjoy your mini break this weekend. I live by the sea and feel very lucky that i get to see it almost daily.

sprinkle its just so hard that further weeks wait. its awful when things aren't clear cut. I am wishing the week away for you....and also the absolute best of luck that things turn out well. hugs. xxx

bean glad you're at home and hope todays scan goes well.

I had my growth and fluid scan and check yesterday at hospital after my brief overnight spell when they thought baby was coming at 29 weeks. All was well anyway and apparently there's plenty of fluid in there! So i'm back off high risk and allowed to progress as a 'normal pregnant'. I also booked my elcs (traumatic second birth with my ds ending up in scbu) and with this scare and hiccup i want to be in control. The consultant was so lovely and said i didn't have to justify anything and so i'm booked in for 39+6 on the 20th november! Could of had it at 39 weeks but i wanted to cook the baby for as long as possible. Hopefully it'll be late like the other two! It's feeling very real now.....

sprinkleofsunshine · 11/10/2018 12:34

Thank you @NoCatsHere @Paranormalbouquet hopefully I can update next week with some better news :-)

sprinkleofsunshine · 11/10/2018 12:35

Glad you had positive news @NoCatsHere and gl for your reassement @beanhunter

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/10/2018 12:14

So glad things are looking good for you nocats and exciting to have your date sorted.

How’s everyone this weekend?

My appointment went well. No scan but asked to hear the hb as still no movements and all was well. Abnormality scan on Friday and back at the clinic to see my usual guy the week after. Started weaving off cyclogest, now on 4 a day.

How was your scan bean?

It’s chucking it down here today so having a lazy day in our pjs after a massive breakfast. My DSC are mad as cheese and bouncing off the walls but so excited about everything which is really lovely.

I might have mentioned this before but is anyone else noticing they’re hairier in pregnancy? It’s so bizarre. It’s like my hair isn’t falling out anymore so my arm hair is longer, I’ve got a light downy coat on my belly and peach fuzz on my face! The hair is very pale so not that visible but it’s like I’m growing a coat to keep me warm Grin

beanhunter · 14/10/2018 12:29

Scans have been ok. Vomiting finally improving in steroids. Mega constipation so back in with that and have also developed double vision due to being so ill so can’t drive. Basically it’s been a nightmare but for now the baby is still ok.

Anxiousfeelings · 14/10/2018 14:02

Sorry to read about all the worries. @beanhunter that sounds very trying. Glad baby is ok though.

I can’t believe that I am 32 weeks this week. Starting to get pretty worried about delivery etc.!

Miami81 · 14/10/2018 14:03

@AnneLovesGilbert ha ha to the hair thing. Mine has basically stopped growing everywhere but on my head. I had just started to recover from post natal hair loss after dd so it's quite random to be back in the no hair loss thing. I noticed this last time as well. I think it's a hormone thing. Some people seem to think it relates to the sex of the baby. I think it's probably just how individual people respond to all the hormones.
We have our next appt on Tuesday. I am definitely feeling movements now, not consistent or every day but because I know what they feel like I suppose I am aware of them.

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/10/2018 17:52

So lovely you’re feeling movements miami Smile is it like the much discussed “flutters” or different?

I felt a swooshing in my belly last night but about 10 mins after dtd and I also noticed the hard bit of my bump shifted from left, where it’s been since I noticed it wasn’t symmetrical, to the right, so could have been anything.

My main feeling is a super strong pulse which is in my belly and my hands every time I’m still. I can see my belly literally pulsing, very odd.

I bought a Doppler in the end Blush Used it twice and given no movement I’m so glad I got it. I know most people steer clear as it’s daft and risky but it’s done my general well-being state a lot of good.

What appointment do you have, midwife? How are you feeling? x

Miami81 · 14/10/2018 21:13

Oh the swoosh. That's one of the movements. Mainly tapping is what I am feeling.
Just don't rely on the Doppler @AnneLovesGilbert especially as you get further along. If you are concerned get them to check you. With your history and understandable anxiety they won't even blink.

beanhunter · 14/10/2018 21:33

I’m finding the in between hard. Whilst I’m loving no longer constantly vomiting having no symptoms and no movements yet (it’s too early) is really hard.

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/10/2018 22:04

Oh good miami! More swooshing after I ate tonight and still off and on.

Promise I won’t overuse it or use it if I’m worried something’s actually wrong. We gave it a go just to see and we did it for the kids but will hold off now and have scan Friday Smile

I’ve found the time between scans increasing so much has been a bit of a head fuck and I’ve spent more time suddenly worrying if it’s crapped out on me and I don’t know. For no reason at all, and tbh that’s not much better with scans as the boost doesn’t last more than a couple of days.

Paranormalbouquet · 15/10/2018 08:00

NoCatsHere great news! I’d ideally like to cook baby for an extra week but my obstetrician is reluctant to let me go past 38 weeks as high risk of uterine rupture if I labour spontaneously and given the concerns around my placental blood flow they will push it back to 37 weeks if any suggestion that growth is dropping off etc.

Anne I’m hairy too at the moment. Fuzzy layer on tummy, hair and nails growing super fast. Luckily can’t see my bikini line well but suspect it’s bad!! My early movements first time were little taps, like Miami said, this time I had a mix of taps and swooshing/bubbles that you read about. I’m in agreement with what Miami says re dopplers too. 20 week scan is a great progress point. The pulse is normal too- it’s always there but probably pushed forward by bump and also the increased amount of blood when pregnant.

Good luck to all with scans this week.

30+3 here. Fingers and feet getting puffy last few days, will check bp and urine today but think it’s just third trimester swelling. I’m figuring out a movement pattern too which for this one seems to be 2 very active days followed by a quieter one (so obviously I’m horribly anxious those days) but I’ve been assured that’s not an unusual pattern and told I can go in whenever I want to be checked out which is good. Went to cinema last night and the music/loud noise (and probably chocolate I ate!) really set baby off! DH felt more movements in 2 hours than he has in the pregnancy to date! My next scan is Friday week,

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/10/2018 08:09

Just thought I'd quickly hop on and see how you're all getting on Smile Pleased to report that the baby finally came home from NICU over the weekend and she's doing fine now. 7 weeks of absolute dread but at least we're over that bit now.

Hoping to catch up more with you soon. I'm sure some of you must be nearing the end of your pregnancies?

Paranormalbouquet · 16/10/2018 10:19

Unicorns that’s fantastic news, glad she is home. It must have been tough spending so long in NICU. I hope to join you in the postpartum club in mid-December (current plan if growth remains good and placental position allows).

Iswallowtoothpaste · 16/10/2018 12:51

@Unicorns so pleased to hear that!

I’m 7+3 today, recovering from a 12 hour sickness bug that I had yesterday (sickness and diarrhoea - the joys) I haven’t eaten a lot today, I’ve just been trying to take on fluid but I’ve been having period type pains and lower back ache which is making me worry. I’ve had no spotting/bleeding but when I’ve wiped it’s been quite yellow (blaming that on taking pregnacare on a light stomach yesterday and later than usual)

A bit f worry is setting in, I’m worried the bug has done something to the baby.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 16/10/2018 14:01

@Paranormalbouquet That's not far away at all. It seems so strange because I remember you being in the early stages with this little one. I hope everything remains well for you

HidCat · 16/10/2018 19:18

@UnicornsandRainbows1 congratulations on bringing your baby home, I'm so pleased for you.

I'm glad everyone seems to be doing ok. I've been coming on MN less often lately so feel like I have a mountain of catching up to do!

@Iswallowtoothpaste try not to worry too much. Backache and stomach cramps after a sickness bug is to be expected. I hope you feel better soon.

sprinkleofsunshine · 16/10/2018 20:12

@UnicornsandRainbows1 congratulations that's lovely news baby is home with you!

Anxiousfeelings · 17/10/2018 07:10

@unicorns so happy she is home with you now

@iswallowtoothpaste that sounds like a rough time. Your body will probably be dehydrated - that always gives me a sore back etc. Hope you feel better soon.

I’m looking forward to seeing the midwife today- the last week has been a bit of a struggle with nausea, headaches and exhaustion so will be good to get checked out. Baby is more more active though so that is reassuring
