I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

Congratulations @beanhunter! Fantastic news on your scan. Hoping your stay in hospital is short and you can get home soon.

Miami81 · 06/10/2018 09:33

Great news @beanhunter I'm sorry your still sick but great that scan was all good. You've got this.

Vuduvu · 06/10/2018 10:36

Great news @beanhunter, really pleased for you :)

looking4hope · 06/10/2018 10:56

beanhunter So happy for you, amazing news! Hope you feel better and you can go home soon.

Paranormalbouquet Glad you had a good night's sleep and you're feeling better. A good sleep can do wonders.

NoCatsHere Wow, 7 weeks left. Wishing you all the best. You shouldn't be thinking about work though Smile

Iswallowtoothpaste I agree with the others, symptoms don't mean much so try to stay positive. My mild nausea for example comes and goes, and I've learned to accept that I'm not always going to have every single symptom. Until proven otherwise, we're pregnant and that's all that matters.

Hope you're all having a great weekend. We're in Bournemouth for two nights and the weather is so miserable that we're still in bed Hmm

NoCatsHere · 08/10/2018 11:05

para i'm happy we are so close in due date!
toothpaste gah those damn symptoms messing with our minds and tiny specs of blood all adding to the worry - I really hope all is ok.
looking i know I wish i wasn't thinking of work but i'm freelance and have a ridiculous tight deadline. still if i get it done i can be so happy and have a well earned maternity leave!
bean great news about the scan - 12+2 is an amazing milestone. hope your bloods are all ok too.

sprinkleofsunshine · 08/10/2018 18:42

Hey all, I'm having an early scan on Wednesday. Feeling much more positive and better today but the last couple of days I've been really down and anxious. Been overthinking every symptom, nausea went last fro but it's back now but feeling like is it all real.

Reason for the scan is last week I had (sorry tmi) some cm that was yellow and gloopy and it had a few dots of tan/orange/peach in it, not obviously blood but similar to what I've seen around af time before.
So of course I panicked and dr arranged this scan. I've had a gut feeling all along all will be well which went over the last few days I'm feeling positive about it all again now but I'm so anxious I think that has clouded my thinking.
It's such a long time to go waiting and hoping everything is ok without actually knowing.

Has anyone had similar to the above? I heard your plug forms around week 7 and I'm 7+4 so wondering if it's perhaps excess from thAt.

Paranormalbouquet · 08/10/2018 19:01

Sprinkle I had daily bleeding, spotting, funny coloured discharge throughout my first trimester this time. And all was well.

Nocats it’s really nice having someone around the same time. We can hopefully keep each other company through night feeds!

Vuduvu · 08/10/2018 19:26

I’m freaking out a bit this evening as not felt any flutters/twitches since 10am - I had been feeling them much more than that over the last week or so. I’m 17+5 today.

I know I’m probably being ridiculous but really could do with so reassurance!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 08/10/2018 21:37

@Vuduvu if you’re worried could you go to A&E or contact your midwife out of hours?
Not that there necessarily is anything to worry about as you’re still pretty early to be feeling movements and they’ll be fairly sporadic anyway at this stage. Just for some reassurance for you.

Vuduvu · 09/10/2018 07:59

Thanks @iswallowtoothpaste.... I felt it moving again later yesterday evening and again this morning so feeling much happier now.

Next week I have an appointment for my cervix measurement (I had a LLETZ for abnormal cells before). Wondering what that is going to be like - anyone else had one?

Hope everyone is doing ok this week. Good luck @sprinkleofsunshine for your scan tomorrow.

Paranormalbouquet · 09/10/2018 08:19

Vuduvu movements are very variable at this point. Especially if you have an anterior placenta. Not unusual to not feel it daily until much later.

Re the cervix scan I’ve had many many scans!! (My cervix was badly damaged during the birth of my DD). The scan itself is fine- it’s just a transvaginal scan usually where they will measure the length of the cervix and try to ascertain if there’s any funnelling or opening. If the length is fine they’ll probably measure it again at anomaly scan and then leave it at that; if they think it’s showing signs of shortening you’ll be offered a choice of a few options (progesterone, stitch, a special pessary or watching and waiting). As far as I know it’s unusual to have significant shortening after just one lletz unless a very large amount was taken or you have a naturally short cervix. Tommy’s have some very good clear information on it.

HidCat · 09/10/2018 11:13

@Vuduvu I'm having the same worries as some days I can feel strong movement and other days nothing but it's perfectly normal at this stage (I'm 17+4).

Miami81 · 09/10/2018 14:05

@Vuduvu @HidCat I'm at the same stage as you guys. I felt definite movements on Friday last, which was great. Since then not really anything. I have a relatively high bmi and from what I saw on my 12 week scan and the questions I asked my placenta does look like it is anterior. I am trying not to panic as I know I hadn't felt any movements at all at this stage with my dd. I did feel like a massive woosh movement last night which I know from dd was a somersault so that was fun.
They are a headwreck the movements. I try to remember how tiny it still is at this stage.
I seem to have grown a bump this week, I have had to put maternity clothes on for the first time this pregnancy. So I take that as a good sign that everything is growing at the moment.
I have definitely been keeping the worry bench warm though over the last few days.

sprinkleofsunshine · 09/10/2018 15:57

Thank you @Vuduvu Smile

Iswallowtoothpaste · 09/10/2018 16:06

@Vuduvu, I’m pleased to hear that! I do think about everyone on here throughout the day and wonder how you’re all getting on.

So lovely to have people to talk to!

Paranormalbouquet · 09/10/2018 16:48

Miami I have an anterior placenta this time and definitely felt movements less frequently in the beginning than with DD. Even now at 29 weeks they are not as strong as they were last time, definitely more dependent on baby position (and mine I’m sure!). You’ve done well to avoid maternity clothes this long! I really popped a few weeks ago and think I’m as big as I was at term last time now!

Miami81 · 09/10/2018 17:27

Thanks @Paranormalbouquet I just keep telling myself that it is all normal. But it reassuring to hear others with anterior placentas say that about the movements.
Anyway I definitely recall an 18 wk appt with my mw last time where she asked if I had felt movements and I definitely hadn't because it's written in my notes.

AnneLovesGilbert · 09/10/2018 21:01

Checking in and lovely to hear people are feeling movements! Haven’t had a thing here, 18 weeks tomorrow with a definite anterior placenta and don’t have a clue how it’ll feel.

My bump has really popped out the last 10 or so days. The progesterone bloat has been in evidence for months and then it went hard and the shape at the bottom of the curve definitely changed. 6 people have spontaneously congratulated me at work in the last few days which is sweet but also feels weird. My worrying it’s all secretly not going okay in there some days makes me feel like a complete fraud and quite exposed when people comment.

First appointment at new antenatal clinic first thing tomorrow. I know my normal consultant is away so don’t know who’ll we see or what’s on the agenda. Hope we get a scan or to hear the hb. I’ve managed to start relaxing a bit the last couple of weeks, while also trying to forget about being pregnant, but the pre appointment panic is building gradually.

Seems so silly, I know how lucky we are to have such good care and frequent monitoring. But when there’s a chance we’ll finf out it’s not okay I freak out. When we can’t possibly know I find it less stressful!

Movements will definitely help so I hope that happens and soon, though I know it could be a while.

Paranormalbouquet · 10/10/2018 08:07

Miami I’ve definitely found that the anterior placenta makes a big difference. I feel movements plenty now but they never feel quite as forceful as first time around (even when I can see a movement it never feels as strong as I might expect). Talking to others that seems pretty common with anterior placenta. I also think I notice them far less when I’m moving around or busy (which is a lot of the time!).

Anne I don’t think the prescan/appointment panic ever goes away. Or the overall worrying. It’s very hard but it’s just something I’ve come to accept as part of a difficult pregnancy.

Finding my cbt podcasts helpful and they can take the edge off the worst of it. And trying to focus on thinking about breastfeeding a second time around (cluster feeding non stop over Xmas is what I’m envisaging).

Haven’t actually bought anything or sorted through what we need so planning to face into that this weekend now. DH sensibly said that if something goes wrong we won’t be more upset because we had the pram cleaned!

29+5 today, next scan is at 32 weeks.

HidCat · 10/10/2018 11:56

@Paranormalbouquet your husband sounds very sensible. I've started buying stuff now and have it all in a drawer. We have loads from last time so very little to buy but I'm going to a second hand sale on Saturday so will see what I can get there!

Labmum · 10/10/2018 16:10

@vuduvu I hope the cervix check appointment goes well, I'm sure it will. My local trust doesn't check cervix length in pregnancy after only one LLETZ (which I have also had). But with my DS I took part in a trial which involved cervical length scans. As paranormal said its an internal scan, pretty quick and if you get a nice sonographer they'll let you have a sneaky look at baby too. As my LLETZ had obviously not had an effect last time (gave birth naturally at 38+6) I'm trying not to let my mind go into overdrive worrying about it this time.
Also as others have said movement can be very sporadic so try not to worry too much at this stage, there's so much space in there for them to hide. With my DS I would have a day or two of flutters and twitches then 3-4 days of nothing until nearer 20 weeks. This little lady is a stretcher and has been making her presence felt pretty regularly for a while despite my anterior placenta.

@Miami81 so lovely that you're feeling movements. How are you doing? Thinking of you this week.

@AnneLovesGilbert hope your appointment has gone well today, my MW doesn't do a doppler until late on (not even last week at 21 weeks!). The appointment panic never goes away but fingers crossed you feel a few flutters soon to help reassure you all is well.

@paranormal and @hidcat exciting that you're both getting organised. We're just starting to think about that now, we need to move DS out of the nursery and get him a big boys bed so I need to clear out the wardrobe in his destination room which is jam packed full of stuff he's outgrown so I'm going to sort through that to see what I can reuse and what I can pass on/donate. We also have some much bigger house project that need finishing up and I'm getting frustrated at DH's lack of urgency about it all. I think I need to make him a list!

I'm currently counting down to 24 weeks and viability, 11 days to go. I'm not seeing my MW again until 31 weeks so I'm feeling a bit "in the wind". I have a growth scan at the end of November, nothing more before then. After an intense few months it seems a long time to go with no contact. Then once November comes I'm back in again pretty frequently at 31weeks, scan at 32 weeks and 34 weeks. Then it'll be the New year and the home straight.
I'm going to take my Mum to my 28 week growth scan. I feel awful that the only scan she's been to with me was when I miscarried whilst visiting them. It was just horrible, so hopefully I can give her a nicer scan memory.
We are off on a mini-break to the coast this weekend so I can't wait. I've just felt this overwhelming need to see the sea.

Glad to see everyone doing well!

sprinkleofsunshine · 10/10/2018 18:27

Hi all.

I had my early scan today, thought I was 7+6 based on lmp although I know we dtd and I ovulated 1-2 weeks later.

Anyway, hosp said they could see sac and I was measuring 4.5mm around 6 weeks, no hb but wouldn't expect to see one yet. They've told me to go back next week for another and it's 50/50 as to whether or not it will continue. Sonagrapher told me to prepare myself for the worst

Trying to be positive but so disappointed. I'm not giving up until I know for sure but so anxious and I'm still getting all my symptoms so confused.

Have any of you any experience with this? I'm just so worried after a chemical in June and a previous mc years ago around 5-6 weeks.

Vuduvu · 10/10/2018 19:29

@sprinkleofsunshine I'm so sorry, that's so tough with the uncertainty. I've heard of similar stories both working out well and ending badly. I don't really have any good advice and I know I would be an absolute mess in this situation but sending you lots of hugs xxx

sprinkleofsunshine · 10/10/2018 20:21

Thanks @Vuduvu I'm trying to keep positive but it's so hard especially when sonographer said that.

The only thing helping is that by my dates I would only be 6 weeks. I counted from the date of lmp (16 August) as was told to which puts me at 7+6 but I ovulated around 12-13 days later on 27/28 and dtd 25/26 and 29 so by those dates 6 weeks would be exactly right. I hope it's that and I'm not clutching at straws

Paranormalbouquet · 10/10/2018 20:32

Sprinkle I think it it’s positive that it fits with your dates. I think all you can do is wait and see now- I hope the week passes as quickly as possible for you. I measured a week behind at my first scan this pregnancy but 10 days later had caught up. I’ve had the opposite experience too though so I do know how hard the waiting is.
