I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

kirinm as a fellow Londoner I have empathy. I'm struggling at 20 weeks so it must be awful for you. And I have to work this afternoon with members of the public (so need to be nicely presented) in a small, non-airconditioned, fan free room. The thermometers were reading 38 degrees last week and it was cooler then!!!!

kirinm · 06/08/2018 10:39

Oh I do not envy you @Paranormalbouquet I'm currently sat waiting for my 36 week scan and it's sweltering. The fetal medicine centre at Kings is great but it's basically a huge greenhouse!

Paranormalbouquet · 06/08/2018 11:07

UCLH has AC in the whole maternity wing. Why can't every hospital have it!!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 06/08/2018 22:24

Bit the bullet and decided on a 4D (still dunno why it's called this!) scan for Thursday afternoon. I think it's the only time during this past year that I'm actually looking forward to a scan and the nerves have dropped a bit. Maybe because I had one a few weeks ago, who knows.

They should be doing a growth scan at the same time so it'll be interesting to see where we're at now. I'm 30 weeks on Wednesday and I think I'm starting to just hit a stage of massive relief even though I'm aware shit can still go down during this time. Also I start maternity leave tomorrow which is nice as trying to get that sorted and confirmed has been so bloody stressful!

Flatwhite32 · 07/08/2018 08:29

I gave birth on a day it was around 30C. Sweaty doesn't cover it, haha!
@UnicornsandRainbows1 you'll love the 4D scan. It's fun comparing your baby (when they're here) to the images too!
@FoxtrotSkarloey congratulations! Hope all is well.
@Paranormalbouquet I had elevated resistance which resulted in induction. One of my readings was off the scale, but they monitored it carefully and my little girl is fine Smile.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 07/08/2018 09:09

@Flatwhite32 I hope so, although I don't foresee her playing ball with this scan either Grin How is everything going your end? Smile

NoCatsHere · 08/08/2018 10:57

Anne so happy to see your name back on here. Really hoping for the absolute best for you.

foxtrot congrats on your little one, such love ynews.

bluespotty hope your sweep went ok, maybe you have even had your baby by now?

labmum welcome - and congrats on the 12 week scan.

para and kepp so sorry you still have worries, i hope all is ok.
i'm 25 weeks today and so happy to be a good week past the magic 24, feeling lots of movement now and getting really excited. bought a sleepyhead and bugaboo bee off eBay which was all i really needed as we have lots from the two ds before. A friend also gave me some cute winter hats and knitted booties and i can't believe how small they are! I have loads to get done work wise (i'm self employed) before baby comes mid november. So i'm thinking time will just fly by now!

keeponrunning85 · 08/08/2018 12:39

I've been for another scan and to clinic again this morning. Baby is still flipping around all over the place so I've been admitted to the ward and have a section booked for a week today. It is going to be a long and boring week but I'm relieved to be admitted and am on the final countdown now.

I hope everyone else is doing ok. Sorry to not check back, only managed to get internet sorted in the new house just before we came to the hospital.

Paranormalbouquet · 08/08/2018 13:23

Unicorns I hope you really enjoy the 4D scan (the fourth dimension is movement of 3D images!). Can be nice to have scans that are not all about finding problems.

Flatwhite that’s very reassuring to hear- one of my readings is very very high also but other one isn’t too bad so hoping it will be ok.

Nocats you are very organised! I’ve clearly been totally in denial as only just bought some maternity clothes this week, let alone baby things! Will have to do a stocktake of what we need soon- have a pram and a large cot. Will need new car seat as DDs has a 5 year expiration and all the miscarriages have meant a much bigger age gap than planned!

Keep sorry you’ve been admitted. It really is so boring, please feel free to come on here as often as you like! Good to hear there’s an end date in sight now. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Labmum · 08/08/2018 15:39

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Can any of you give me some insight into what extra monitoring you've had from the recurrent miscarriage obstetric team? I've got an appointment with them tomorrow and I'm a bit concerned that they're just going to throw me into the wind and leave me to stew for 8 weeks until my 20 week scan and I've heard via a friend that the MW who does the 16 week appointment won't do a doppler so early either!
At my booking in appointment the midwife said she usually helps on the RMC obstetric clinic and she thought they'd not want to monitor me as my 3 miscarriages weren't consecutive which isn't reassuring in the slightest!

@UnicornsandRainbows1 enjoy the 4D scan!

@Keeponrunning85 not long now! Good luck, hope you have lots of programs downloaded onto an ipad or something to keep you entertained (those hospital TVs are such a rip off!).

@NoCats it must be such a relief to get past the 24 week mark! Nice to be feeling more movement too. I don't think I'll start to relax until I can feel movement.

@Paranormalbouquet did you open the gender letter yet? You are so restrained if you haven't!

I had a friend around last night and I told her our news, shes due a month before me. She started saying how exciting it was we would be off together and all the nice things we could do on mat leave and it just made me feel so uncomfortable. I just can't think that far ahead yet, I can't get excited, I can't look any further ahead than the next appointment and it makes me sad for all of us on this thread that we can't have that rose-tinted pregnancy excitement! None of us will truly relax until our babies are safely here in our arms, which is understandable but also really shit!

Labmum · 08/08/2018 15:41

Did anyone see the poem that was posted on the tommys page, it just describes how I feel about my losses perfectly!

psitsamumthing.com/a-letter-to-the-child-i-lost-to-miscarriage/

Paranormalbouquet · 08/08/2018 15:52

Labmum the RMC team discharged me after a good scan at 10 weeks. I'm being followed up regularly in the Preterm Prevention clinic though so that might be why. I'm the same, don't think I will relax until I have baby in arms. DH doesn't want to know gender but I think I have a fair idea after scan last week!

Was having a lot more movement finally the last few days but very quiet again today. Having a poke about I can feel baby's bulk is over on my right side where my anterior placenta is mainly so hoping that's the reason.

somethingfromnothing · 08/08/2018 18:04

I had my scan today at 13 weeks. Can’t quite believe that it went okay. It was hard when they mentioned that this was my 8th pregnancy and we only have one dd. It’s more or less out in the open now which I feel quite anxious about but I’m allowing myself to be a little bit excited today.

Hope everyone is well. keepon it’s rubbish being in hospital for that long but at least you have a date to count down to now.

HidCat · 08/08/2018 18:08

@somethingfromnothing I'm so glad all was good at the scan. Allow yourself to embrace that relief, hopefully it's a smooth ride from here for you after all you've been through.

NoCatsHere · 08/08/2018 18:15

para how many weeks are you? Sorry I can never remember! I have days when movementnis strong and others when I’ve not felt much at all, I have a placenta at the front too so think that’s why.

Also I guess it sounds organised - I think because I knew the two things I actually needed/wanted this time I was watching on eBay for ages to see prices and particular the bugaboo was near me and a bargain at £60! I have everything else though, clothes, baby bath, cot etc so it was only those things I actually needed!

Everyone I know has raves about the sleepyhead so thought I’d give it a whirl!

keep I’m sorry you’ve been kept in, and so soon after your move, it must be annoying not to be at home nesting/sorting but try as you can to relax this week and enjoy reading and drinking hot cups of tea. I’m so excited for you that you’ll meet your baby in a week!

NoCatsHere · 08/08/2018 18:16

something so glad your scan went well, it really is a lovely milestone to get to, I hope time speeds up a bit for you now.

Labmum · 08/08/2018 18:32

@somethingfromnothing congratulations on the scan. I'm 13 weeks this week too with #2 so we can keep each other company on this journey.

keeponrunning85 · 09/08/2018 09:30

Thanks for all the kind words ladies. I think the days are going to be long but it is just a matter of days now! One lady I was chatting to has to stay in for 4 weeks until her section so it could definitely be worse.

Great news in the scan something.

Labmum I just had reassurance scans at my RMC until my dating scan and then I was passed on toe standard antenatal care. My midwife doesn't listen with a doppler at 16 weeks either and I felt like the stretch to the 20 week scan was too long so booked a private one. They did a quick anomaly type check too and I think that helped me manage my anxiety for the 20 week scan as I already knew all the organs were present and correct. I hope your appointment goes well today.

beanhunter · 09/08/2018 14:06

Can I cautiously join you? I was on the ttc thread with many of you after our mmc (exactly a year ago today) and recognise many of your names - especially flat white as think we were very close in time.
I’ve had 2 more cycles of ivf since then and found out earlier this week that the second has worked. I would be just over 4 weeks. To say I’m terrified doesn’t quite do it justice, I am so so scared to even hope this might go ok.

Lovely to see many of you with successes. Hope I can hang around. Only symptom so far is sore boobs.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 09/08/2018 14:37

@beanhunter I remember you :) So glad to see you here and really hope that everything works out.

Labmum · 09/08/2018 15:17

Welcome @beanhunter got everything crossed for you that this time works out.

@keeponrunning85 thanks for your response, thats what I was worried they would do with me too because 8 weeks of unknown is just too much to bear.

I took hubby with me for moral support in case I needed to argue my point of extra monitoring but thankfully they have said they will see me at 16 weeks and will then arrange extra growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks. Its a huge relief that I didn't have to push for it and hopefully they'll let me listen in to the heartbeat at 16 weeks which my MW apparently doesn't do. So won't be seeing the community midwife until 21 weeks now.

Flatwhite32 · 09/08/2018 17:35

@beanhunter I am overjoyed to see you on here. Congratulations! Yes, we are approaching the 1 year mark of our MMC. Sorry yours was a year ago today Sad. I have everything crossed for you this time round. Really, really hope this is your sticky bean. Xx

BertieBotts · 09/08/2018 18:12

Beanhunter I recognise your name too :)

I had an appointment today and baby is engaged! Woohoo :) 37+4 but could be anything up to a week ahead of that which means it will soon be go time.

NoCats, that's a great deal! Just double check everything is present and correct. We only realised at the last minute we had to order carrycot connectors for our pram and you can't officially buy them separately because they changed the car seat they do with it, which used to be the same connectors as the carrycot. Later the carrycot connectors come with the carrycot only and can't be bought separately. Hmm Luckily we managed to find them online in the UK because the German company wanted €25 for EACH - left and right! WTF. And then we were going to have to buy car seat adaptors on top of that. So we've managed to get them from the UK site instead and fingers crossed it's the right thing.

@beanhunter congratulations! I sincerely hope this is the one for you.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 09/08/2018 19:50

Well we're having a rescan in a couple of days as she just wanted to show everyone her beautiful legs Grin She does seems to be measuring a bit better during this scan so that's always reassuring she has turned around and is semi breach/transerve again now Hmm
