I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

Well I had my 20 week scan today and now have something else to worry about 😭
Everything was fine, all measurements were as they should be, baby was wriggling around but right at the end of our 30min appointment she noticed some fluid around the heart that was flagging up as not normal.
She sent an email to another team to check the pictures and told us we’d wait about a week to hear back. Well I just had a phone call to say they want me back in for another scan tomorrow at the fetal cardiac unit and I’m terrified as they’ve called us back so fast!!

Why can’t things just go smoothly?! Really hope it’s nothing but I can’t help but worry now 😭😫

CobaltRose · 02/08/2018 14:55

So sorry to hear that @mummyjl15. I hope everything turns out okay, I've got everything crossed for you!

Saw our little peanut again today. Now measuring a day ahead (8w4d instead of 8w3d), and peanut has doubled in size since last week!

They have little arms and legs now, and we saw them dancing away on the screen. Best feeling in the world ❤

Ah mummyjl I hope it's nothing serious, it's good that they want to rescan ASAP, I'm sure it's just so you're not left worrying about it.

I took a GBS test and it's come back positive so I'll need to have antibiotics in labour. That's annoying but I think it's good that I decided to take the test or we wouldn't have known and it would have been horrible to deal with a newborn infection on top of everything else we've had to deal with.

mummyjl15 I hope it's nothing serious. Don't panic about the speed of the cardiac review, they often only have them once a week so will have got you in as there's a slot. I don't know anything about fluid around heart at 20 weeks but I can say that with DD a problem was picked up on scan (kidney issues). We saw lots of specialists and had scans every 2-4 weeks and in the end was found to be nothing serious.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll have answers (and good news) tomorrow.

Cobalt congratulations!

Paranormalbouquet · 02/08/2018 15:31

Bertie definitely better to know, antibiotics in labour are not a big deal.

BertieBotts · 02/08/2018 17:19

Yep I can still have my waterbirth and be active which were the two most important things to me. So I'm not going to worry about it at all.

@mummy that’s stressful for you, I hope it’s nothing. Be thinking of you tomorrow.

@maverick welcome! Same as para- symptoms for me have meant nothing. This pregnancy has had the least of all but appears to be going well (21 weeks).

Labmum · 02/08/2018 18:08

Hi ladies,

I hope you don't mind me joining? I've been hanging around on the TTC after recurrent miscarriage thread. I've just had my 12 week scan today so thought I'd say hello to you all. I'm still really anxious but so relieved today went well. Now to wait for nuchal results.

@BertieBotts I tested positive for GBS when I had my DS, they didn't have time to give me antibiotics in labour as he was in a hurry so he ended up on antibiotics after birth and we were kept in for a few days until his blood culture results came back. Not ideal but at least you know there's back up options if things don't go exactly to plan!

BertieBotts · 02/08/2018 18:35

Oh Labmum I thought I recognised your name, lovely to see you here :)

I'll be staying in for 3 days anyway as standard in Germany (I hope it's not too hot!) so I'm sure they'll be able to sort everything out which is needed.

@mummyjl15 try not to worry, whatever it is may correct itself in the womb or be quickly treated at birth so 🤞 it's all ok. Better to know quickly than worry for another week.

@BertieBotts I had the antibiotics with my DS and to be honest I barely noticed. Just like @Labmum labour was too quick so got a bonus stay at hospital which I was actually really grateful for.

@Labmum I'm glad all went well for you. Welcome and congratulations!

@FoxtrotSkarloey Beautiful news! Hope you both are well :)

mummyjl15 · 03/08/2018 13:12

Hey everyone! Great news! After our fetal cardiac scan today it’s been confirmed all is fine with my little bean. Can’t wait to meet him/her in December!

Huge congratulations @FoxtrotSkarloey 💙💙

Paranormalbouquet · 03/08/2018 13:44

Baby looks fine on scan but elevated resistance in placental vessels. So obviously now I get to continue worrying. Apparently a 20% chance of pre eclampsia or small baby. More scans at 28, 32, 36 weeks.

Paranormalbouquet · 03/08/2018 13:53

Oh and congratulations mummyj!

mummyjl15 · 03/08/2018 14:10

Thanks @Paranormalbouquet !

Sorry to hear you still have som worrying :-( 20% is still low though so try not to worry.
As I was on antibiotics for my fractured finger I’ve now developed thrush which is just what I need in this hot weather! Seems to be one thing after another at the moment!
I’m now taking probiotics as advised by my doctor and apparently taking them can also reduce the risk of pre eclampsia and premature birth. Might be worth speaking to your doctor to ask if it can help you?
I’m not on medicine, he just told me to have natural yogurt and a yakult daily to give my body some good bacteria :)

Paranormalbouquet · 03/08/2018 14:34

I had terrible thrush after my surgery- canestan creams and pessaries are safe if you need them. My consultant said she wasn’t terribly surprised given the amount of scarring in my uterus. Nothing to do but keep an eye and keep fingers crossed.

Labmum · 03/08/2018 16:15

@paranormalbouquet sorry to hear that today's scan had given you more to worry about! At least they're keeping a close eye on you and extra opportunities to see baby. I've known a couple of people have low birth weight baby's and both children have now caught up, they were just very hungry for the first few weeks! Did you find out if you're team blue or team pink?

Anxiousfeelings · 03/08/2018 17:16

@mummyjl that’s great!
@para sorry to hear you have something else to stress about but at least they seem to be taking good care of you.

@cobalt congratulations!

@labmum welcome and congratulations on the 12 week scan

@ foxtrot that’s lovely, so nice to hear these positive outcomes!

I have a bit of a strange question. I know a few people have said that they have an anterior placenta. Does anyone have tenderness around the belly button when they press gently? And is this maybe to do with the placental position? I have a mid wife appointment next week so will ask her, but just wondered if this has happened to anyone else? I have no other pain or discomfort.

HidCat · 03/08/2018 19:07

@FoxtrotSkarloey congratulations!

@mummyjl15 I'm so glad all was well at the scan.

@Paranormalbouquet I'm sure it will be fine, the important thing is they're monitoring to be on the safe side, just think though - extra scans, yey!

@Anxiousfeelings I've not come across that one I'm afraid. Definitely a question for the midwife.

Paranormalbouquet · 03/08/2018 19:58

Anxious I do and I have the same tenderness. Who knows if it’s related.

Welcome Labmum!!! Great to see you here!!

Thanks everyone, I’m less worried now I’m home. Looks like it’s a recently introduced screening test, and may or may not be of significance. As you all say means extra scans so that’s good.

They were a bit rough with my cervical scan, had some bleeding which my logical mind knows is just irritation but it’s always horrible to see. I’ll go in tomorrow if it doesn’t settle. Looks like my abdominal stitch was definitely the right call, cervix was barely found (hence the rough scan!), but stitch in good place.

Feeling a little more movement the last 2 days, although still muffled. Hoping they continue to pick up now.

keeponrunning85 · 04/08/2018 10:21

Hello ladies. Just quickly checking back in. Everything has been manic since we moved house on Tuesday. Fortunately it all went smoothly and my parents came and helped for 2 days so we've made massive progress with unpacking.

Foxtrot huge congratulations on the safe arrival of your little one.

Great news for everyone who has had positive scans these past few days.

Paranormal sorry your scan wasn't as straightforward. I have found the small baby worries difficult but the extra scans have helped and I've felt very well looked after.

I had another growth scan on Wednesday. All was ok from a growth perspective and it has managed to stay above the 10th centile. However it was back to being sideways so we can now add unstable lie to the list of woes! I have to go for another scan on Wednesday. If it is head down I'll get induced then, if not it'll be a section at 39 weeks. I'm trying not to spend all my time worrying about cord prolapse. The consultant did offer admission if I wanted it but I didn't want to spend potentially 2 weeks sitting around in hospital. So I'm desperately hoping baby will be head down on Wednesday and we can just get them out and safely here.

Paranormalbouquet · 06/08/2018 07:13

Keep great news that growth has stabilised. And that the move went well!

Hopefully your little one will be head down next scan but if not just think that you’ll meet soon either way! I won’t say not to worry as I know that won’t help but I’ll keep everything crossed for you.

I’m hoping all will be ok with growth. With DD initial scans predicted she would be small, then later ones predicted a HUGE baby. She was born just below the 50th centile so I have minimal faith in growth scans now!

kirinm · 06/08/2018 10:26

I'm in a totally unreasonable mood. Non-pregnant people telling me how they're struggling in the heat. I AM AWARE OF HOW BLOODY HOT IT IS AND I DO NOT CARE IF YOU ARE HOT. BlushGrin
