I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

flatwhite, massive congratulations, she’s absolutely beautiful.

Popping in to say a quick high. Back on the rollercoaster again, 7+2 today, sixth pregnancy would you believe.

Not getting attached just yet, had a scan which under my Rmc at 5+5 and all looked fine for dates. Back again Wednesday.

Trying pred, aspirin, fragmin and cyclogest. We’ll see how it goes Smile Feels a bit unreal at the moment. No diagnosis to explain previous losses so my consultant is cautious but taking the kitchen sink approach for which we’re grateful.

Wonderful to see so many pregnancies progressing well for the lovely poeple I remember.

HidCat · 29/07/2018 16:45

@AnneLovesGilbert keeping everything crossed for you. Hoping that this is the one - miracles do happen!

FuckMyUterus · 29/07/2018 18:32

annelovesgilbert so pleased to see you on this thread! You helped me a lot when I had a few losses last year, hope everything goes fantastically for you!

keeponrunning85 · 29/07/2018 20:35

Welcome back Anne! I desperately hope this one works out for you. Everything crossed for Wednesday.

Apologies for the lack of name checking but great news to those who had positive scans last week and welcome to the newcomers.

I'm exhausted after a weekend of prepping for the house move. The removal company are coming to pack everything tomorrow and then we move on Tuesday. Just having one last soak in our lovely roll top bath before we move to a 90s beauty of a bathroom!

I hope everyone is enjoying slightly cooler temperatures after the rain. I certainly am.

AnneLovesGilbert · 29/07/2018 20:36

Oh my god, and you! You’re knocked up!!!! Congratulations. What brilliant news. How far along?

It’s early days here and we’re honestly not wildly optimistic yet but wanted to mark my place just in case Smile

FuckMyUterus · 29/07/2018 20:48

Very knocked up! I'm 13+3 and to be honest it still doesn't seem real, I had a mini freak out the other day, as (horrible as it sounds) I've been so focused on getting pregnant and staying pregnant that it's hit me like a train that I might be actually getting another real, live baby out of this. I'm not used to that realisation anymore.
I'm so pleased for you though, I think about you often (in a totally non creepy way) and wonder how things are going for you.

AnneLovesGilbert · 29/07/2018 21:02

I’m thrilled to bits for you, so so pleased Smile

Not creepy at all! I’m touched, thank you. I’ve had so much kindness over the years too and become incredibly invested in people’s stories and feel so happy when they get their babies.

Thank you keepon Smile Feels a bit early to be here but I was thinking of you all, found the thread and had a quick catch up. Beautiful healthy take home babies at the end of such exhausting journeys are amazing. Here’s to many more.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 29/07/2018 22:36

Really pleased to see you here, Anne - wishing so very much that this one is the one for you.

Sorry if I missed a post, keepon, but have you had final growth scan yet? Hoping for reassuring news for you

mummyjl15 · 29/07/2018 23:01

Crossing everything for you @AnneLovesGilbert ! Hope this is a sticky one!

mummyjl15 · 29/07/2018 23:06

So I’ve been a bit of a clumsy idiot and managed to shut my finger in my car door and now have a fracture and bandaged finger with a sling for recovery for the next month 😫
Problem is the doctor has suggested having minor surgery to check for infection and give a thorough clean which will involve local anaesthetic. Now I’m already on antibiotics for this which are supposedly ok during pregnancy but I’m really unsure about going ahead with the surgery due to the LA. I know it’s meant to be perfectly safe and chance of anything affecting the baby is really really minor...but then the change of 3 recurrent miscarriages after a successful pregnancy is also really low so I can’t help but worry!

I’m thinking I’ll see how it heals over the next 24hours but having had a check up today they already said it’s healing well and no sign of infection so the surgery just seems a bit pointless if there’s even the smallest risk to the baby.

Had I not have had my MCs I wouldn’t even think about it and just take the doctors advice but I can’t help but be cautious with everything now 😫

BertieBotts · 29/07/2018 23:17

mummy could you have it done with a local anaesthetic maybe? I injured my finger last year and had to have the tendons reattached (and the nerves - which didn't work) and I was given the choice of local or general. I chose general - but as it's a finger it seems like local ought to be an option? You could defo also ask to see if wait and see in terms of infection is a possibility too, though.

Anne lovely to see you here again, really hope this is the one for you. Fingers and toes and everything crossed :)

It's not very much cooler here :( we only had a very brief, dry thunderstorm with a bit of a shower. And supposed to be even hotter again next week, more like 33-36, so I am rather fed up with it all TBH. I don't know if I can actually do labour in heat like this - I can't seem to do anything else so I am feeling a bit anxious about it. Hopefully he hangs on for another 2-3 weeks and it will cool down a bit more. Or I go into labour at night or something :)

Hi everyone, welcome Anne! Keeping everything crossed for you this time.

I took a week off work and stayed offline. Was very relaxing and quiet and just what I needed. Haven’t caught up on everyone yet but I’ll try at lunchtime!

mummyjl15 don’t worry about local anaesthetic, it doesn’t get into bloodstream and is very safe. I’ve had a general anaesthetic in this pregnancy and am reassured that it is safe when necessary if that helps. You poor thing, sounds very painful.

I’m 19 weeks now, 20 week scan on Friday. Still have only occasional muffled movements unless baby is over on left side- hating the anterior placenta! Can go days without feeling anything so hoping it will increase soon. Although the placenta seems to have attached to the only scar tissue free area of my uterus so I should be thankful really.

Panicking about scan as we all on here do. DD had a kidney problem picked up at hers, which caused huge amounts of stress but ultimately had needed no treatment and caused her no trouble since delivery. Can run in families though so will need an extra anomaly scan at 32 weeks either way.

kirinm · 30/07/2018 10:53

@Paranormalbouquet I have an anterior placenta and I didn't start getting any proper movement until about 21 weeks. They got stronger but I'm not one of those who has seen limbs. Finally managed to capture some obvious movement on camera yesterday. I'm 35 weeks!

Paranormalbouquet · 30/07/2018 10:57

Thanks Kirin I do logically know I’m probably lucky to feel anything at all at 19weeks with anterior placenta. With DD it was posterior and felt lots at this point. Fingers crossed it will cease to worry me in a few weeks!

Hating maternity clothes but really need to get some! Now weather is (temporarily) cooler I’ve taken out my old maternity jeans but they just fall down! And the under the bump ones dig into scar from surgery so think I’ll be sticking to dresses this time!

HidCat · 30/07/2018 11:52

@Paranormalbouquet I'm 7weeks and just bit the bullet buying maternity jeans as my regular ones are a bit tight, it depends how bloated so am though. How have you managed to get to 19weeks without them?😯

Paranormalbouquet · 30/07/2018 11:58

Well I’ve mostly not been wearing trousers! Was still fitting into my high waisted jeans pre surgery (11weeks), but post surgery I couldn’t bear anything around tummy so was in leggings/harem pants or dresses. As it’s been so hot the past 6 weeks I’ve only really worn dresses anyway. So I wouldn’t say I’m only needing stretchy trousers now!! I bought a pair of “treggings” in m+s in a 16 (usually a 14) after my last miscarriage as was very very bloated due to infection/erpc and they are still fitting ok. But basically have almost nothing to wear at the moment!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 30/07/2018 12:14

Just got back from midwife appointment and saw the midwife who booked me in (she said she'll see me again - I wasn't very hopeful ofc) which was nice. After a crappy morning where HR have said my manager still hasn't sorted out my maternity leave onto the system (which should be next week 😒) it turns out that baby is sort of head down, by my hip, but I'll take it given that she was transverse last week; uterus is measuring 29 weeks (I'm 28+5 and last time it was measuring a week behind) and I have now booked in all of my midwife appointments until due date which is exciting terrifying

Paranormalbouquet · 30/07/2018 13:26

UnicornsandRainbows1 that sounds like all is going well. Don’t worry about position at the moment- I had scans every 2 weeks from 20 weeks on with DD and she didn’t settle into head down until 32 or so. I’m hoping I don’t keep seeing the midwife I had at 16 weeks who kept trying to refer me to a psychologist to discuss my “fears” of a natural birth. She didn’t seem to understand thar the abdominally placed cerclage I have means that I can’t deliver vaginally!

mummyjl15 · 30/07/2018 13:31

I’ve spoken to my GP who’s checked my finger and agrees surgery isn’t essential so no need to go ahead with it if I’m happy to leave it. I just prefer to not have any kind of medication/pain relief etc throughout pregnancy unless absolutely essential so it just seems silly to go with the local anaesthetic procedure when it’s not really needed.

I’m so excited for my 20 week scan on Thursday!!! Counting down the days/minutes/seconds 😊

Paranormalbouquet · 01/08/2018 09:47

mummyjl15 I hope your finger is healing. Good luck with scan tomorrow- mine is Friday, late morning (probably early afternoon really!). I’m terrified rather then excited but I know if it’s ok I’ll relax a bit. There’s a seraphine shop near the hospital so am going to take a look there after if all goes well. Was putting off buying as it’s been so hot and it’s a December baby but looks like heatwave is back after a very short reprieve so am thinking dresses/skirts and cardigans for layering when colder might be the way to go!

Has anyone found comfortable maternity trousers/jeans that stay up?! Ideally over bump as under seems to irritate my scar, and cut for the enormous of arse/thigh?!

BertieBotts · 01/08/2018 09:58

I just live in overbump leggings. I have no idea where most of mine are from as they came from other people but I have loads of different brands and they all seem the same. I have them in grey and black and wear long tops with them to cover the cameltoe effect Blush

OP posts:
Paranormalbouquet · 01/08/2018 10:25

I’m in leggings at home but have a fairly professional job and am managing with a skirt from last time, a few dresses and loose tops. However the loose tops are rapidly becoming tight tops now! Thankfully August is a month of marking dissertations rather than face to face teaching for me (I’m lecturing at the moment, with one day a week of patient contact as a HCP). But come September I’ll need more formal clothes! I think my denial of the pregnancy held the bump in a bit but it’s well and truly popped now!

somethingfromnothing · 01/08/2018 19:06

I had great maternity trousers from new look which I used for work when I was pregnant with dd. They actually had stuff in store unlike many that just stock online.

I will be 12 weeks on Friday and have my scan a week today. Starting to get very anxious again. I work in a lab and because there’s a few things that are high risk, most people now know that I’m pregnant. I’m finding that really difficult. I know that they are all so happy and excited for me but im just not there yet. I still don’t believe this is going to happen.

maverick79 · 02/08/2018 04:57

Hi, may I join? I'm 5 weeks on Friday. 5th pregnancy, #1 m/c, #2 twin m/c, #3 beautiful daughter who is now 2 years 7 months, #4 m/c in May 2018. Noticing the anxiety creeping up on me, particularly the symptom spotting, is that nausea or is it the heat/my imagination? Etc On cyclogest and have 6 wk scan booked a week today. Thought perhaps checking in with others with similar experience may help.

Paranormalbouquet · 02/08/2018 09:23

Something I had great trousers from there last time too, but they are under the bump which just won’t work for me now. I took a look last week and didn’t see any over the bump there but I’ll keep an eye out.

Maverick welcome! We’ve all been where you are. The first trimester is so hard (and the second, and third I suspect!). If it helps symptoms seem to mean very little to me at least. Had no nausea at with my only successful pregnancy to date. Severe nausea with my MMC. None with my 2 5-6 week losses. And very variable this time, episodes of nausea lasting a few hours then none again for days.

Mummyj good luck today!
