Irritable and emotional - is labour near? Not enjoying pregnancy

I am 38 weeks and Although I am greatful for the little life growing inside me, have not enjoyed being pregnant one bit. 4 months of constant morning sickness (nausea and vometing) followed by what I can only describe as my fanny bone being snapped in half, sleepless nights (having to wake up when i need to roll over thanks to my pelvic pain), constant heart burn and water retention has left me feeling very down

For the past two weeks I’ve had pains in my lower back and stomach. Me and DH think it’s time and then they go away...for days!! The midwife said i was in early labour a week ago. Now i feel incredibly irritated. The irritation wakes me up in the night it feels like it’s radiating out of me. I’ve been incredibly emotional today and been in tears all day. I’m incredibly tired all the time but not sleeping. Did anyone have this before they went into labour? I’m still waiting for the nesting- my bump is so heavy and hips are sore I can’t do much.

I know everyone is different but I just need someone to tell me that I feel this rotton because he’s on his way out!!!

@2good 3/4 days in the grand scheme of the last 9 months is nothing! It's going to drag like anything though so you have my sympathies! Good luck and keep us updated! X

GlitteryFluff · 15/06/2018 06:37

Good luck today OP

LuckygoLucy · 15/06/2018 09:22

Good Luck today fingers crossed for you both being induced today!! Hopefully will get to meet your beautiful bubbas soon!! xxx

TinyTerror1 · 15/06/2018 09:58

I just wanted to say I'm loving this thread as it's one of the few positive threads on here (in spite of the title Grin). I'm not quite 24 weeks even, so I have no 'right' to be posting, but congratulations on your births to plainK and carringtonm and good luck today to the OP and everyone else hoping that today is the day!

GrumpySausage · 15/06/2018 10:21

Hi everyone, I posted early on as was feeling a very GrumpySausage! Things have moved on slightly since then- had a mad week of hospital appointments.

Had midwife last week who found baby was breech. Went for ECV yesterday but when examined consultant decided it wouldn't be wise to try and move baby due to its position and the late stage of pregnancy (39 weeks). So I've been booked in for a c section on Wednesday.

Just need to hold on until then. Although initially a bit shocked st having to have a c section I have to admit a little bit of me thought 'is tomorrow an option for the c section?!'. My back is killing me!

Congratulations to all the new mummies and good luck to those who are near! Thanks

LuckygoLucy · 15/06/2018 10:38

Hello... @tinyterror1 congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm very happy that this thread was created!! As these lovely ladies totally understand!!.

@EmmaJR1 I think your right on the old BH stupid body haha. How are you feeling today?

Hi @grumpysausage. Sounds complicated but at least now you know what's going to happen now. if baby turns will they still do c section or is this it now?

@Carringtonm are you home now? How is bubba doing?

EmmaJR1 · 15/06/2018 10:44

@TinyTerror1 welcome! Congratulations you're over half way!! Humour us the only way forward otherwise you'll lose your mind!!!!

EmmaJR1 · 15/06/2018 10:45

@GrumpySausage The end is in sight. Your baby will be here safely and that's all that matters! Good luck for Wednesday. My baby better be here before that or my head might pop off!! 😂

GrumpySausage · 15/06/2018 10:47

@LuckygoLucy I've no appointments/scans before I go in on Wednesday so I'm not sure what will happen if they check on the day and baby has turned? In fact I will ring my midwife and ask.
Everything has been such a rush last few days as they only found out at 38 weeks that baby was breech (despite them initially suspecting so at 35 weeks) that I haven't really had time to process what is happening. I did finally get to speak to a lovely consultant yesterday who was able to talk me through everything.
This is my 2nd child and there was no issues with DS1 labour. I've been very surprised with the lack of communication between different departments and sectors this time. Individually all the staff have been lovely and helpful but the handover between community midwives/two different hospitals and consultants had been terrible. They seem terribly overstretched but doing the best they can. The quality of care has been good though just frustrating how long things take.

EmmaJR1 · 15/06/2018 10:48

@LuckygoLucy I feel strangely buoyant today, a bit hyper maybe?

I was orchestrating the painting of the living room last night and we have a bedroom carpet being fitted today so I've been rearranging furniture upstairs and down....

My poor dh has been run ragged with DIY this week...

I think I've finally lost it! 😂😂😂

2good · 15/06/2018 10:51

Hello tinyterror Smile
carrington well done getting through that, it's all behind you now and great baby is starting to latch.
plaink hope you're getting on well with the new little one
babyrowlandsmummy best of luck today! I know it's scary. Doc told me you try and get as much sleep add possible the night before, so naturally I got none at all last night either 😂.
grumpysausage good luck for Wednesday too and hope you have someone to look after you while you recover
Here's to all June babies!! Flowers

GrumpySausage · 15/06/2018 10:51

@EmmaJR1 that sounds like nesting! Could be a sign!

The night before DS arrived I had an urge to cook a tuna pasta bake. Considering up until that point I'd never used our oven (thank god for dh) I should have sensed something was happening! It was a lovely tuna bake if I do say so myself. Smile

2good · 15/06/2018 12:08

Yeah that sounds like nesting alright! I've had so much extra time to nest that I've organised my house within an inch of it's life and then still had time to do it again!

BumpInTheOven · 15/06/2018 13:03

@plainK congratulations.. !! xx

Feeling mopey today, had a failed sweep... F#*K me that hurt.. so now booked in Sunday!!! Light at the end of the tunnel!! x

EmmaJR1 · 15/06/2018 13:06

Anyone who knows me would fall down faint if they saw me lately. I hate housework! I only agreed to marry dh if he bought a bloody dishwasher! 😂

Carpet is laid and I've hoovered but obviously I can't put the bed back so I'm now organising ds1 toys!!!

I'm thinking of all you ladies today. You seem to all gave the worst of it and I'm getting off easy today. Sending you love 💕
X

LuckygoLucy · 15/06/2018 14:58

@EmmaJR1 nesting time 😆😆 I completely agree with that dishwasher comment very valid that lol

@Bumpintheoven I'm sorry the sweep failed. Is it an induction or c section you'll be booked into?

Anyone else clean the house to an inch to have either partner/other child/ animal mess it all up it's very frustrating lol...I went through a furniture building stage last couple of weeks love ikea 😳...
@2good are you all ready for tonight? xxx

BumpInTheOven · 15/06/2018 15:08

@LuckygoLucy it's for an induction... 😁

EmmaJR1 · 15/06/2018 15:15

Ok not to jump the gun but I'm having mild discomfort from my lower back to pelvis and intense pressure like I need to fart!!!! This is happening quite frequently if irregularly!

I'm getting all excited!

LuckygoLucy · 15/06/2018 15:51

🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 I'll get my hopes up for you!! Keep us updated 😁.

@Bumpintheoven... Ah induction ... I think you ladies are all so brave!

xx

2good · 15/06/2018 18:04

Best of luck bumpintheoven. I'm just heading into hospital now. It's really surreal, calmly sitting in car, strolling up the road-i had pictured early labour at home, the panicked trip to the hospital Shock.. I suppose that's one good thing about induction

BumpInTheOven · 15/06/2018 18:20

@2good I think I like the knowing.. easier to plan sorting dog/kids etc good luck xx

EmmaJR1 · 15/06/2018 21:02

So quick update!

My gorgeous dd was born at 630 after a 36 minute labour.... no stitches and gas and air....

X

EmmaJR1 · 15/06/2018 21:08

I'm so bloody smug!!!sorry!!

GrumpySausage · 15/06/2018 21:25

Wow @EmmaJR1 that's amazing! Congratulations Thanks

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 15/06/2018 21:28

Sorry ladies I’ve just been following this thread, not pregnant (dh and I are suffering from secondary infertility) but started reading the other night and have loved reading about your pregnancies/delivery’s. Just wanted to say congratulations to you all x
