Irritable and emotional - is labour near? Not enjoying pregnancy

I am 38 weeks and Although I am greatful for the little life growing inside me, have not enjoyed being pregnant one bit. 4 months of constant morning sickness (nausea and vometing) followed by what I can only describe as my fanny bone being snapped in half, sleepless nights (having to wake up when i need to roll over thanks to my pelvic pain), constant heart burn and water retention has left me feeling very down

For the past two weeks I’ve had pains in my lower back and stomach. Me and DH think it’s time and then they go away...for days!! The midwife said i was in early labour a week ago. Now i feel incredibly irritated. The irritation wakes me up in the night it feels like it’s radiating out of me. I’ve been incredibly emotional today and been in tears all day. I’m incredibly tired all the time but not sleeping. Did anyone have this before they went into labour? I’m still waiting for the nesting- my bump is so heavy and hips are sore I can’t do much.

I know everyone is different but I just need someone to tell me that I feel this rotton because he’s on his way out!!!

carringtonm · 15/06/2018 23:03

@EmmaJR1 How jammy!!! Congratulations. Enjoy being able to wee without fear!

We are finally home in our own beds after two nights in hospital. Just off to sleep now but no doubt I'll end up back on here in the early hours. Got everything crossed for those of you still waiting, and especially for @Wellfuckmeinbothears.

2good · 16/06/2018 01:54

Emma that's amazing!! I'm delighted for you (and very jealous). I got induced at 7pm, been getting contractions ever since but I don't think they're close enough together yet. The plan is to break my waters in the morning.

Currently trying to get some sleep but the girl in the next bed (separated only by a curtain) has been snoring really loudly since 10pm. Not sure how she's in the pre- labour ward if she's sleeping so soundly Confused while the rest of us are squirming around in pain listening to herConfused?

2good · 16/06/2018 06:24

wellfuckmeinbothears what a lovely message thank youSmile and I really hope things work out for you

LuckygoLucy · 16/06/2018 07:03

Good Luck today @2good.

xxx

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 16/06/2018 10:15

Thank you all for the positive vibes, no sign of period yet but feeling a bit crampy, trying not to get my hopes up!

So glad you’re home @carringtonm how did your first night go?

@2good how are you this morning? Hope you got some sleep!

EmmaJR1 · 16/06/2018 10:34

Hello, I've been thinking of everyone today. Hope everyone is happy and feeling good. I'm still all zingy and high I think x

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 16/06/2018 12:27

Aw that’s lovely Emma. How was little lady’s first night? X

plainK · 16/06/2018 16:20

Sorry ladies I've not been on in a while, had to stay in hospital. I've managed to sleep now and we've been discharged so it's all getting back to normal! I'll have to read back and see what I've missed 🙂 hopefully the news of more babies x

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 16/06/2018 16:22

Glad you’re home plainK xx

2good · 17/06/2018 04:20

I had a little girl last night (Saturday!!)... we're over the moon Smile. She was 9lbs9 Smile
It was tough going with the induction- about 27 hours in total Shock, the epidural after 22 hours was seen absolute life saver!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/06/2018 05:08

Been reading this thread due to pregnancy insomnia but I'm only 31 weeks. Already raging most of the time
My dd was born at 36wks so I've never had to experience the last month of pregnancy...

Hope the induction went well OP!
Congratulations to those who've had their babies already

@EmmaJR1 so your first labour was 6.5hrs and second 36 minutes?!!! Can I ask how long between babies? My first labour was 4 hours from first pain to baby but it was over ten years ago... did you have a home birth this time?

EmmaJR1 · 17/06/2018 06:32

Oh congratulations everyone- hope you are managing some rest and enjoying your babies! X

EmmaJR1 · 17/06/2018 06:34

@TheGrumpySquirrel my first niggle was at2 or 3 in the Afternoon but I didn't think it was a contraction. My dd was born at 626pm - I got to hospital - just- and they said active labour was 36 minutes.

It was certainly a shock I can tell you x

EmmaJR1 · 17/06/2018 06:35

@TheGrumpySquirrel it was 13 mths between births x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/06/2018 07:43

Ahh thanks ,.. I'm not gonna get my hopes up then as mine will be 13 years between births! Although they do say that your body remembers what to do. If I get a similar birth to last time I'll be very happy.

Congratulations again!

BumpInTheOven · 17/06/2018 08:40

On my way for an induction 😬 xx

Nodney · 17/06/2018 08:59

Good luck Bump! I had an induction 5 yrs ago today. Had the epidural put in before the drip and it was fine

LuckygoLucy · 17/06/2018 09:57

Congratulations @2good you went 22 hours without drugs I would have lasted 22 minutes!! xxx

Good Luck @Bumpintheoven sending lots of positivity your way

Mamas give those bubbas an extra cuddle from me and ladies waiting .... WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS lol.

Anyone heard from OP hope she okay xxx
