Irritable and emotional - is labour near? Not enjoying pregnancy

I am 38 weeks and Although I am greatful for the little life growing inside me, have not enjoyed being pregnant one bit. 4 months of constant morning sickness (nausea and vometing) followed by what I can only describe as my fanny bone being snapped in half, sleepless nights (having to wake up when i need to roll over thanks to my pelvic pain), constant heart burn and water retention has left me feeling very down

For the past two weeks I’ve had pains in my lower back and stomach. Me and DH think it’s time and then they go away...for days!! The midwife said i was in early labour a week ago. Now i feel incredibly irritated. The irritation wakes me up in the night it feels like it’s radiating out of me. I’ve been incredibly emotional today and been in tears all day. I’m incredibly tired all the time but not sleeping. Did anyone have this before they went into labour? I’m still waiting for the nesting- my bump is so heavy and hips are sore I can’t do much.

I know everyone is different but I just need someone to tell me that I feel this rotton because he’s on his way out!!!

Sorry in advance; does anyone else have or had with previous pregnancies the overwhelming urge to poo? I don’t need to go but feel so much pressure and cramps

My waters have just broken! 😳 Omg it's everywhere, in bed, at the bottom of the stairs, in the kitchen 😂 just gone through 2 pads. I'm sat on a towel.

Wish me luck guys - doesn't hurt too bad yet. Exactly like period pain. Been having back pain since last night and woke up at 2 with a bad back so had some paracetamol and went back to sleep. I'm petrified 🙈

Strokethefurrywall · 13/06/2018 04:39

Good luck plainK!
I'm not even on this thread but was passing through!!
Let us know how you get on!! Thanks

@plainK and @Babyrowlandsmummy

Wowsers - good luck - hopefully your beautiful babies will be here in a few hours.

Don't be scared - if they cry they are hungry, sleepy or need to burp! Simples!

EmmaJR1 · 13/06/2018 06:47

@Babyrowlandsmummy I'm irritated, HIGHLY emotional, tearful and have indigestion.... I'm avoiding all humans today except my poor husband who bless his heart has asked his mum to bring me some double caramel magnums home! 😂

Are you home? What did the doc say? X

chilly32045 · 13/06/2018 09:44

@Babyrowlandsmummy i am exactly the same. Labour doesn't really bother me but so scared to actually have a baby to bring home and look after.

EmmaJR1 · 13/06/2018 12:06

I have my magnum caramel! Things are looking up!

EmmaJR1 · 13/06/2018 16:11

None from me, except I'm hungrier, more tired and more irritable!

Hopefully we have some lovely news from someone soon!!! X

Thanks @chilly32045 I’m glad I’m not alone with that fear. I keep thinking of my friend. She was very spoilt, young and impatient with no interest in kids(she describes herself this way also) and she had three kids. Two twin girls with autism and a little boy and she is the most amazing mum- her kids are absolutely lovely and she tells me if she can do it I can!
We can do this!! Been reading the baby whisperer to teach me how to try to understand what the baby wants and to get him into a routine. Sounds daft but I’ve convinced myself I’m gonna have a cryer so that if he’s good I’m pleasantly surprised but if he is I am (somewhat) emotionally prepared! Xxxx

EmmaJR1 · 13/06/2018 18:39

@LuckygoLucy ermmmm does he not realise how thin the ice that he treads upon is???? Fool! He better get you a good present plus an apology treat! X

EmmaJR1 · 13/06/2018 18:40

@Babyrowlandsmummy I assure you everyone wings parenting. It's all instinct - just don't leave him in a shop and you'll be fine! 😂

carringtonm · 13/06/2018 21:00

Hi! Baby was born at 12:45pm today. He was actually born in his waters and they had to be broken once his head was out! He is a delight and we're smitten!

LuckygoLucy · 13/06/2018 21:01

@EmmaJR1 I don't think he realises how close I am to the edge gahhh.... Not sure he is going to last the next few weeks... there best be chocolate involved. Spent the whole day feeling sick but now I want chocolate!! xx

BumpInTheOven · 13/06/2018 21:01

Sending you lots of 💕 x
