Irritable and emotional - is labour near? Not enjoying pregnancy

I am 38 weeks and Although I am greatful for the little life growing inside me, have not enjoyed being pregnant one bit. 4 months of constant morning sickness (nausea and vometing) followed by what I can only describe as my fanny bone being snapped in half, sleepless nights (having to wake up when i need to roll over thanks to my pelvic pain), constant heart burn and water retention has left me feeling very down

For the past two weeks I’ve had pains in my lower back and stomach. Me and DH think it’s time and then they go away...for days!! The midwife said i was in early labour a week ago. Now i feel incredibly irritated. The irritation wakes me up in the night it feels like it’s radiating out of me. I’ve been incredibly emotional today and been in tears all day. I’m incredibly tired all the time but not sleeping. Did anyone have this before they went into labour? I’m still waiting for the nesting- my bump is so heavy and hips are sore I can’t do much.

I know everyone is different but I just need someone to tell me that I feel this rotton because he’s on his way out!!!

Still NAFF ALL... 😭😭😭😫😫😫

carringtonm · 12/06/2018 20:07

I did have a growth scan which was normal but I've heard of loads of people whose scans aren't accurate! I'm paranoid that he'll keep growing and growing until he's gigantic and I can't get him out haha.

Having some back pain tonight. A constant dull ache which gets worse and then eases off roughly every ten mins. Could be contractions, could be fuck all (again!). No pain anywhere else which is making me think it's nothing.

BumpInTheOven · 12/06/2018 20:08

I'm terrified, bump was put at nearly 8lbs at 37 weeks..!

BumpInTheOven · 12/06/2018 20:08

Fingers crossed it goes somewhere..! xx

chilly32045 · 12/06/2018 20:09

I'm 35 weeks with my first and feeling all of this pain and frustration. Why are we pregnant for so long?

Soooo fed with my DP who i swear is trying to wind me up on purpose? Feeling really achy and fed up today and he moans because dinner was taking so long, ate 3 packs of crisps in the meantime and then told me half way through dinner he wasn't hungry anymore!!! Pretty sure he's reverted back to being 4 yrs old!!!!

Sorry just had to rant!

BrutusMcDogface · 12/06/2018 20:09

Good luck, babyrowlandsmummy !!

carringtonm · 12/06/2018 20:12

@BumpInTheOven Mine was just under 7lb at the same time.

Hopefully one of us will have some baby news soon! Will be nice to hear about all the little ones arriving on this thread as long as mine isn't last!

plainK · 12/06/2018 20:22

I'm scared mines going to be massive too! 😳 Don't worry ladies I've heard they come out easier if they're bigger. Hope that's true.

Haha @chilly boys are annoying, I always tell mine he's irritating me. I've told him tonight, I'm not making his tea even though he's late in from work because I don't want to stand up! So much pressure in my down belows 😣 I know it will probably help to stand but I don't want to... So I'm just going to sulk on my bouncy balls for a bit

2good · 12/06/2018 20:33

I hear you all on the massive baby front! I was 2 weeks late as a baby and weighed 9 lbs 4 myself (my poor mum)- my shoulders got stuck and she didn't even have an epidural! 😕😕 I hope it's not hereditary to have big babies!
chilly that's annoying- he should be making you dinner!
bumpintheoven I've never been measured for size, I wonder how accurate they are? Is that based on scan or size of bump?

BrutusMcDogface · 12/06/2018 20:42

One of mine was over 10lb! Big baby doesn't necessarily mean bad labour. My baby came out with no problems 😁

2good · 12/06/2018 20:46

Phew that's good to hear brutus. Was that naturally brought on or were you induced?

EmmaJR1 · 12/06/2018 20:48

@carringtonm with my ds all my contractions were like that. I didn't realise they were contractions until my waters went! I didn't have any in my stomach- this could be it!?!?

BrutusMcDogface · 12/06/2018 20:49

All natural! I think people automatically worry about big babies but my mil said her smallest baby was her trickiest and her biggest was the most straightforward.

Hope all goes well for you!

BumpInTheOven · 12/06/2018 20:54

@2good That was est on a scan.. for anyone who hasn't had regular growth scans they measure femur length, abdominal circumference and head circumference, do the hocus pocus on the machine and give an calculated estimate.. I know someone who's baby was about half a pound out... not sure how accurate they really are tbh..

I'm seriously consider calling the labour suite and seeing if they accept bribes... xx

carringtonm · 12/06/2018 21:02

@EmmaJR1 Ooh I hope so, but I just had a bath and everything stopped while I was in there so I'm trying to be realistic and assuming it's not it 😭

plainK · 12/06/2018 21:12

So much pressure, this baby making is brutal! 🙈 I've got backache too now but I think it's psychosomatic as now it's the end I'm so incredibly terrified! 😩

carringtonm · 12/06/2018 21:19

Aching is back! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Please please please.

EmmaJR1 · 12/06/2018 21:45

@carringtonm time the gaps between aches! They will ask when you call in!

I remember I didn't realise I was in labour until I needed to trump and then my waters broke instead of trumping! 😂

LuckygoLucy · 12/06/2018 22:52

I've got everything crossed for you .... Hopefully tonight's the night xc

Babyrowlandsmummy · 12/06/2018 23:07

Hi ladies! Finally home!
I had double protein in my wee and I told them how I’ve been feeling (emotional, irritated, the shits, vometing, pains in belly or back with no pattern) they hooked me up to machine andbcould see I was contracting even tho I wasn’t in pain. They gave me a sweep and told me I was 1cm dialated and they have booked me in to be induced on Friday at noon.
I am petrified but more scared about bringing baby home and not knowing what to do!
The good thing is at least to be 1cm something is happening so if you feel the way I’ve been feeling then we all must be very close to having our babies xxx

@carringtonm that sounds really promising!!! That’s probably why you been emotional today too because baby is on the way!
Also, I heard big babies are better than small ones because they help themselves out with gravity better than small ones? This is only what i was told! Good luck and keep us updated but I think you will be having baba before weekend!!!! Xxx

@chilly32045 I think some men get jealous cuz they don’t get all your attention when your pregnant/ have a baby! He’s lucky you didn’t make him wear his dinner! Tut! That’s something my fella would do aswell x

Thanks ladies. Contractions (!) have been pretty regular since about 5:30 apart from when I was in the bath. Using a contraction timer app to keep track - currently at every 4-5 mins 😬

Babyrowlandsmummy · 12/06/2018 23:47

@carringtonm omg!!!!! So exciting!! Good luck mrs!!! Xxxxxx

babyrowlandsmummy that sounds like a bit of an ordeal - but the end is in sight (almost!) and carrington that's fantastic! Best of luck 😊.
