I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

First ever BFP just under two weeks ago after 2.5 years of trying, 1.5 years of ovulation induction fertility treatment for PCOS and turn 37 next month. Due Feb too. Overjoyed at being pregnant but trying to get a handle on my anxiety. Viability scan next Thursday at clinic to check for heartbeat and days are dragging! No signs of nausea, no sore boobs. Only symptoms are evening tiredness but could be because I'm awake between 2-4 am every night after awaking to empty bladder. Will be a little more confident after scan - I hope! Nice to finally join the group Smile

Welcome @Yellow100.
Sounds like it's been quite a journey for you. Congratulations and fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy

Seafoodeatit · 15/06/2018 10:50

Twins! I'm sure it'll becoming exciting once the news has had time to sink in. Flowers

@welshweasel good luck for your scan!

@Yellow100 Congratulations and welcome!

welshweasel · 15/06/2018 10:52

Scan all good. Measuring 6+2 and heartbeat seen!

maxiflump1 · 15/06/2018 10:57

Great news @welshweasel

Yellow100 · 15/06/2018 11:11

Thanks @maxiflump1 and @Seafoodeatit! Grin

hayleyfx · 15/06/2018 11:23

@clairehr thank you so much! I want it to hurry up but I’m also dreading it, fingers crossed 🤞

Welcome and huge congrats to all newcomers. I hope your pregnancies go as smoothly as possible!

@Lily311 what a shock that must have been for you. Hope everything works out well.

@welshweasel brilliant news! You must be delighted 😊

Seafoodeatit · 15/06/2018 11:23

@Yellow100 you're not obliged to answer I'm just nosy! - what worked for you in the end? With DC2 I had 3 years of fertility treatment for PCOS - ovarian drilling , 500mg metformin and 100mg of clomid worked for me on the month I was due to start fsh injections.

@welshweasel That's lovely to hear :)

Leonora94 · 15/06/2018 11:24

@MrsSnootyPants2018 I literally only feel sick when in a car haven't actually been sick yet though (fingers crossed)

@Lily311 WOW that's incredible Shock Hope everything works out for you x

@ronniemipperton it's my first too but I want to wait till 12 weeks, as much as i'd love to tell mum she is the worst at blabbing even if I told her to keep it a secret my entire family (and more) would know within 20 minutes...she will be the last to know sadly.

She did it when she found out DH was going to purpose, really pissed me off because I had no one at all to tell, everyone knew already. She'd even rang up my own friends and my dad (split up 20 years ago and don't even like each other) thinks everything is her news! So if she finds out so does everyone.

Leonora94 · 15/06/2018 11:25

*propose! When is everyone else telling people?

Yellow100 · 15/06/2018 11:39

@Seafoodeatit Don't mind at all! I didn't have the drilling but have been on metformin 850 x 2 daily for 1.5 years (I'm still awaiting consultant to tell me quite what to do re reduce or cut completely now preg) and tried 6 cycles of clomid (ovulated but no pregs) and then 3 cycles of injections and 60 hours of driving to and from clinic for regular scans! It's a joy not to be injecting and scanning and can actually focus on employment now am preg. So injections worked for us and I'm so in awe of fertility science. I was due to have first IVF cycle in 2 months so if this pregnancy sticks I will feel really lucky. Congrats to you and everyone Smile

Seafoodeatit · 15/06/2018 11:55

@Yellow100 I'm glad to hear the injections worked for you, the driving sounds like a complete nightmare! They'll probably ask you to slowly come off it around 12 weeks, every consultant is different though. Mine insisted I had a scan at 7 weeks at the clinic, he was insistent on me not booking anything in before then! I hope this pregnancy goes really well for you!

On the positive side DC3 & and now stbDC4 have been conceived without any sort of help, I fell pregnant with DC3 when DC2 was 3 months old, shock doesn't cover it after my consultant saying I'll never need to worry about contraception again! Number 4 (very much last!) has happened when DC3 was 10 months old, my cycles have been so erratic I was sure I wasn't ovulating, it feels like London buses!

Yellow100 · 15/06/2018 12:30

@Seafoodeatit That's amazing hearing about your natural conceptions! I've heard many stories about women falling preg naturally after ART to get pregnant. I would love to experience that! Hope all goes well with your (last Smile) pregnancy. I moved to the North from the S-E a couple of years ago and feel pretty isolated up here and with all the treated etc so it's lovely to be able to talk about things on this forum. I feel like I need all the support I can get x

Seafoodeatit · 15/06/2018 12:39

@Yellow100 Thank you :) hopefully you'll have the same thing, although it is a jarring experience when it happens, you think to yourself it can't be that easy surely?!? We moved to the SW from the SE/Surrey quite a few years ago now and I still feel like I barely know anyone, especially as we moved a year ago so it feels like starting from 0 again. Are you considering NCT classes? I've heard they're good for making friendships.

Wellthisunexpected · 15/06/2018 13:08

@Lily311 that's a big shock for you. To be honest twins is one of my worries, they are in DHs family. I just don't think I could cope.

I've found today that chewing gum helps with the nausea, but I know it makes it worse for some people!

Last pregnancy I lost weight in the first trimester and only gains 2 stone overall. I don't think I'll be so lucky this time. I do need to keep a check on my weight.

Wellthisunexpected · 15/06/2018 13:15

@Leonora94 my mum did that with my engagement. I was furious. I told her first as I thought she'd be upset if I didn't but then I rang others to tell them and she'd already done it. With DS we told her last and explained why!

I've told a couple of friends, who I'd told about my miscarriage so I know I can trust them and they'll support me.

I've also told my boss as I feel like crap. Thankfully she's really supportive.

I hate how it's when you feel so shockingly awful no one knows or can see you are pregnant!

Seafoodeatit · 15/06/2018 13:25

@Wellthisunexpected your chance of twins only increases if it's on the maternal side I'm pretty sure I've read, which is just as well as I have twin aunts on my dad's side!

KimRobs87 · 15/06/2018 13:27

@Seafoodeatit - I have read that too. My grandma is a twin and had twins, she's my dad's mum though - phew! X

Yellow100 · 15/06/2018 13:30

@Seafoodeatit Yes I can imagine! I felt that about my BFP 10 days ago...I couldn't believe it happened before IVf so I would fall off my perch in shock if I actually fell pregnant naturally. Definitely plan to take NCT classes!

Leonora94 · 15/06/2018 15:41

@Wellthisunexpected yep she'll be the last to know although its going to be a struggle to hide it for six weeks!

Lemon99 · 15/06/2018 17:22

Hi everyone, I’m new to this thread 6+3 due 5th Feb and I don’t feel pregnant one bit! Argh!

I had sore boobs, cramps and back pain in week 4, now that’s all gone. Totally squishing my boobs to see if they’re tender, but NOTHING!! Almost wishing I was feeling sick just to give me some reassurance that I’m actually still pregnant...

Anyway, not had any bleeding or any more cramps so keeping my fingers crossed for now! Good luck everyone!

MrsY87 · 15/06/2018 17:51

Wow this thread moves so fast! Just trying to catch up!

Welcome & congrats to any new joiners

Wow @Lily311 twins! Very exciting but I imagine quite a shock at the same time.

Sorry to those of you feeling nauseous, I'm there with you although feeling lucky in the sense mine seems to come and go. I'm much better if I keep eating although just ate some of the kids left over spaghetti Bol & now feel really queasy!

My parents and a few close friends know, I figured I'd tell them if things go wrong so better to have their support from the start. Won't be telling anyone else until at least the 12w scan and no public announcement til at least after 20w scan.

Anyone planning on having the harmony test? We did with DC2 so seriously considering it again this time.

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 15/06/2018 17:52

Hi lemon- I reckon I'm due 5th Feb too and I'm the same! I had really sore boobs, lower back ache, massive bloat. All seems to have died down to not much! I have bloat on occasion but it's usually a result of me being a fatty and eating everything.
May have a hint of nausea but nothing spectacular. Just really want it all to be ok-not having an early scan so got to wait until 12weeks scan whenever that gets booked for!

maxiflump1 · 15/06/2018 18:10

Hey ladies I'm really struggling this afternoon . Felt nauseous last night and was a little sick this morning. Have since spent the whole day in bed and feel like I have the flu; heads banging, ache all over, tummy is churning and just can't bear the though of food. Poor DH has had to cancel his weekend away as feel to rough to look after DS and Ddog. Wondering if this is normal pregnancy related stuff (am 6 weeks + 1) or if I've picked up a bug somewhere. DS has been poorly this week with a fever but I don't seem to have this. Where's my pregnancy glow?!!!? Anyone been through similar?

GetInMyNelly · 15/06/2018 18:20

Hey guys, quick update.

I think I'm out, I've been bleeding for a week and went for a scan today.

Scan showed I'm earlier than my dates, couldn't see a heartbeat and there was a lot of blood around sac.

Xx
