Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

loopdeeloo think you could be right with the blood sugar, as much as I have no desire to eat if I let myself get hungry I feel a lot worse. I'm finding work a struggle, luckily I have an office to myself so can chill for a bit but would love to be able to lie down for a bit right now.
jennytot84 I've noticed my sense of smell is more sensitive too, when I went into the kitchen this morning all I could smell was the bin and it was rank but dh swears he couldn't smell anything

socksonradiator · 29/05/2018 13:53

Hi, I'd love to join this group please Smile
I found out yesterday that I'm 5 weeks pregnant and due 29th January. The reality of it is still sinking in; I wish I had a penny for every time I've been back to check the result on the test!
It's been 9yrs since my last pregnancy so I feel like a 1st time mum again.
Am forward to sharing the journey together. Sending anti-sickness, anti-sore boobs and energy vibes out to all who need them Grin

Changedmaname · 29/05/2018 14:09

Hi socksonradiator I am also five weeks and expecting my second (although my age gap is 2.5 years) - welcome to the thread. Smile News hasn't sunk in for me yet either, feels very surreal!!

rainylake · 29/05/2018 14:37

Welcome @socksonradiator. I am also due 28th or 29th Jan. Already have a 3.5 year old, but it does seem like a lifetime ago I was pregnant with her.

m4rdybum · 29/05/2018 15:17

Afternoon all - sorry been so quiet. The nausea has really taken hold of me and been pretty awful this past week.

Had my booking in appointment this morning, which went as well as it could. Been given a huge pack to read, as well as the bump to baby book and some coupons from Bounty and Emma's diary.

We're telling my folks and the in-laws tonight.

Changedmaname · 29/05/2018 15:23

Ladies - how many of you are having early private scans?

It's something I am thinking about a lot. I had one with DC1 at 9 weeks and it definitely helped me to relax (I had a previous miscarriage and found I was very anxious it was going to happen again)... this time around I am definitely less anxious, but I would still really like to see the baby before 12 weeks. However it's looking to cost £80-90 which isn't an inconsiderable amount. I've checked out Groupon etc. and there aren't any deals near me.
DH is against it due to the cost mostly, but I can't shake the feeling that I would really like one. Aside from the reassurance aspect, it would be lovely to first see this baby at a similar gestation to DC1, purely for sentimental reasons.

Changedmaname · 29/05/2018 15:25

m4rdybum I'm so sorry you're suffering so much with nausea, I hope it passes quickly for you.

Glad your booking appointment went OK. :)

Good luck telling family, we told ours yesterday and it was really nice - although I keep worrying it'll jinx things (which I know is utterly ridiculous).

Noodles14 · 29/05/2018 15:31

Hi all. Had my booking appointment today so it is all starting today we'll more real...although the tiredness and sickness it definitely real! 😂 I can't help but looking at baby clothes online although I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything until at least 6 months but it's so hard...especially as I'm not at work this week so have a lot of spare time on my hands.
Anybody in the High Wycombe/Chilterns area?!

loopdeelou · 29/05/2018 15:54

@Changedmaname I'm having an early scan on Sunday when I'll be 9 weeks. It was pricey at £79 (although others in the area were £99) but think it'll be worth it and I'll be confident to tell everyone once we've had the scan. We haven't told anyone yet.

m4rdybum · 29/05/2018 15:56

Thanks @changedmaname - I'm hoping in reaching a peak now, as is been feeling generally off for a couple of weeks now. The actual being sick only started this morning, so I'm hoping I only have a couple of weeks left (we go on holiday in a couple of weeks!).

I know what you mean about jinxng it - we've decided to only tell parents, grandparents and siblings until after the 12 week scan. They're the people we'd want to know if anything went wrong, but I wouldn't be happy having to tell everyone in the family.

LJFM2B · 29/05/2018 16:07

@Noodles14 im not in the area but i am in the 'cant help myself' boat, i have had 3 MC previously and promised i wouldnt get too ahead of myself this time but today i see the pram i love has £300 off in john lewis 300 is so much money to save, of course i wont buy it im only 8+3 but its so so tempting, iv also looked at unisex baby clothes today too haha!!

@changedmaname i had an NHS scan at 6+4 and will do again at 9+4 because of above reasons, i feel like 12 weeks is FAR too long for M2B's to wait to see there babies!! and the private early scan units use this to there advantage because you just pay! .. Groupon sometimes has deals come up? .. the ladies at the EPU told me they would usually see any really anxious M2B because stress isnt good for them/us.

cryptonaut · 29/05/2018 16:18

Nausea is starting to get a bit ridiculous now. Haven't actually been sick yet but just feels like my body wants to. If I have something to eat it helps ease the nausea for a bit but then it just comes back full-force, I don't want to keep eating all day as I don't want to gain any unnecessary weight.

I've signed up to pregnancy gym classes which will start next week, I've been doing a Bootcamp for the past 6 months and I'm able to keep going to that but swap out certain exercises (I went during my lunch break today and struggled due to the nausea), but I thought the pregnancy one would be better as the classes are supposed to be designed specifically for strengthening muscles ready for labour, reducing pregnancy posture pains etc as well as for fitness.

I've been thinking about doing an early scan as well, I do sometimes feel a bit anxious so I think it would help but it's mostly because I'm impatient and very very desperate to hear that little heartbeat.

Jebbs · 29/05/2018 16:57

I'm just going straight for the 12 week scan. We've already told a few people (those and we'd be wanting to talk to if things go wrong) and won't be seeing anyone in particular before July so figured we could wait. I'll see how it goes, but we have our scan booked for the 29th of June now so at least I have a date to count down to Grin

Not feeling particuarly anxious, though I have been looking at a table that gives the miscarriage rate per day and it's nice to see the numbers go down as each day goes past.

Loudaz · 29/05/2018 17:47

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining, I am now 8 weeks pregnant with my first child (after finding out at about 3 1/2 weeks!) Due 8/01/2018, these last few weeks seem to have dragged but I have been here lurking and reading all your messages. Congratulations to you all and huge hugs to those who have had bad news Flowers.I have had my booking appointment today and midwife guessed they will do my scan around 13 weeks as I have a holiday coming up and they are quite busy!Seems like forever so I am contemplating a private scan as they are only £39 in my area. Looking forward to helping each other out over these coming months! Smile

Babit5485 · 29/05/2018 18:56

@Noodles14 I am! Have you started looking at local NCT yet? Long way off yet I know but I had a quick Google and seems to be a good one one in Beacs x

sexnotgender · 29/05/2018 19:03

Welcome @socksontheradiator! I'm in the same boat but my daughter will be 15 by the time no. 2 makes an appearance!

Feeling fat and nauseous today.

Noodles14 · 29/05/2018 19:32

@Babit5485 oh great! I've also looked at the NCT courses and I think my local one is in Marlow. I had my booking appointment today and the midwife was talking through hospital options- so either High Wycombe which only has a maternity unit so no c-sections or even epidurals on offer or Stoke Mandeville but that's obviously further away. Have you thought about that yet? When's your due date? I'm around 8th January.

FTMama · 29/05/2018 19:38

Hey All 👋
First time mama here at 10 weeks + 2 days (due 23/12/18) and I’ve got to say I am feeling it! I constantly feel hungover and/or that I’ve been hit by a bus. I have black eyes, constant nausea and I can never eat the same thing twice! Does anyone else feel this rough?!
I’m made to feel like I’m being a drama queen (not by my OH, he’s fantastic) because I’m having such a rough time but then the people who have said it haven’t got children...
Congrats to all on your pregnancies! It’s nice to find other mamas on near enough the same journey!
Love FTMama xo

Babit5485 · 29/05/2018 20:32

@Noodles14 I'm c.21st Jan I think, but that could all change once I have a scan so I hear!

I have only chatted to midwife so far and they also mentioned Wexham Park... so think the choice will come down to Wexham or Stoke Mandeville. No clue which is better although I have heard that Wexham has had a huge refurb in recent years! Undecided really...

Lots of decisions! X

sexnotgender · 29/05/2018 21:14

Whoever named it morning sickness was a big fat liar. Spent the evening throwing my guts up😫

Virgo89 · 29/05/2018 21:34

Hi all,

I was hoping to keep my pregnancy under wraps until we've had the first scan but after spending a weekend away with my Mum and sister, I think I've been busted. Purely because I didn't drink alcohol! Whenever the sun is out I always have a cider but had to pass on several different occasions. At one point my sister outright asked me if I was pregnant and I had to lie and say no because my boyfriend doesn't want anyone knowing yet.

Currently waiting for the date of my booking in appointment. My GP sent my referral form off but I missed a call from the hospital on Friday. Have called back on 4 occasions but no answer, pfft...

Hannahxo · 29/05/2018 21:46

I'm 8 weeks pregnant on Friday. Got my first midwife appointment tomorrow. Think I'm due around 11th Jan?

jellyfish2210 · 29/05/2018 22:39

@sexnotgender I know exactly what you mean! I get really sick around 4pm. Makes the trip home from work a struggle and have been sick more at that time of day than in the morning!

ohhellojo · 30/05/2018 05:52

@changedmaname We’re booked in for s private scan next week when we’re 10 weeks. We’ve reasoned it out that a date night to the cinema and a meal is more expensive for our location (the scan is £50 here near York) so instead of going on a date night, we get to see if there is a little sticky bean in there and be reassured that we are actually healthily pregnant. Once we’ve got that scan I’m sure the OH will sing it from the bloody rooftops, he’s so giddy!

m4rdybum · 30/05/2018 07:56

Told the in laws and my best friend last night - was lovely :) MIL cried. And it's great to now have someone else to tell how much I feel like dog shit.

Been sick two mornings in a row now, so I suspect it's a thing.

Tried rich tea biscuits but nope.
