Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

@Miffy201 yes she did know but we were having issues and tto for 18 months, fully expected to have to go down the ivf route tbh.

Merrz · 29/05/2018 08:25

Hey, anyone else feeling utterly s**te?? Feeling like I have a 4 day hangover. Absolutely exhausted got straight on the sofa when i got in from work last night and stayed there until bed, slept all night then had to lie down for 10 minutes after walking the dog this morning and pretty much constant nauseous. Anyone else feel like this or got any tips?

Firsttimemum1829 · 29/05/2018 08:30

Hi everyone, we have got our booking appt today. Feeling a bit nervous, I don’t know why. Has anyone had theirs yet? Just wondering what to expect and if we will get our scan date today?.

Merrz · 29/05/2018 08:34

Firsttimemum1829 I had mine just over a week ago. It's basically your midwife going through a heap of questions with you (past medical/family history etc) she took my weight/height, bloods, urine sample. Made my next appointment with her for 16 weeks but said i would get a letter through the post with my scan date.

cryptonaut · 29/05/2018 08:39

@Firsttimemum1829 got mine this Thursday. Don't really know what to expect but I did find this page www.bounty.com/pregnancy-and-birth/pregnancy/early-pregnancy/your-booking-appointment I guess it's just medical history and tests

Firsttimemum1829 · 29/05/2018 08:40

Thanks you @Merrz. They haven’t told me to take a urine sample, so best take some water with me and hope I can go when I’m there. Ha ha. I had to collect a questionnaire thing from there a couple of weeks ago and they said to fill in what I could and take it with me today, all about family history, medical info etc. X

Firsttimemum1829 · 29/05/2018 08:43

Thanks @cryptonaut just read the link, that’s really helpful. Thanks

flashnazia · 29/05/2018 08:51

@merrz same here. Feel shocking. Been a bum all weekend.

Merrz · 29/05/2018 08:56

They never told me to take a urine sample either she just said do it now if your able to if not hand it in later. Ahh cool so you might of already answered a lot of the questions. My appointment was over an hour so yours might be shorter

loopdeelou · 29/05/2018 09:32

@KimBeau I'm so so sorry.

Merrz · 29/05/2018 09:37

flashnazia how far on are you? I'm 7 weeks tomorrow, this pregnancy is very much wanted and waited for so don't want to moan but no idea how I'll get through the next couple of months if I feel like this Sad

loopdeelou · 29/05/2018 09:41

@Merrz not just you... I feel utterly crap and have done for two weeks now. I told DH that it is like a two week hangover that just isn't passing. The nausea has been awful and just isn't shifting. Afraid I haven't found anything that works yet (although I've eaten a ridiculous amount of ginger biscuits!)

Merrz · 29/05/2018 09:48

loopdeeloo sorry you're feeling rubbish too. I was thinking about ginger biscuits, pretty much living on toast and yoghurt for the last few days, the thought of anything else makes me feel even more sick. I just read about a study that showed woman who feel rubbish in early pregnancy had a lower rate of miscarriage so at least that's something to cling to Confused

loopdeelou · 29/05/2018 10:14

@Merrz yes I'm trying to cling to that...
The thought of eating also makes me feel awful but once I do I feel a whole lot better so wonder if part of it is low blood sugar? Have to force myself to eat but then I feel a bit better for an hour. Just finding it hard to leave the house as I can't eat/ lie down when needed. Very glad it's half term for me.

Miffy201 · 29/05/2018 10:36

@rainylake We also went for one due to higher risk of complications and us probably not being able to cope with twins! I should feel reassured as we also have 5-6 left, but this round has been so expensive so we are really keeping our fingers crossed it sticks!

@Cariadxx I'm sure it's different for everyone but personally for me, I never felt upset when I heard someone was pregnant when I knew they were trying for a while..it did sting a bit when people said it happened on their first try! You never know, it could be the best thing ever, you may end up being pregnant at the same time! It is tough though..it may be worth thinking about when you are planning to tell her e.g. it probably wouldn't be good for her to find out shortly before the embryo transfer happens or while she is in her 2 week wait (i.e. after the embryo transfer has happened and she is waiting for her results) just because she may feel extra pressure for it to work or something.. I really hope it works out well, fingers crossed the ivf works!

Changedmaname · 29/05/2018 10:44

So sorry to all the ladies who are suffering with morning (or rather all day!) sickness. I had it really bad with my first pregnancy and it was awful - sickness in the morning and constant nausea 24/7. I think it started about 6-7 weeks, so I'm not there yet this time, but I am praying it isn't as bad this time. I vomited blood from being sick so much and it didn't go away altogether until 20 weeks. Not sure how I will look after my toddler if it's like it again.

jennytot84 · 29/05/2018 10:47

Feeling so shocking today, I've come into work and my sense of smell has gone into overdrive. I can smell the perfume of the lady sat next to me and its absolutely knocking me sick (I can't normally smell it and I've asked if she's changed it/wearing more than normal). Orange juice and rich tea biscuits seem to be helping ever so slightly. How's everyone else feeling? Xx

Gldnmamax · 29/05/2018 11:03

I think my sickness is starting to creep in and I'm dreading it, I've experienced hyperemesis before and I'm worried it's going to happen again 😣

Starsong82 · 29/05/2018 11:38

Went for an early scan at the weekend to try and ease some of my anxiety which has helped quite a bit, confirmed one little bean looking as it should and heartbeat was visible, sonographer dated me back a couple of days so I'm now 6+6 with a due date of 16th Jan.
I'm also feeling horrendously nauseous but haven't moved on to actual upchucking as yet.
Do partners usually go to booking in appts? Mine wants to come along and I'm happy to have him there but not sure if that's the norm?

Firsttimemum1829 · 29/05/2018 12:05

My hubby is coming with me today @Starsong82 but only as he has today off work aa leave anyway we wasn’t going to get him to book time off especially, so it’s just worked out well. X

Keiki · 29/05/2018 12:14

Well I haven't been feeling nauseous for 3 days now but my boobs are still agony, feel like I need new bras already! Still haven't told DP, he arrived back after a few days away in a foul mood so it didn't seem the right time Blush I think I'm going to buy another test to do later this week and show him that one.

Keiki · 29/05/2018 12:15

Also spoke to the receptionist at the doctor's surgery this morning and apparently I have to book an appointment with a nurse there to fill in a form, then it gets referred to the midwife section.

sexnotgender · 29/05/2018 12:18

Feeling so sick. Trying to eat lunch but really struggling.

There also needs to be a rule about microwaving fish in the office 😡

Changedmaname · 29/05/2018 12:36

@Starsong82 It is up to you if you would like to take your DH to any midwife appointments. The booking appointment is pretty boring, but he can go with you if you both want. My DH came to all scans and one routine midwife appointment (the one where you hear the heartbeat for the first time and he also needed a blood test to determine his blood type so my midwife did this while he was there).
I'm glad your scan made you feel less anxious, I had one with my first pregnancy at 9 weeks and it really helped. I would like one again but uhming and ahing about the cost!

I have just booked in with the midwife, first appointment 26th of June when I will be 9 weeks.

LJFM2B · 29/05/2018 13:13

@sexnotgender ditto to that!! fish and smelly food in general... a guy in my office has a take away full fried breakfast 4 out of 5 days and every day i can just smell oil/fat/grease and then egg!! makes me feel sick thinking about it!!
