Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Hi @Wowthisisreal :)
You're really lucky you get to see your friends all the time - although that probably does make it harder not to tell them. Mine are all quite dispersed, so the only people I see on a regular basis are my work colleagues (and I'm obviously not about to tell them!). My parents actually live in Germany, but they're planning to come visit us in August. I wonder if I can keep my news quiet until then, and then surprise them at the airport with my bump...assuming I'd be showing by then I -don't even know. Very much doubt I'll be able to keep quiet about it on the phone for that long though anyway Smile
Have you been to see your GP yet?

Sunnybuttercup · 27/05/2018 20:28

Thanks @KimBeau - that's a very good point. I might as well tell those friends I would tell anyway, if things went wrong. I wish I had them closer by - but thank goodness for WhatsApp! I might just wait a little bit longer until it feels more real in my own head first though. How long was it before the news really sank in for you?

Wowthisisreal · 27/05/2018 20:34

@Sunnybuttercup no my GP said they didn't want to see me and booked me in with midwife at 8 weeks! Apparently I only needed to see GP if I wanted to discuss 'options'

KimBeau · 27/05/2018 20:38

We've known now for 4.5 weeks and I guess it took me a week to get my head around it, @sunnybuttercup. I found I couldn't think of anything else for days, it was like I was obsessed. Things have calmed down in my head now although every day I still do analyse how I feel! Seeing the doctor on day 3 helped and I had what I realise now is an early booking-in appointment at six weeks (blood tests and medical history chat). Sometimes it still doesn't feel real; I don't think it will do until our scan. Plus we're not planning or prepping or anything yet. We might move house so I'd like to get that underway before we consider buying or organising anything. I expect we'll leave it until the 7th or 8th month!

Sunnybuttercup · 27/05/2018 21:27

Ah, that's good to know, I've still got quite a while before I need to make my first appointment then - thanks @Wowthisisreal Smile
I hope you are able to get your house move sorted out before you start struggling too much pregnancy-wise @KimBeau. We moved house twice last year, first not long before our wedding, and again right before Christmas, which was stressful enough. Glad we're staying put now. I'm sure it'll be lovely for you to start prepping for your new baby in a new home though - a new beginning all round! Smile

5+3 here, first after one mc from trying for 2 years. I've no symptoms, it doesn't feel real yet. Plus after the mc only 2 months ago I'm scared more than excited. Anyone else?

sexnotgender · 27/05/2018 21:46

Another scared one here! I’m 5+5 and had an early miscarriage on my previous cycle so quite anxious. Though beginning to relax.
Had sex yesterday for the first time since finding out as I was too stressed about doing anything to cause a MC which I’m sure is stupid!

Cariadxx · 27/05/2018 23:07

today I went to the supermarket and nearly threw up in the chilled aisle Shock

Sundance347 · 28/05/2018 06:22

Can anyone please reply to my earlier message or am I in the wrong place?

Cariadxx · 28/05/2018 08:21

@sundance347 I think you need to start your own thread as your post isn't really right for this one

Gldnmamax · 28/05/2018 08:22

@Sundance347 it's possible you could have ovulated later... but I think the best thing to do is consult your GP

sexnotgender · 28/05/2018 08:58

@sundance347 you're not totally in the wrong place but people might just not know the answer to your question.
I'd recommend seeing your gp if you are concerned.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 28/05/2018 09:47

@Sundance347 if you’ve been unsure of your periods etc for a while then it’s completely likely that you’ve ovulated later than you thought.

My LMP started on either the 23rd or the 24th of march which would put me at 9+2 today. I get ovulation pain each month (both a blessing and a curse!) I couldn’t remember when I had it, i seemed to think it was a Monday or a Tuesday and it was over a week late, I’m thinking somewhere in the region of 9-11 days later than it should’ve been.

I went for a scan on Friday and they dated me at around 7+1/7+2 weeks which from my very sketchy dates means the scan was 1-3 days behind which is probably about right.

What I’m trying to say is that it’s entirely possible that you ovulated later than you expected. If I hadn’t known that I’d ovulated later than normal and had gone to the scan and only been just over 7 weeks when I thought I was more like 9 then I’d have been a total wreck!

It can and does happen!

PumpkinPatch000 · 28/05/2018 10:21

@Kocerhan3 I know how you feel. I'm a combination of scared an excited after having a MC in Feb. I'm 6+1 today and had brown spotting the last few days so i'm on edge. I did have a scan on Friday though and everything was looking good, we even saw the heart beating which was incredible. I'm hoping I relax more as each week passes and hoping this spotting stops!

It gives me some re-assurance my symptoms are stronger this time. The morning sickness is in full force today. Does anyone have any tips to help ease it?

chickita04 · 28/05/2018 10:57

Hi lovely ladies..

Just wondering when people have told parents?
We are due to surprise my parents on their holiday in 4 weeks. We've agreed to wait till then to tell them, sort of a double whammy surprise!
But we are very close with both my parents and they live 2 mins walk away from us so we see them a lot! I'm dying to tell them but I know it'll be such a lovely surprise us turning up on their hol and then telling them they'll be grandparents. I'm just worried I won't be able to wait that long!

✨

socktastic · 28/05/2018 13:52

Pretty sure that's me out. Just had wee stomach pains and light pinky marks when I wipe but started bleeding bright red at lunch. Sent home from work. Absolutely gutted. Don't even know what to do now.

Gldnmamax · 28/05/2018 14:56

@socktastic sorry to hear love 😓 maybe double check with your gp? To be sure?

socktastic · 28/05/2018 15:12

Waiting on them ringing me back. Really not hold g out much hope xx

rainylake · 28/05/2018 15:15

@socktastic really sorry to hear this. Thinking of you.

PumpkinPatch000 · 28/05/2018 15:27

So sorry to hear this @socktastic it might be worth getting your bloods checked or a scan just to be sure?

jennytot84 · 28/05/2018 16:43

Hi all,
This is my very first pregnancy and I'm freaking out. I'm due jan 22 2019, about 6 weeks so far.
It was a complete surprise and I'm sooo not ready to be responsible for a tiny human (I can't keep pot plants alive ffs).
I only found out last week and already the tiredness, sickness and feeling like crappiness has kicked in. I just don't know how I'm going to get through the week at work, let alone 8 more months!
Can't be the only one feeling like this?! Xxx

Cariadxx · 28/05/2018 16:49

@jennytot84 I'm in the exact same boat but about a week behind you. I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I've never slept so badly as I have been doing, waves of mild nausea since last Wednesday. Had a few days of WTF in my head but I've started to accept it now and cant help being a bit excited. Also nervous about a mc happening and the fact that felt sick at 4 weeks..... could it be twins? 😕

Cariadxx · 28/05/2018 16:50

Ps I'm working 120 hours in the next 12 days. Given that I feel like hell now I have no idea how I'm going to get through x

Miffy201 · 28/05/2018 16:55

Hi, it's my first pregnancy too! I'm due on 20th so I'm just over 6 weeks, but I'm worried that I am not really feeling any symptoms yet at all, sometimes I may feel a slight tinge of nausea but I'm not really sure.. I wouldn't be so worried but it's an IVF cycle and I'm on soo much progesterone that I'm not going to know if I mc until a scan tells me.. so even though I'm sure pg symptoms suck big time I kind of want them just for peace of mind!

jennytot84 · 28/05/2018 16:57

@Cariadxx I'm not sure about the twins thing, I think sickness can appear at any time up to a certain point (happy to be corrected though!)
I'm having no trouble sleeping luckily, i feel good when I wake up then literally an hour later, I could do with a nap!
I'm not letting myself get excited yet, although I think once we've told parents/siblings, it will become real. At the moment I'm just cursing the little leech for zapping my energy lol Grinxxx
