Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

@Englishpetal89 I'm 6+6 today, found out at about 4 weeks. Started buying stuff immediately, but nothing brand new. I've been using Facebook Marketplace, charity shops and car boots to get my things. The reason I decided to do it this way is that I have 7-8 months to get things so I don't look for anything specific, I get what I can when I see it. Not only that but I suffer with anxiety so I thought the best way to keep my anxiety levels low for the benefit of the baby is to feel prepared.

Congratulations! I got my BFP yesterday after 16 months of TTC. Also due Jan 19

@Englishpetal89 I would say go for it if you think you'll be upset/disappointed if it goes or you don't find as good a deal down the line (unlikely, that sounds like a bargain!). Personally I don't think I want to buy anything until the 12 week scan, but having only found out yesterday that could change! We're going shopping tomorrow and now I'll be 'window shopping' in places like Mothercare and the baby aisle of Sainsbury like nobody's business! It's very exciting but although I'm not superstitious I wouldn't want to tempt fate... if that doesn't bother you though, go for it SmileSmile

Paris1986 · 27/05/2018 09:32

Congratulations chickita04 Flowers

socktastic · 27/05/2018 09:56

I don't think I really bought anything until after 12 week scan and I knew everything was ok. I had a previous mmc and I had bought a couple of things early on. Hoping this time round if all goes well (touch wood) I'll not need to get much. Unless it's a girl. Then she will cost me loads of money!

Thoughts also needed. Because I'm completely neurotic I've been testing still pretty regularly. Internet cheapens were giving me neg results but all the other more expensive ones were positive and have been getting stronger I think. Last couple of days the ICs have been faint but positive. This morning it was back to neg with fmu. Still experiencing cramping so just wondering how worries I should be. I do still have 1 clearlblue test in the drawer.

Wowthisisreal · 27/05/2018 10:15

Congrats @Paris1986!

Wowthisisreal · 27/05/2018 10:18

@socktastic how far along are you? I've never used an internet cheapy but I told DH I want to take one test a week to reassure myself! Do you still feel pregnant / have pregnancy symptoms?

socktastic · 27/05/2018 10:21

I'm 5weeks today. Boobs are still sore and I'm a bit emotional but then my dh is being a bit of a dick today too so don't know if it's hormonal or him.

socktastic · 27/05/2018 10:23

Today's (bottom) vs a previous one. Doesn't look good I don't think.

Due January 2019
Paris1986 · 27/05/2018 10:24

Thanks @Wowthisisreal

@socktastic have you got or tried any supermarket ones? Have never used an IC but Clear blue aren't cheap... maybe try a 'middle of the road' one from Tesco or somewhere?

Kizykicks · 27/05/2018 10:37

Just wanted to let you all know about a chat I just had with the midwifery Center.

I called because the last two days I have no pregnancy symptoms, a bit of sickness but no sore boobs or cramps and I was worried.

I asked for an early scan but they said they don't do them unless there is a medical reason (I'm only 6 weeks)

She said do a pregnancy test every other day if it makes me feel better, even the cheap ones that are only £1 are fine! Because it's early on I'm pregnant if the results are positive then it's good.

It's only if you're later in your pregnancy that you could get a fake positive result if you had a missed MC as the hormone takes longer to get out of your system.

socktastic · 27/05/2018 10:47

But if it's lighter does that not indicate the hormone level is falling? So it's still positive but not as positive as the previous one iycwim?

Wowthisisreal · 27/05/2018 11:01

@socktastic was the other one FMU?

Cariadxx · 27/05/2018 11:22

It's completely dependent on how concentrates your urine is so unless you drank the exact same 2 days running with the exact same activity level then it's not comparable

socktastic · 27/05/2018 12:10

Honestly I couldn't say. Today's wasn't fmu - although I hadn't had anything to drink yet but had been swimming. Th has told me to step away from the tests. I might be inclined to agree

Firsttimemumjeng · 27/05/2018 12:56

Hi all,

I'm about 5 or 6 weeks pregnant and so excited for my first scan but also really anxious and worried everything is ok. I have experienced cramping, sore breasts and really frequent urination but no nausea/sickness yet. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced morning sickness so early on or is it not expected until later on? Xxx

gemsparkle84 · 27/05/2018 12:59

Hi everyone. 6 weeks with number 2. Anyone else just generally feeling like total crap? Xx

Wowthisisreal · 27/05/2018 13:16

@Firsttimemumjeng I haven't had any cramps but I keep seeing people talk about them - should they be happening?

Paris1986 · 27/05/2018 13:48

Congrats @gemsparkle84!

I've not had any symptoms apart from mild cramps, felt just like AF cramps so I didn't take a test for days. No other symptoms at all yet... I'm sure they'll be along soon! If you have a positive test and are late then I think that's all you 'need' at this stage. I hope!

Sundance347 · 27/05/2018 14:06

Hi guys. I had a positive pregnancy test 4 weeks ago which stated I was 1-2 weeks pregnant. I had had an early pregnancy scan on Thursday and they said they could see a sac a yolk and an embryo but no heartbeat. They dated the pregnancy at 5 and a half weeks according to measurements. I felt this was slightly behind as I definitely conceived between 9-17 of April. I have not had a period in 7 years due to the implant and was only off of it for three weeks before I got the positive result. I am panicking due to the lack of heartbeat. Do you think I could just have ovalated late????? Help. I already have a 7 year old but cannot remember a thing

rainylake · 27/05/2018 14:43

@Firsttimemumjeng it's completely okay not to have nausea. Everyone's different. It might turn up later nor maybe not - my first pregnancy I didn't have any morning sickness at all and the baby was absolutely fine. It just depends on how your body happens to respond.

KimBeau · 27/05/2018 16:08

Hi @firsttimemumjeng I'm the same. I'm 8+4 now and still no nausea or sickness so I'm counting myself lucky! I've had swollen boobs and sore nipples, bloating and a lot of tiredness, especially the last 10 days while I've also had a cold. Also a couple of days of light spotting a couple of weeks ago. I have an early scan tomorrow evening so am hoping to get confirmation of everything then.

Sunnybuttercup · 27/05/2018 19:01

Hi everyone,
I only just got my bfp on Thursday afternoon, the day after my missed period. The app I've downloaded tells me I'm due on January 29th, and that I'm currently at 4 weeks, 5 days. It doesn't really feel real yet. I haven't told anyone other than my DH. I desperately want to talk to my friends who already have children (this will be my first), to ask their advice on things (- like, what should and shouldn't I be doing at this stage? how long before any symptoms kick in? what books should I be reading? how soon do I go see a doctor? what happens at your first appointment?) - but I know it's way too early to tell anyone, and I'm also nervous of getting excited too soon, in case something goes wrong.
Would love to get to know others in the same boat! xx

Wowthisisreal · 27/05/2018 19:24

Welcome @Sunnybuttercup! I'm due 25th Jan apparently and 5+2 😊 I'm also struggling with not telling friends with babies - and I see them all the time and know they would be so excited I am joining the club! I told my immediate family a week ago and it was such a weight lifted. I don't regret it for a second and my mum already has 'a box' apparently. I've had some symptoms and it's nice to know that while I have to put on the act with friends and other relatives, with them I can get my guard down and be myself - my dad has been really sweet in particular! So basically my advice is tell people who will support you and make the next couple of months easier!

My symptoms so far this week are tiredness and mood swings and lack of appetite. Last week it was needing to pee A LOT.

KimBeau · 27/05/2018 20:08

Hi @sunnybuttercup! Congrats. I agree with @wowthisisreal - do what you want to do and what will make the next several weeks easier and more fun for you. Although it was/is a risk, I decided to tell close friends, immediate family and my closest friend at work. I figured that I'd tell these people anyway if anything went wrong. It's made me feel really supported and more excited, it's so nice to talk about it, esp when my husband feels a bit overwhelmed at times. Sometimes the thought of having to tell everyone if anything went wrong is a bit much but I guess I'll deal with it if it happens. For me, the pros of certain people knowing outweighs the cons :)
