Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

StarScience · 24/05/2018 01:29

Wow there are a lot of expectant mums congrats everyone 😀 I am due in Jan 19 too and would love to join this thread until new year and beyond x

sexnotgender · 24/05/2018 07:41

Had to run for my bus this morning, oh my word my boobsShock so painful. Won’t do that again!

Kizykicks · 24/05/2018 10:04

Congrats all! I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant, my first pregnancy. I'm due 22nd January!

The first trimester is such a worrying time... the waiting game! We have our first doctors visit on 20th June then they will book our 12 week scan for two weeks after.

Have any of you told friends or family yet? I'm going to tell my mum tonight..

I've got a hen party coming up for a friend and I'm not sure whether to tell them as to why I'm not drinking x

sexnotgender · 24/05/2018 10:49

Hey kizykicks I’m due the same day as you.
Not told anyone yet as had an early miscarriage last month and family knowing made it harder.
Got good feelings about this one though. I might tell at 8 weeks.
Going on holiday with my parents first week of July so definitely need to tell them before that!

Kizykicks · 24/05/2018 11:10

I am so sorry about your miscarriage but a huge congrats on your pregnancy!

If you don't mind me asking, at what stage did you miscarry before?

I think that's what I've delayed telling anyone as it can make it feel worse when you just want to be alone but at the same time it's nice to have people there to support you in those times.

Aww due date twins!

Kizykicks · 24/05/2018 11:11

@sexnotgender apologies my reply is below x

Wowthisisreal · 24/05/2018 11:38

@Kizykicks I'm due 25th Jan - currently 4+6 and told my mum and dad on Monday. It sounds weird but it was such a weight off my mind I feel so much more comfortable with someone else knowing apart from me and Hubby. I figured I would need them if the worst did happen.

Planning to tell FIL at 8 weeks and rest of family after 12 weeks!

I have a work trip planned for early next month - and to a country well known for drinking!! The whole team is getting together for a night out and I travelling with a colleague. No idea what to do re. not drinking! Torn between lying and saying I don't feel like it / antibiotics (which is so unlike me and probably no one will believe it), pretending to drink (no idea how I will manage that!) and just telling my close colleague and then asking her to cover for me.

Really not sure what to do. I'll be 6 weeks by this point!

sexnotgender · 24/05/2018 11:43

I miscarried at 4+4 so I’m passed that now with this one at 5+3.
This is my second but first is 14!!

Totally doesn’t feel real, I’ve tested like 5 timesConfused can’t quite believe it.

Kizykicks · 24/05/2018 12:45

@Wowthisisreal

Aww congratulations to you too!!

How are you feeling?

I'll let you all know how it goes telling mum tonight, it will be her first grandchild! We will tell Hubbys family on Saturday.

Drinking, it's a tricky one! Maybe tell your friend and they can cover for you?
Luckily my other half has been on antibiotics lately so I'm going to send a photo in the group chat the day before and pretend they're mine 😂 I feel bad for fibbing but I just don't feel ready to announce yet.

Have you told your work yet? Maybe they can help in the cover up too - no one will mess with the boss! X

LJFM2B · 24/05/2018 12:51

@Kizykicks i had a hen party 2 weeks ago and a wedding this weekend, i went with telling just my bestest friends and i drank watered down apple juice in a wineglass so nobody else knew. it was in a house so a little easier ... the wedding i drank appletizer or ginger ale in a tall glass which looked like my usual whiskey and lemon-aid!

@Wowthisisreal this may work for you too...

i have been pregnant 3 times before this but sadly have all ended in MC (am now on baby asprin and this one seems to be alot different then previous) ... anyway all 3 times before i have had occasions where i have fake drunk and seemed to work!!

LJFM2B · 24/05/2018 12:52

@sexnotgender glad you have a good feeling about this baby!! i feel the same about myself too!! got a different feeling to before!! fingers tightly crossed

Wowthisisreal · 24/05/2018 13:04

@Kizykicks I haven't told work yet - it's seems like way too early to? I thought you wouldn't normally tell work until 12 weeks? I work in a small team so if I told boss / close colleague then might as well tell everyone lol. I'd like to trust close colleague but I feel she may blab or not be able to keep it quite in front of clients etc.

It's my parents first grandchild too! We told them in quite a cute way. Hubby asked me to get something out of my bag when I was sat between Mum and dad on the sofa, I made a big show of struggling to find it (Mum is always going on at me that I have too much in my bag!) and then I pulled out a champagne bottle and asked my sister to hold that quickly for me and then proceeded to pull out on positive pregnancy test and then another and passed them to my mum and dad asking them to hold them! Mum just held it like "what is this", my sister then grabbed it and was "like you're not are you?!" Then my Mum started crying and dad was just sat there saying "you're not pregnant" all the whole Hubby is filming. Really was so sweet.

Kizykicks · 24/05/2018 13:16

@LJFM2B what a great cover up ha ha!
The problem I have is it's bottomless prosecco at a private venue so my glass will be out of my hands! Plus drinking games. I was tempted not go but I think faking the antibiotics is the best idea.

@Wowthisisreal Yeah I think it's too early to tell them. I told my boss because I was so upset when I had some spotting and just needed a hug! She was so happy for me but said to not get my hopes up yet which made me feel worse to be honest. I won't tell the other partners or staff until 12 weeks.

That is the cutest way telling your parents!
So it's my mum and step dads wedding anniversary tomorrow and we're going over tonight. I think I'm going to get a 'happy anniversary nana and grandad' card and sign it from baby with the pregnancy test inside. I'm sat at the doctors now waiting for my blood test... i am nervous.

Have any of you had the shooting pains on the left and right side of the body?

cryptonaut · 24/05/2018 13:18

@Wowthisisreal @Kizykicks I told my boss when I was about 4 weeks. My reason being was that I have a very customer facing job, which includes a lot of travel abroad, and I was concerned about travelling while pregnant. I didn't want to be in a situation where he'd promised one of the project managers that I would go and then blind-side them telling them I can't fly. This way my boss can make sure he schedules someone else instead and I can take the more local projects.

We're going to tell my in-laws on Monday, we've arranged a family lunch under the pretence that we just haven't seen them all together since Xmas. At the wedding DH added a joke in his speech that involves our surname, so I thought about getting some fabric paint and a plain newborn onesie and painting the joke on it to present to the family Grin can't wait to see their faces!

Kizykicks · 24/05/2018 13:22

@cryptonaut good luck telling them! Let us know how it goes?

How far gone are you? Some days I feel pregnant like bloated and cramps and sickness then other days I feel like it was a dream! Maybe telling parents will make it feel more real. Fingers crossed all is well today at the docs then I'll much more excited to tell them x

Wowthisisreal · 24/05/2018 13:31

@Kizykicks no pains 😕

That's a lovely idea. I wanted to do a similar thing I was looking on Etsy for cards and things which say "happy anniversary! only the best parents get promoted to grandparents" but their anniversary is mid June and I just couldn't wait!!

LJFM2B · 24/05/2018 13:42

@Kizykicks ah this makes it alot tougher, could have a word with your waiter? they may be able to make you a processco looking drink?! ... but might be easier to be openly t-total for the day ... youll have to fake some sort of infection a day or so before and plant the seed!! haha

Good luck telling your families ladies, such special moments!

cryptonaut · 24/05/2018 13:43

@Wowthisisreal I got DH a card from Etsy that was similar to that "only the best husbands get promoted to daddy" which meant I had to wait for it to arrive before I could tell him, was itching to and he was so excited when I eventually did

@Kizykicks I'm in my 7th week based on last AF. I've had a lot of cramping that seems to finally be going. Nipples been hurting for weeks and rest of boobs started hurting a couple of days ago. Only really felt nauseous last night at the gym, thought I was going to throw up so had to keep pausing.

Best of luck at the docs, hope all is well.

valladebby · 24/05/2018 17:20

My first scan is June 27th, how can I resist until then? Heeelp.
Did you get an early scan?
@Wowthisisreal that's so sweet! love it!

Netka30 · 24/05/2018 18:41

Hello,
Sorry if I am posting in a wrong feed.
I’m 30 and think I’m expecting my first child.
My last period was on 20th of April. Usually it’s not on time but because (for some reason ) I was expecting it on Saturday, I have done a pregnancy test day before yesterday. It showed faint positive result. I done another test first thing this morning and much stronger positive result.
I am trying not to get too excited about it as I do realise the pregnancy test had expiry date for this month but apparently it shouldn’t be matter.

I am bit worried as I have noticed some spotting almost like period but only small brownish spots as if it was the end of your period if that make sense? It does feel like I’m on my period but there is no bleeding and belly feels bloated. No painful boobs only sometimes feel sick and tired. Also I do go to the toilet much more often.

Does anyone else experience that? Is this normal?

I do not have anyone to talk to about it or ask.
We are keeping it quiet for now as we are not 100% sure and as per usual to get appointment with gp I have to wait at least a week.

On one of the website I done pregnancy calculator and according to that I’m 4 weeks and due 30 of January but I haven’t seen the doctor yet. Waiting for the appointment a week on Friday.

m4rdybum · 24/05/2018 18:43

I'm quite shocked @Kizykicks at your boss saying not to get your hopes up! I'm going to try and put off telling work until I'm 12 weeks - as I'll only just be out of my probationary period then.

In announcement news - I think we've been rumbled.

DH's brother invited us on a night out next Friday, to which we replied "m4rdybum can't" without thinking - they know we're not busy as were spending the evening with them and having a meal first. Doh!

He asked straight away but DH said I'm antibiotics for "women's problems" Grin He hasn't asked since.

We're just trying to hold out until Tuesday, after my booking appointment, but we're having tea round there tomorrow night and DH's parents will be there- so I can see it coming out!

m4rdybum · 24/05/2018 18:46

Congrats @Netka30!

I wouldn't worry too much about the spotting you're describing- a lot of people get it, and it's usually seen as implantation bleeding. I had the worst cramps when I was about 4+2 which worried me but again, they're normal for many.

Netka30 · 24/05/2018 18:53

Thank you @m4rdybum 😊

Glad I am not alone then.
Just gotta wait for appointment with gp

SamSmithYawnsWhenHeSings · 24/05/2018 18:55

Can I hop on the January 2019 bus?

I recently tested positive and think I am almost 5 weeks and all going well, due at the end of January. Do we go to the doctor or the midwife first?
