Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Thanks both, maybe a little early to blame baby brain Grin
That’s exciting @m4rdybum I’m waiting until I get to 6 weeks to contact midwife. Don’t want to have to go through booking then cancelling if anything happens.

I reckon I’ll be relatively closely monitored though. I have an older daughter with a lot of congenital medical conditions.

Can I ask is anyone else rhesus negative?

m4rdybum · 14/05/2018 10:47

I understand why you're waiting @sexnotgender. Whatever makes you feel comfortable.

I'm curious as to when everyone is hoping to announce? Me and DH have decided to tell people after my booking in appointment, depending on how soon I can get the scan afterwards. I'm hoping for the following week as I'm off work and don't really want to have to take time off, as don't want to make it obvious in pregnant to them yet!

cryptonaut · 14/05/2018 11:05

@m4rdybum I've already told my best friend as I promised I would tell her straight away (and she will do the same) and I've told my boss today too. I know its really early and I don't have to tell my employer but my job involves A LOT of overseas travel and I needed him to know so that he doesn't book me for any.

My DH is going to the States for work this coming weekend for a week so we're holding off on telling family until he gets back so we can both be there to make the announcement. As for the wider 'public' we're going to wait until at least 12 weeks.

LJFM2B · 14/05/2018 11:11

@sexnotgender rhesus negative is a blood type ... you have to have an injection at the end of your pregnancy and after the birth ... and if little one has positive blood type he/she will get one too. Im RN O found out when i gave blood.

@m4rdybum I have to parents on both sides and had to tell my best friends due to 2 hen parties and i would never of got away with it espically as they all knew i was TTC and having early scan wednesday and i will tell siblings after that and then after 12 weeks will be open to tell all... just nerve wracking because of previous MC's.

Catezxk · 14/05/2018 11:19

Hello, I just found out I'm pregnant, the due date calculator says 18th of Jan 2019. It is such early days still and so scared something will go wrong but i am so excited i want to tell everyone i meet! It is hard to know when to announce to the world, i have told me very immediate family, its a bit different as we have conceived via IVF and quite a few close family and friends knew we were going through the process and therefore keep wanting to know if it has worked. I am mainly just telling people that i also feel i would be happy talking to about it if i lost it. i wont tell work and general friends until 12 weeks though (if i can hold off!) Smile

ohhellojo · 14/05/2018 11:49

m4rdybum I told my mum, but only because she’s living with us at the moment and knew about our mc in Dec. Then the OH told ALL of his family - he was so bloody giddy. I had to tell my dad because we work in the same area and if I suddenly went restricted at work due to sickness or whatever (thankfully I’m actually feeling pretty good atm) he’d find out and presume I was dying (I am very, very rarely ill. And never had a sick day ever in my working life, so it’d be odd of me to not be able to work properly). That leaves all our friends and my brother who we’re not going to tell until either a private 10 week scan or the 12 week scan that shows our little bean in there :)

purplesmiler · 14/05/2018 11:54

@m4rdybum we have told a couple of very very close family members and will tell others after 12 week scan. I'm still so anxious due to having a MC last time so getting through each day at the moment.

m4rdybum · 14/05/2018 12:04

I know what you mean @Catezxk - I think we'll tell parents and siblings only. Then when we have a scan, start telling grandparents, the wider family, , friends etc. I was conscious that it would be good for us to have someone to talk to if anything did go wrong - which is a sad but practical thought! My DH is much more sensitive than me as I can be quite cold and a bit too practical so I was always of the thought I might not be able to give him the full support if the worst does happen - although not intentionally!

In terms of good ol' Facebook, I probably won't be announcing on there until I've told work (So I'll probably be about 15 weeks or so). But I will put it on there as I have a lot of family members who are distant but we do speak on Facebook, so can tell them all in one fell swoop.

sexnotgender · 14/05/2018 12:22

I’ve told nobody. We told DH’s Mum last time because they live thousands of miles away and we were on holiday with them at the time he wanted to tell her face to face.
Then when things went wrong it was so much worse as had to deal with all the sympathy which whilst well meaning just made it 10x harder.
Not telling a soul until at least 8 weeks if not 12, will play it by ear.

LJFM2B · 14/05/2018 12:50

@Catezxk i know what you mean about wanting to tell everybody you see!! i actually told an old woman at the doctors and it was pure bliss haha

LJFM2B · 14/05/2018 12:51

Congratulations to everybody! this is an exciting but scary time. I keep my fingers crossed for us all that we have happy healthy pregnancies and babies.

Catezxk · 14/05/2018 13:19

@LJFM2B haha glad its not just me! we have an early scan booked in 2 weeks and should get to hear a heartbeat, once we hear that i think it will feel a bit safer, i know its never totally safe, but chances drop sharply of a MC and then i will be stopping people in the street!

DareToDream89 · 14/05/2018 13:26

Congratulations to all the newbies who are on here.

Just wondering has anyone else suffered with an upset stomach? I've read it can be a symptom, but I had upset tummy last night and today feel really light headed and just generally yuck. I don't know if I'm over thinking it from where I MC last time. Should I call my MW?? X

Lauraliverpool · 14/05/2018 13:29

Last few days have been feeling nauseous, but today not so much, worrying little bit now. Can't remember when I started feeling sick when I was pregnant last time, I was being sick til about 12 weeks and still trying to work out how many weeks I am going by my last period which was 7th of April. Hoping and praying for a sticky bean. X

Holliek85 · 14/05/2018 14:01

Hi ladies. I am 7+1 weeks going by my LMP of 26th March, so due around 30th December but went for an early scan yesterday I was measured as being 6 weeks. So a bit confused. She said baby is measuring small so could be 6 weeks so couldn't give us a date, but we saw heartbeat and a teeny blob. ❤ we have told our close friends and family already, but u am desorate to tell my son who is 7 1/2. But we're going to wait, although its hard! We have booking apt woth midwife on 23rd when I should be 8w3 days (by my calculations). I've not had sickness but had period like cramps than come and go, so tired, off coffee 😒 some nausea, frequent trips to loo for a wee, and bloat.. Omg the bloat! I can't remember this with my last pregnancy but that was almost 8y ago!

loopdeelou · 14/05/2018 14:34

@DareToDream89 my stomach has been dodgy every morning. Very unlike me. I looked it up and it said it might be prenatal vitamin or changes in hormones. I'm usually constipated (sorry tmi 😂) so am not that bothered by it. Hoping it might help the bloat go down lol.

Feeling extremely sick today. Luckily I'm working from home as I've been able to lie down. Am dreading the rest of the week. Feel like the only way to stop the nausea is eating, so that's not helping the bloat or potential weight gain. I already feel several months pregnant. Even my leggings are feeling a bit snug at the waist 😳

loopdeelou · 14/05/2018 14:36

I still haven't told anyone besides DH and I'm feeling frustrated by it. I feel like I need some sympathy when feeling this rotten! DH is insisting we don't tell anyone until we have a scan. I'm now thinking about booking a private scan just so that I can tell people after.

DareToDream89 · 14/05/2018 14:59

@@loopdeelou it's nice to know I'm not the only one. I'm 7 weeks on Wednesday and have already started wearing maternity jeans!! Much more comfortable than my normal ones xx

Peachy92 · 14/05/2018 15:05

Just got my BFP yesterday, due 15th Jan 2019! Not going to be the best for Birthdays but at least we have plenty of notice! :D Congrats to all on here, New Year baby's! x

loopdeelou · 14/05/2018 15:28

Congrats @Peachy92. Are you worried about the birthday? We initially thought about it but I think it'll be more other people having an opinion on the due date of Jan 6th which will annoy me. I'm just hoping they're healthy and we will deal with the birthday even if baby does come near Christmas.

purplesmiler · 14/05/2018 15:41

Just been and informed my GP (as needed to check as I am on medication). Been told my booking in appointment will be around 8 weeks so just wait to hear now. I want to get excited but am holding back a little due to our last experience. Fingers crossed we all have positive pregnancy journeys.

Mumtoathreenager · 14/05/2018 16:44

Hi all,

Hoping this is ok to post.

I found out that I’m pregnant last week and due around 12th January. I went to the Drs today to confirm and she said it was very faint (which it was early last week plus a CB digital that said 1-2weeks) she also felt my stomach and I’m a bit tender on the left but only when she pushes. She has booked me for an emergency scan tomorrow as a suspected ectopic pregnancy.

Is anyone else still getting faint tests or is a but tender and baby has been ok?

charlybs · 14/05/2018 17:21

@peachy92 our current due date estimate is 28th December so I think in the great date lottery we timed that very poorly haha

m4rdybum · 14/05/2018 17:22

I've not had an upset stomach per se but did have a bit of constipation for a while and then bouts of bellyache. No nausea yet, but only 5 weeks. Reading this thread, sounds like it kicks on for a lot of people around 7 weeks- so I'm stuffing my face with plenty of food now in preparation Grin

@mumtoathreenager My tests definitely got darker but I've heard some people say they saw no change, so don't worry too much until you've had the scan.

jellyfish2210 · 14/05/2018 18:00

@Peachy92 and @charlybs my EDD is 01/01. Poor kids birthday is going to be new year! A good friend of mine is 31st Dec and he has always hated it. I think when it comes to parties we might start a half birthday tradition for friends and keep actual birthday for family celebrations. Have to wait and see when baby decides to be born!
