Just looking for a board to join, have just started weaning myself off conception. I’m due 26th December. Feeling like it would be nice to join a group with people due similar time :)
Feeling a little anxious about things going wrong and dp doesn’t really understand x

Checking in here! Due Date Calculator says 26th December. Though I was 2 weeks over with my DD so who knows.

I have a 2 and half year old and had a pretty shitty pregnancy last time so I don’t know how I’ll cope. Expect moaning.

Had anyone rung there GP yet?

FireAndRain45 · 24/04/2018 17:31

I rang my GP to see if I needed a blood test because of other hormone issues and she said I don't need one and just to book in with the midwife at 6 weeks, and asked me to pick up a pregnancy pack with a load of leaflets.

I seem to have developed dry heaves this afternoon which is delightful Confused

Also I know this is gross but I figure pregnancy is going to be gross from start to finish... I'm having slightly tinged discharge, very slight tan colour like it's got a bit of old brown blood mixed in it? Could that be old implantation stuff? I'm so early on (not quite 3 and a half weeks, have v short cycles) so don't want my period to just show up a couple of days late and it be a chemical.

G00ders1 · 24/04/2018 18:23

@FireAndRain45 The midwife doesn’t want to see me until 8 weeks! And no one has said anything to me about a pregnancy pack - sounds exciting!
I’ve had no discharge or spotting, but from what I’ve read on here and on other websites it’s only appears to be bright red blood that you should worry about, and lots of people said of you are worried then just phone the doctor/midwife/early pregnancy unit and talk to them 👍 this whole thing is quite stressful if you ask me! I’ve been lugging things around today and getting ready to move schools, and apparently I now need to be careful! 🙈
@RoxytheRexy I’ve had 26th December for my due date from the NHS website (some other sites say 22nd December 🤷‍♀️) I went to the GP last week at just over 4 weeks, she was lovely, because I was worried (I’d been out on a hen do, away with husband, around newborn lambs) and she really put my mind at ease, then said I was really early for the midwife who wouldn’t want to see me till I was 8 weeks! 😂 but that’s it, no special pack or anything! 😊 xx

SoyDora · 24/04/2018 18:28

Yeah the midwife sees you between 8-10 weeks here too. That’s why I’ve not bothered phoning yet Grin

FireAndRain45 · 24/04/2018 18:39

I think it's because I've had hormonal issues with my Estrogen and progesterone (suspected early perimenopause) so maybe they need to check that? Also I had loop diathermy treatment on my cervix years back so I reckon that's another factor. They gave me the first of about 50 pots we're gonna need to pee in!

Rose2887 · 24/04/2018 19:01

Hey everyone and newbies! I’m down as 26th December due date too.
Rang dr today and he said I prob won’t see midwife till sometime in June??!! Seems like ages away, sounds wrong?! I haven’t felt a twinge of sickness... although tiredness is enough for me right now!
I was watching some videos on YouTube today about predicting the sex of your baby, one was putting baking soda in your wee (collected in a pot) if it doesn’t fizz it’s a girl if it does then it’s a boy..
I’m not fussed either way though :)
I keep looking at baby bits in the shop when I’m going my food shop but won’t buy anything till the 12 week scan..
Anyone else tempted?? I keep worrying too much about things going wrong xx

OP posts:
SoyDora · 24/04/2018 19:06

Unless it’s a boy we literally won’t need to buy anything, we have everything stored from DD1 and 2!

G00ders1 · 24/04/2018 19:07

@Rose2887 I’m not too surprised about the June thing - my friend didn’t see her midwife until her 12 week scan! It just seems such a long time but I guess there’s not an awful lot they can do before then?
I love the YouTube ideas! 😂😂😂 I think I’ll just wait and see! 👍
I’m very tempted to buy things, I’ve looked at loads, but I won’t contemplate anything till after 12 weeks 👍

FireAndRain45 · 24/04/2018 19:42

Yep I'm having to sit on my hands to not buy a little Sheffield United onesie to present to my DP Grin

emmalou9 · 24/04/2018 19:56

When I spoke to the nurse (I couldn't actually get an appointment to see my GP properly) she didn't say how long it would be until I net the midwife. Just said she would be in touch.
I feel like it's such a strange position to be in as I don't really know what's going on.
DH keeps looking at baby clothes (football themed mostly) I'm thinking of buying baby grows as a way to reveal the pregnancy to parents but other than that the thought of buying clothes at the moment seems too soon, although how long that will last I'm not sure!!

G00ders1 · 24/04/2018 19:59

@emmalou9 clothes to give to your parents would be ridiculously cute! ❤️ But, like we’ve said, it depends how long you can go without telling them really 🤷‍♀️ My DH is exactly the same, all about football 🙈 so I’m certain he’ll be picking out a top soon! 😂😂
I’ve been looking at everything - I’m such a shopaholic, but I don’t want to plan everything I buy because I don’t want to take any surprise and enjoyment away from DH ❤️

dreaminofholidays · 24/04/2018 20:04

is anyone else still doing pregnancy tests? It's such a weird time, I am 5+2 but suspect the doctors will put me at 6+4 due to LMP.
I am so nervous about something going wrong x

Rose2887 · 24/04/2018 20:10

@dreaminofholidays I’ve not done anymore tests but did debate getting a clear blue digital to see how many weeks 🙈 we are all in this together, thank goodness for these forums!! Anyone nervous about the birth? Xx

OP posts:
Rose2887 · 24/04/2018 20:11

@emmalou9 that sounds a lovely idea... I’m not sure how to tell my dad... that’s the trickiest one 😂

OP posts:
Rose2887 · 24/04/2018 20:12

@G00ders1 if I have my first midwife app in June I could be over the 12 weeks then I’ll be worrying as need to have all the tests before hand? Xx

OP posts:
G00ders1 · 24/04/2018 20:14

@Rose2887 I see your point 🤔 I have no experience at all, so am not sure. Maybe phone your doctor and see what they say? Tell them you’re concerned? xx

emmalou9 · 24/04/2018 20:24

@G00ders1 to be fair to him, some of the clothes he's seen are super cute. So I might let him have his 5 minutes of fun. I'm a shopaholic too and for a food few years have been looking at baby clothes and 'awwing' everytime I go shopping.

@Rose2887 we've had lots of ideas of how to reveal it but I think that is my favourite. We reckon my dad will be a dark horse and be the most excited by it. Will your dad not be excited by it all?

G00ders1 · 24/04/2018 20:32

@emmalou9 I’m the same - love looking at baby clothes - I think I’ll bankrupt myself when I actually let myself start buying them!

@dreaminofholidays I’m very nervous about something going wrong too. I woke up on my tummy this morning and have spent the whole day worrying that I’ve damaged myself somehow...like, squashed it. Ridiculous I know. Plus, today I feel ridiculously bloated, which is the first time I’ve felt this way 🙄 I’m worrying about my sleeping positions and I’m worrying about the cramps I’m feeling - but 🤞 it’s stretching pains, as I’ve had no blood xx

Rose2887 · 24/04/2018 20:50

@emmalou9 my dad will be fine but he will be shocked... and I find it harder telling him than my mum!!
@G00ders1 don’t worry I’ve been sleeping on my tummy, my dp told me off tonight and said I have to lay on left side (he’s obv been reading up) I’ve had cramps too but dr told me it’s normal, body growing which explains the tummy I have (although just bloat I doubt it will go now, Jeans tight already!
It’s hard looking at baby clothes as I kept thinking if i have a girl I want some really pretty pieces and if I have a boy I’m going to make him look super stylish but all of the unisex stuff is bland...
I was tempted to buy some bits in Asda.. like a little essentials kit! Picked up my first mum to be pack from Emma diary, anyone else done this? Xx

OP posts:
G00ders1 · 24/04/2018 20:56

@Rose2887 I’ve sogned up to Emma’s Diary but done nothing with it yet - what did you get?!
I keep seeing that Asda are having a baby thing going on, but keep rationalising that there’ll be at least one more before I have a baby 🙏

mamfypuss · 25/04/2018 03:54

Hi Everyone,
Found out yesterday I was pregnant. But could feel it before hand.
I think the dates work out around the 27th December. So completely obvious it wasn't planned. Told my mum yesterday and she sad you have no idea what's coming. I only feel weird.. like going to the toilet lots and boobs are a little sore. Sometimes I feel like it's not real, but all the tests said otherwise! X

FireAndRain45 · 25/04/2018 06:43

I've cut out the little coupon to get the Emma's diary stuff! Is it any good?

I'm feeling a bit bamboozled by how soon I've got symptoms and how strong they are. Boobs hurting, burping and heaving lots, cramps, needing the loo all the time, wind!

Pregnancy is going to be glaaaaamorous

Anyone else just marvelling at how quickly your body can change? I'm nervous for the rest of pregnancy now, if this is how different things are only 3 1/2 weeks in!

dreaminofholidays · 25/04/2018 11:41

I know exactly what you mean. I am not sure my symptoms are as strong as yours but I have sore boobs, cramping and needing the bathroom more frequently.
It's so bizarre to think that this little bean is something like the size of a poppy seed but already things are changing.
Also having this huge secret is weird, worried I will suddenly blurt it out at work or something.
Finding this is a very strange time but so good to hear from others in a similar boat x

Rose2887 · 25/04/2018 15:20

Had to tell my work today as I do a lot of lifting, just my manager and she was lovely!
Still not feeling sick but done a boots digital and it’s dating me correctly so that’s put my mind at ease.

The Emma’s diary bags are okay, but I got my first one and everything goes off in November so seems pointless, I have a friend who’s due middle of this year so may send those bits to her :)

How’s everyone else today??

I’m finding my legs are aching after being on them all day, it’s definitely going to become harder xx
