Just looking for a board to join, have just started weaning myself off conception. I’m due 26th December. Feeling like it would be nice to join a group with people due similar time :)
Feeling a little anxious about things going wrong and dp doesn’t really understand x

@Rose2887 that sounds hard, hopefully they'll let you take breaks but I used to work in catering and I know getting to sit down on a busy day is an impossible task sometimes. Luckily I work from home which I think will make any morning sickness etc easier especially as I'm phobic about being sick (next few weeks should be fun).

I did actually have mayo for lunch, binned my chorizo though. You're right @FoxgloveStar it's a bit much, I got told at Holland and Barrett I can't use a couple of drops of lavender in my bath Hmm. Also read that you can't have your bath temperature above 36 degrees and you should have a water thermometer?! Surely as long as it's not hot hot but comfortably warm it's ok

FoxgloveStar · 27/04/2018 16:20

Don’t smoke or take drugs
Don’t drink too much, but a bit is ok
Don’t have too much caffeine, but some is ok
Don’t have high mercury fish like swordfish and limit your tuna.

...

Most of the rest of the food advice is about lowering your chances of getting food poising, which is grim during pregnancy but isn’t likely to affect the baby. Now is probably not the time to have a blue steak or petrol station sushi but just be sensible.

The hot bath thing is about not raising your body temp so high that you give yourself a temperature. A hot bath is ok but if you feel too hot or faint at all you just need to get out.

FoxgloveStar · 27/04/2018 16:24

Also these early weeks are when a lot of the really important development happens, including the neural tube closing up. If ever there is a time to limit the drinking right down, seems to me it’s in the first tri.

FireAndRain45 · 27/04/2018 19:09

I've just realised I'm further along than I thought I was, officially...it's v confusing. I have short 22 day cycles so if I went by the date of my last period (1st April) I'd be 3 +5. All the online calculators where you have to enter your last period date/conception date and cycle length have me at 4 +4 though?! I ov'd on the 12th. Dr confirmed my due date as 31st December.

I'm probably being really thick but I can't figure out which one is right. I'm blaming it on all these 6am wake ups Confused

mamfypuss · 27/04/2018 19:57

@FireAndRain45 ahh that's so helpful thanks. I google everything as I have no idea what I'm doing and I think that makes it all worse. I'm going to the doctors Tuesday. So hopefully that will help too. I'll definitely be investing in that book. Thank you xx

Pob13 · 27/04/2018 23:00

Rose2887 · 27/04/2018 23:00

Rose what happened to June?!

helbel42 · 28/04/2018 06:23

Great news @Rose2887! I've got to ring back next week for mine, fingers crossed I can get something early, starting to go a bit cuckoo over here! The early scan googling has started and I'm only 4 +4! X

G00ders1 · 28/04/2018 08:22

Yay @Rose2887 that’s great! Mine is the day after yours - you’ll have to tell me what they do!

Currently feeling very sick a lot of the time 🙄 can’t figure out if there’s anything that helps xx

Pob13 · 28/04/2018 08:26

Getting a bit fed up of these cramps. It makes me feel like something is wrong. Everytime i go to the loo i expect to see blood.
DH is getting so excited. Im getting so worried about dissapointing him.

FireAndRain45 · 28/04/2018 08:40

@Pob13 I feel exactly the same, checking every time I go to the loo expecting to see blood, it's horrible!

Those of you who've already had a baby, when does it start to feel real? Is it when you've had a scan and started to get a bump?

I'm aware I'm pregnant, in theory, but it currently feels more like some sort of medical issue?! Having an actual baby seems like a fairly abstract concept at the moment

Rose2887 · 28/04/2018 09:27

@Pob13 I don’t know.. guessing the drs estimates were far out!!!!

@helbel42 we will have to let each other know how we get on..

@G00ders1 I’ll def let you know.. you let me know if yours was any different xx

Thank you to fireandrain for pointing me in the direction of this thread.

I found out I was expecting on Thursday.
I took a FRER late afternoon and got a fairly decent line.

Have ran out of HPT’s and have being using OPK’s instead. This mornings was lighter than yesterday’s which doesn’t bode well to me.

The last time I M/C the FRER was lighter the second time I did itSad

Iswallowtoothpaste · 28/04/2018 09:44

I’m also cramping quite a lot. Fairly mild but it’s all day on and off.

FoxgloveStar · 28/04/2018 12:28

I feel massive already! Maybe it’s because it’s my second or maybe I’m further along than I think I am. I’m not heavier but my stomach definitely firmer and bigger already. Don’t know how I’m going to manage to hide it for another month.

problembottom · 28/04/2018 15:51

I've started having cramps on and off today too for the first time. It's worrying isn't it.

FireAndRain45 · 28/04/2018 16:26

@FoxgloveStar i can't do my jeans up today. I'm just gross and bloated, gonna buy one of those stretchy things that attaches to your trouser button so I don't feel like a squashed sausage

G00ders1 · 28/04/2018 16:33

@FireAndRain45 please god tell me where you get them from?! I’ve so far squeezed myself into my jeans twice, and am vowing to live the next 7-8 months (and probably a LONG time after!) in leggings! I feel so constricted! Which then makes me feel sick.

Felt a bit weird and light headed walking around Tesco just - maybe I was hungry...freaking out about blood pressure now 🙄

Rose2887 · 28/04/2018 16:37

@FoxgloveStar I’m showing already too.its my second so guess that’s why, I’m using a hairband!!! X

Hi everyone.

Really nice to see an active thread where we're all due similar time, hoping all things pan out as we wish. Having everything crossed. I feel like I'm being very over protective. My due date is December 28th. It could never have been another time. My husbands birthday is 24th mine is 7th, wedding anniversary 16th with Christmas and and New Year thrown in!!! Typical, but wonderful. December is going to be a very expensive month and very special.

K x

FireAndRain45 · 28/04/2018 17:09

@G00ders1 trouser expanders! for the hinterland before you have a bump and you just look like you've eaten 3 pizzas

G00ders1 · 28/04/2018 17:32

@FireAndRain45 thank you - I love how one of the pictures on amazon is of an old man buttoning up his trousers...🙈 clearly missing the key demographic of pregnant women!

Also, I don’t know about 3 pizzas...I look like I’ve emptied Domino’s! 🙈

RoxytheRexy · 29/04/2018 07:07

Ladies I’m so pleased to be checking back in here. Just catching up now.

I was wondering about the early morning wakings. I’ve been up at 5 every morning on the dot. I’m knackered

Going to have to get a little trouser extender as I’m so bloated. I live in skinny jeans so if I can’t wear them I have very little to put on.

It’s my second and my DD is 3 in August. Running around after a toddler is not helping my tiredness

I’m wondering about work. I have a very physical job (ITU Nurse) and it’s high risk for all kinds of reasons. I might ask to go non-clinical for a bit.

I’ve told my sister and that’s it really. Going to wait till I’m a bit further on to tell anyone else

Rose2887 · 29/04/2018 07:15

Hello newbies and congrats!!!!
Nice to see we have a great group of ladies all due similar times.

I’m becoming increasingly irritable and not sure my partner knows how to deal with it. We had a house move (temp) this weekend and I’ve been so tired, feel like I can’t cope. We told his parents and they were really happy, my mum came to help us yesterday and my dp got really annoyed as my mum didnt even say congratulations to him!!!!

We ended up arguing all evening and he’s fallen asleep on the sofa 🙄 makes me feel so lonely as I’m dealing with this all on my own.

Sorry girls it’s these early morning rants xxx
