Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

lmx0 · 08/05/2018 22:51

@CremeDeSudo ohh i bet you cant wait!! Thats flew in!! Boost bars are lovely i never found they gave me the energy though!!

WreckItRach · 08/05/2018 22:57

@lmx0 it was like a trickle throughout the day but there was a fair amount! Sorry to be gross! I just don't get how you tell what it is!

thetriangleisarealinstrument · 08/05/2018 23:00

I cant fit my wedding ring on my finger any more Sad
It feels like im being stabbed in or my pubic bone is being prized apart, when ive been walking for a long period

lmx0 · 08/05/2018 23:15

@WreckItRach if it carrys on tomorrow id ring your midwife just incase your leaking fluid when do u see the midwife again?
@thetriangleisarealinstrument awww 😞 the hoys for pregnancy ive been having like stabbing pains on my left today its only now and again but they hurt!! Im thinking little miss is kicking a nerve or something

Embracethechaos · 09/05/2018 00:55

The triangle, I got really anxious about my back pelvis pain, in the second trimester looking into it the pubic bone pain is the most debititabing and worth mentioning to the midwife, mine I could relive with resting and stretching. I'm a radiographer and my lower back and left hip pain is something lots of the elderly population live with everyday, the ligament at the frount of you public bone is being stretched.. No muscles attached there to stretch out, make sure you take it easy. Sad

Lmxo, I've had simular pains, last night esspesally, just above my pelvis. I fell asleep at 10:30 last night, at 12:30, woke up with acid reflux, nearly vomited but had a bit of gaviscon and am sat on the sofa waiting for my stomach to settle. Yesterday 8 didn't eat much until about 4pm then ate too much. It might be the recent medication change but I think I just need to get better at regular snacking.

WreckItRach · 09/05/2018 07:52

@lmx0 I'll keep an eye on it today and maybe phone. My appointment is next Friday.

I hope you are all feeling a bit better today. Pelvic pain sounds horrendous!
@Embracethechaos I hope your acid reflux is better, smaller meals definitely helped me

Embracethechaos · 09/05/2018 09:30

Thanks, woke up from the sofa at 5:50 feeling really stiff then to the loo and to bed. I've been really lucky with nothing much sickness in this pregnancy, just waking up with the urge to vomit is stressful as I used to not make it out of bed when I was sick as a child (sorry tmi).

lmx0 · 09/05/2018 09:55

@Embracethechaos i mentioned it to DH and he had asked was she poking me with her elbow or foot i never thought if her elbow so could have been that!! She may not make habit of it lol yes the starving then stuffinng yourself will make that so much worse!! Ive had acid reflux from i was a child so i feel your pain its really not nice!!
@WreckItRach yes keep an eye on it or if your worried ring just to be safe and deffo mention it next fri

readysetcake · 09/05/2018 10:31

Gosh everyone sounds like they’ve been suffering 😪 hope aches and pains have improved today. @wreckItRach I had a lot of wetness in my first pregnancy. Got it checked out and wasn’t waters and it didn’t smell so I think I just had loads of discharge 😳 worth a check and mention though as they can leak slowly.
Never heard of those bra extenders! Bit late for me now as I’ve brought massive mega bras, wish I’d known weeks ago.
First real day of Mat leave today. DD in nursery and I’ve just eaten a maple and pecan danish in silence and about to hit the garden and read my book. Bliss! Resolutely ignoring all aches and stabby pains. But now I really want a boost!

NooNooHead · 09/05/2018 12:38

Ooh, I’m getting the odd twinge / pains down my thighs and backache on and off for a couple of days now, but it does seem a bit early to be having these as i’m only 34w tomorrow...

On the other hand, it is my second baby so maybe he is going to make an earlier entrance than his sister did 7and a half years ago when she was 2 weeks overdue...Shock

lmx0 · 09/05/2018 12:59

@readysetcake that sounds like the perfect way to start your mat leave!!!
@NooNooHead hopefully little baba comes sooner than she did but not this soon!! I would get pains in my back and down my legs too i just out it down to being on my feet alot

Embracethechaos · 09/05/2018 14:14

Lmxo, acid reflux sucks. I'm lucky in that before I was pregnant I was very healthy and had barely any puberty symptoms, periods came in slowly and easily...i could also eat whatever I wanted and not pay for it... Since leaving school I've Only really vomited if I drank too much and the worse sickness I've had in years is a slight headcold.. I'm struggling now with the shock of body my lack of control when it comes to eating... Esspesally chocolate...

readysetcake · 09/05/2018 16:31

Don’t worry embrace the self control does come back! I wouldn’t worry too much and just eat the chocolate. I found it easier to cut out the binge eating one the baby arrives. Just by cutting out rubbish I dropped a stone quickly last time. Second stone I had to work a bit harder to shift 😂

Can I just rant at the “is the baby here yet” messages. 😡 I could have weeks of this. Even my mothers at it. Arghhhhh. I might have to drop my phone down the loo and just use MN in my laptop.

lmx0 · 09/05/2018 18:08

@Embracethechaos ohhh shhhh you!!! Im the opposite awful puberty periods are hell every month and i look at food and i pile on weight!!! Dont worry and eat the chocolate youll be too busy too when baby arrives!!!

@readysetcake seriously?! And you've only just started your mat leave my reply would be a very blunt you'll know when when baby is here!!! Then after that i wouldnt be replying

Embracethechaos · 10/05/2018 06:26

Sorry lmxo, I have friends like you, they hate me being able to eat so much. I struggled to get enough calories in the second trimester, I think that's why I was craving chocolate and anything sweet and fatty. Chocolate is my enemy, it used to give me exzma and does make me feel unwell now if I eat too much. I think the dark part gives me migraines and the cocoa butter gives me ezcma (my dry hands were made worse by cocoa butter hand cream). I'll still eat a bit of chocolate, I'll just try to keep it below a multipack. Grin

lmx0 · 10/05/2018 07:56

@Embracethechaos they say you crave what you need and yes chocolate can have that effect on people
@WreckItRach how the leaking?

Embracethechaos · 10/05/2018 08:16

Very true, my mil craved bananas and coffee, bananas are now officially recommended as a good pregnancy snack... 8 mugs of coffee a day not so much, but her baby was fine. After craving and eating certain foods I read they are recommend for curtain symptoms (I love peppermint and liquishie tea and it's good for digestion, allthough I worried about quantity of liquishie I had in the first trimester (along with hair dye and a hot bath and binged on smoked Mackrel once ) , baby survived somehow! Liquishie is a mild laxitive and I needed it.

Embracethechaos · 10/05/2018 08:20

Ready set cake, I've taken the simcard out of my smart phone and bought the retro Nokia for calls and texts. Did that in my first trimester when I was missing phone calls and an appointment, not used to needing to be contrantly contactable. We need a break, mobile phones and the expectancy to be contrantly contactable is something older generations did not have to deal with!!!

CremeDeSudo · 10/05/2018 09:21

@Paie How're you getting on?

Seriously ladies, I can't wait 'til I start Mat Leave and I can start having daytime naps!!

Paie · 10/05/2018 10:29

@CremeDeSudo

Hi all! Congrats @smurfybubbles on your newborn!

I'm still lumbering along here, feeling huge again today and another restless nights sleep- partly due to bump, partly due to DPs sweaty wriggling, and partly due to my not-so-adorable cat attacking my legs all through the night!
Driving test in a week and I haven't driven in months.... I really need to pass before having this baby!!
Morning sickness has eased up though it will come back with a vengeance now I've said that so not too much sickness now only a cheeky mid-walk vomit on my way into work this morning

Hows everyone else doing? Managed to cope with the lovely sun we've had recently? Smile

Buddy17 · 10/05/2018 14:11

Hi all
I'm 37+5 today and sorry to jump on this post but acid reflux is now at the point it's so unbearable (along with a list of other things...general aches pains and unable to get comfy, nothing fits Sad
Is anyone else suffering with this; I litterally can't eat nothing it all gives me that burning sensation following by a good session of throwing up...I'm bored of looking at the inside of the toilet bowl to be honest.

WreckItRach · 10/05/2018 14:24

@Paie I'm glad your sickness is starting to ease up at least! @Buddy17 welcome, I hope your acid reflux improves, have you been taking anything for it?

@lmx0 the leaking is still there, it's officially discharge. I ended up at the hospital last night with really bad cramps, nausea, diarrhoea and they did an abundance of checks. Baby is fine and my womb is still closed which is good, I just have a bad viral bug which then kept me up all night with sickness and diarrhoea. I'm off work today and tomorrow, seriously thinking about starting Mat leave earlier. 3 solid weeks of different illnesses now, I think my body is struggling to cope!

I hope everyone is doing ok today x

Buddy17 · 10/05/2018 14:30

@WreckItRach I've tried everything, gaviscon, rennies, omeprazole, ranitidine
The doctors told me it could be specific foods, spicy etc, now it's honestly just anything at all it puts me off eating. I've got my MW appointment tomorrow and HV attending this afternoon I'm hoping one of them has some more advice!

readysetcake · 10/05/2018 14:42

@buddy17 hello 👋🏻 sorry to hear of your heartburn troubles. I’ve had it from the start but omeprazole has kept it under control (thank god, I was ready to tear my own throat out). Though even that has been hit and miss these last few days. Yours sounds way worse and I really feel for you. It’s horrendous. Hopefully baby makes a swift exit and gives you relief soon.

@wreckItRach really sounds like you’ve been through the mill. Glad all is ok in terms of leaking. It might be wise to finish a bit earlier If you feel you need to. You’re going to need your energy and you could give birth early giving you very little Mat leave to rest.

@embracethechaos you’re stronger than me, I’m far too addicted to my phone to go old school! I will just start to ignore people that ask too often though. I’ve withdrawn from social media a lot over the last year and not announced this pregnancy, so at least I’m under the radar of people I hardly know bugging me!

Embracethechaos · 10/05/2018 15:24

Readysetcase, I'm only strong somedays. I've also withdrawn a bit from social media too, especially Facebook was driving me crazy. and only announced it to people I see regularly, family and a few close friends. Feel like I should do a social media announcement after births... Maybe 3 months after. I get my social media kicks from setting up a Instagram page for my dog... He quickly overtook me in followers.

Wreck it Ralph - do it with the mat leave. I was signed off sick for early mat leave by occupational health, was emotionally crushing as I'd been trying so hard to stay, reduced hours etc.. But I got over it in a couple of days it was definitely the right decision and I feel so much healthier.

Rant of the day from me. I'm feeling good today, had a midwife appointment, did some shopping then popped into work to sort some bits out and see people. Saw a distant college.. Conversation goes something along the lines of.
C:you look different, are you expecting.
Me: yes, bet I look different outside of work clothes.
C:whens it due
Me:9 weeks.
C: really, your/it's huge.
Me..... Erm I'm a bit bloated today.

Sorry what?! A normally polite and friendly college is now allowed to tell me I'm huge after a midwife has said how good everything is going..I've not had any weight checks as I have no weight issues.. I was slouching in a chair only because my bum is too bony to sit comftably on most chairs...
