Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

SK166 whoop whoop happy last day!!! Bet you skip about work today with a huge smile on your face haha. Keeping everything crossed you aren't left hanging now...boredom sucks!!!

I hated the idea of induction initially, but i'm so tired & fed up if my MW told me they could induce today i'd kiss her. I don't actually think I care how he arrives anymore as long as he gets here safely!!

Embracethechaos · 14/06/2018 09:40

Hi SKK, It's a strange kind of bordom waiting, like I know I should make the most of my last childfree weeks but not having the energy or concentration to do much. I've been more bored though, lots to plan, buy and research. mustbemad, in the NCT course they said theres research to show eating dates inthe last 4 weeks before due date can reduce the need for induction. I'm 36 weeks today and have just found a recipe for date cake which is in the over. :). I'm pretty neutral on induction, my mum wished she'd been offered it earlier for lots of her pregnacies (she was induced every time) so induction seems normal to me and I'd glad the NHS offer it quite readily. However, if I can give birth naturally that's a positive but not an expectation in my mind.

mustbemad17 · 14/06/2018 09:45

Embrace my MAMA with my MW team told me about dates...think it's a bit late for me now haha

Butterflyrosebud · 14/06/2018 10:25

Anyone else finding it hard to walk anywhere? I haven’t left the house for two days!

My dogs is giving me guilty looks which makes me feel worse Sad

lmx0 · 14/06/2018 11:24

@mustbemad17 hopefully today goes well!!
@Embracethechaos i live it smwhen she dances to music its so funny she dosent have a song yet however the amount of times ive played ed sheeran lately shes bound to be a fan by the time shes born!!!
@SK166 yes i am thanks!! 4 appointments in one week?? I thought i was bad having 6 within 2!! (Including classes) and im sure you are so happy to be finishing ive only 2 weeks left and cant wait
@Butterflyrosebud im not at that stage yet but rolling over in bed is awful!! And i seem to want to change sides all the blooming time!!

mustbemad17 · 14/06/2018 12:39

I'm very deflated tbh 😔 my mum has had to go home so will miss little man being born now. Nothing has really changed except little man's position, so have an induction being booked in for next week.

letsallhaveanap · 14/06/2018 12:54

butterfly yes I feel like ive been punched in the crotch and someones tried to pull off one of my legs... Been in the house for a couple of days now... dont dare venture out

Bibijayne · 14/06/2018 12:58

28 weeks! Final straight!

I am so damned tired... I cannot wait for my maternity leave to start so I can just sleep (with a big ass fan on me obviously!)

LostMyBaubles · 14/06/2018 13:15

Wish I didnt have to leave the house!

Got him to the drs this morning and hes on antibiotics now for tonsilitis (which I noticed this morning when I looked down his throat)

Tmi but has anyone had white bits in their wee??
Its defo not toilet paper as weve run out at home ( hubbys bringing it back soon) so ive been washing after a wee. Just done a sample to be sent to the labs and its got white bits in ir Confused
I have been getting pain while I wee in my stomach?

Embracethechaos · 14/06/2018 14:20

Only the lab can tell lost but I have had a uti before and my wee was cloudy with bits in, I gave a sample to the midwife today and I had a trace of blood but I did only squeeze out a dribble and the midwife said that's commen for the last bits in your bladder to be a bit icky. I don't have any uti symptoms though. We just need to make sure I drink enough flush any possible nasties out.

Kitcat159 · 14/06/2018 14:52

Ooh can I join?
I'm 34+2 and I'm hot and

Kitcat159 · 14/06/2018 14:54

Apparently over eager lol

Hot tired and uncomfortable!
Suffering with horrible hayfever and can't get comfortable unless I slept on my back but that's apparently a big no no.

Oh also petrified of birth!!

Butterflyrosebud · 14/06/2018 15:36

It’s good being a hermit and not feeling bad about it Smile

Lost - sounds like UTI. Get your midwife to check at next appointment or if it’s bothering you I’d see GP a bit sooner!

I thought I’d be super nervous about birth but now I just want it to happen.. not sure I’ll feel that way when I start getting contractions though.

LostMyBaubles · 14/06/2018 16:55

Back from hosp just white blood cells in wee so they've sent it off

Bump is measuring 5 weeks ahead!
Growth scan next month

Welcome kit

SK166 · 14/06/2018 21:31

@Lost - hope all is ok with the test results. I'm sure it'll be ok. Fingers crossed the growth scan shows a nice, average-sized baby too!

@Kit - welcome! Whenever you think of the birth, just keep reminding yourself that at the end of it, you won't have to be pregnant any more. That's my mantra currently!

@lmx0 - it feels so good to be freeeeee! Hope your final two weeks flies by!

@must - so sorry your mum had to go. But just keep hold of the fact that, one way or another, you'll get to meet your little guy next week and all this waiting and nonsense will finally be over!

Had a slightly infuriating appointment this morning with the consultant midwife. I was booked in on my community midwife's advice, because I'm hypermobile and have SPD so they suggested I have a discussion about what the particular risks might be for me in the event of an instrumental intervention, so that I can put something clearly in the birth plan about careful positioning or possibly escalating to c-section instead of a high forceps delivery. Tried to have this discussion, calmly and rationally, with the consultant midwife and it was like talking to an overly perky brick wall who just kept parroting back inane reassurances about me being 'so tall and slim!' and 'on course for a lovely, normal delivery in the water!' and 'try hypnobirthing!'. Honestly, I felt so bloody patronised and I'm so irritated that I wasted half my morning to achieve nothing. She just wouldn't even engage with the idea that anything might possibly go wrong for me and that I'd actually like to be informed about options in advance of that. Not quite sure where to go from here...

lmx0 · 14/06/2018 23:24

@mustbemad17 thats a pity would she be able to come once baby is finally here? What day is your induction?
@letsallhaveanap punched in the crouch i always feel like this really uncomfortable isnt it!!
@Bibijayne i remember being really tired around 28 weeks too hopefully it will pass
@Kitcat159 im the same i get comfy for a little bit then bam need to move and ive found laying on my back comfy for a while then i feel like im being squished
@LostMyBaubles 5 weeks?! Did they say much about it??
@SK166 thank you im sure you skipped out of work today!!

LostMyBaubles · 15/06/2018 00:59

Sk that's really unhelpful
Is there someone else you can speak to?
Imx0
Not much apart from your last was big and this is big. Have growth scan next month. Im worried about delivering a bigger baby and bleeding 😯
How are you feeling

lmx0 · 15/06/2018 03:59

@SK166 thats awful!!! Could you contact your community mw and tell her?
@LostMyBaubles Hopefully if the next scan shows the same they may consider bringing you in early before baby gets too big what size where all your other babies? Im ok thanks ive hospital in morning think im having a growth scan too so cant wait too baby again an hopefully all is well

LostMyBaubles · 15/06/2018 08:53

Youngest was classed as LGA baby he was just off 10lb

Awww hope the scan goes well

lmx0 · 15/06/2018 11:15

@LostMyBaubles 10lb!!! Wow well done you hopefully they are wrong about this one and thanks

Embracethechaos · 15/06/2018 14:25

I'm definatly feeling sweaty and fretty today, increase in appointments, everything is fine but the perinatal mental health team have suggested possibly increasing my meds which I don't think is nessersary. I'll have to wait to speak to the consulatant...he was quite happy with me last time and I've read all the infomation, in the third trimester I acceptend the increase because of the increase blood volume...doesn't make sence to me to increase it around the time of birth when stability is important...thats from a psychatrist.... I don't cope well with sleep deprivation so thats the concern with a newborn, basically iv'e got to get a clear birth plan in place, I am seeing so many profesionals, my comunity midwife is off sick so I've had two different midwives the last 2 appointments (I'm lucky in my area to have the same community midwife...I know they are all there to support me but it just seems a bit much right now). I'm a go with the flow type of person so for something as unpredictable as childbirth I'm not keen on a plan but am coming round to the concept. I have got myself the positive birth book. Got lots of washing to do, but I feel too hot and dizzy.. this week has flown by.

lmx0 · 15/06/2018 15:37

Scan went well everything is going the way it should and little miss is measuring around 5lb 6oz and if she comes around her due date she is predicted to be about 7lb 10oz so good size the fella wasnt as good as the last one but cant have great all the time lol feeling sick today again but ill power through hope you all are well today 😊

SK166 · 15/06/2018 17:55

@lmx0 - good news about the scan! Sorry you’re feeling sick though. How much longer have you got to go?

Had my 38 week appointment today. Different midwife AGAIN. I think that’s now 7 different midwives I’ve seen in this pregnancy. That said, she was great and actually had a sensible conversation with me about the whole hypermobility/interventions situation so I feel a bit better informed now. She also said baby is perfect - good size, not huge (I was paranoid!), good position and 4/5 engaged so we’re on the way. Just a waiting game now.

Time to stock the freezer, pack the hospital bag and hoover up the dog hair I guess!

Embracethechaos · 15/06/2018 18:30

Sk, exciting times, glad your midwife appointment went well, I'm a bit nervous about my baby being huge by the time I give birth but it's within the lines on the graph so I think I'm OK. I feel like I may have a cold coming on, sore throat, headake. Feeling paranoid about infection after it was discussed in my last midwife appointment (uti, and I'm also thinking my waters might break and I not notice) feel like I have slightly swollen glands in my neck this evening but probably imaging it. I don't get ill, often I only get a tickle in my throat when everyone else has a bad cold.
