Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

@WreckItRach thats great news!! How are you feeling?
@GottaBeStrong can your mum help you a bit when she comes?
@mustbemad17 thats good shes a good help and doesn't faff or fuss and the stress is gone 😊

Ive been having a few pains today which im just putting down to stretching but shall keep an eye on them currently having a little bounce on my ball as little miss kept really pushing what felt like her bum against me and thankfully thats moved her

mustbemad17 · 10/06/2018 09:14

I've been on the ball a lot recently but tbh i'm confused about exactly what i'm meant to be doing...are we supposed to bounce in the hope it directs them gravity's way??? Or rock our hips??? I feel like i'm on a stationary space hopper sometimes haha

LostMyBaubles · 10/06/2018 12:09

Must
What ever feels comfortable for you

Lidl have got maternity and child event on atm (started today)
Been out and bought a nursing bra.
Should have bought more they are so comfy!
They dont have the best sizing available
Think 38 b c d e and 1 in 40
Hth someone looking for bras

I did get my urine tested the other day and theyve put me on more antibiotics for having symptoms and because of my kidney problems but dipstick didn't show much
Was in agony last night this spd pgp what ever it wants to be called is really getting to me.
And my lower back! Omfg. Was horrendous. Did hurt this morning too but has thankfully calmed down

lmx0 · 10/06/2018 15:19

@LostMyBaubles ohhh i must go and have a look thanks!!! I hope you get some relief soon!!
@mustbemad17 id go with whatever you can manage i do a bit of both ill have a little bounce then rock side to side then circles

Sleeping is getting harder tossing and turning then cant get comfortable and waking with a sore back oh the joys

MamamamaT · 10/06/2018 18:00

Lostmybaubles have you tried any spd/pgp exercises like the ones I linked to? They honestly completely sorted it for me so can't recommend them highly enough.

Lmx0 I know, it's such a pain isn't it, I'm having the same issues. Tossing and turning at night and when I first get up I always waddle along with a hand on my lower back like a caricature of a pregnant lady! Waking fairly early which isn't too bad when the weather's like this. Actually found a dress in the cupboard that I like myself in today so that's a huge win as mostly feeling hideous! Starting to feel verrrry keen for this baby to come but I know I need to be careful what I wish for!

lmx0 · 10/06/2018 19:50

@MamamamaT ohh yay!! Its great when that happens although im finding its very few and far between these days!! Also getting up first thing in the morning and not able to stand up straight as bladder is about to burst the joys!! How long have you left?
@LostMyBaubles i went to lidl and they had none so had a quick look online and its not here 😢 i was gutted!!! Although i think it was here a few weeks back and i missed it

LostMyBaubles · 10/06/2018 19:54

www.lidl.co.uk/en/Non-Food-Offers.htm?id=688 that's the link.
I thought they all stocked things at similiar times?

Mama I did try them and they didnt help 😔 did carry on trying for a few days to see if it made a diff but hasnt so stopped. I would like physio to give me some crutches for when out and about so im not putting too much weight on that side. My legs almost gave way today 🤔

lmx0 · 10/06/2018 20:04

@LostMyBaubles im in NI so think we have different times than the rest of UK

lmx0 · 11/06/2018 08:22

How are we all today mummies? I woke this morning with nausea and vomiting i really hope this is not MS returning!!! Anyone else love it when baby get hiccups? I think its so cute and funny and my bump has started to jump a tiny bit each time!!

Embracethechaos · 11/06/2018 09:31

I'm feeling good, I may take a trip to lidl this morning, allthough the one in my town is not great. I was. So sleepy on Saturday. I tried to buy another bra, (maternity and nursing) from M&S today but couldn't find one that was comfy and I was getting a bit hot and flustered with the extra strap and trying with and without my bra extenders. I'm still wearing non wired not maternity tshirt bras. I also read on a label it's best to get fitted 2 weeks before your due date, so I'm going to book a Fitting for a few weeks time. I'm quite anxious that at 35 weeks I could go into labour any time as my mum had her first at 35 weeks, like mine now my older sister was bigger than average. Looking at the charts it seems like if I gave birth now it would be premature as it's birth weight is nearly 3kg (It says it in pounds but I prefer kg). I was scanned at 35+1, I'm now 35+4 We're not ready though and my dh had a bit of a panic last night thinking I'm going to be 37 this week, that magical milestone, and were not ready. I've been thinking since 30 weeks baby could come anytime. At my last appointment the midwife said she will request a side room room for me and refer me to a maternity support worker if I wanted due to mental health issues. I'm really happy that I'll get a side room if it's free but can't really brag about the side room to other pregnant women in the real world and I was in two minds about another professional but she said I could meet her before birth and then it's up to me whether or not I want her support. I'm also a bit damp down below but pretty sure it's not anionic fluid, think it's just a combination of extra discharge, sweat and pee but I'll keep an eye on it as my mum's waters broke before any signs of labour every time. Yesterday I got slightly swollen and blotchy ankles and legs but they weren't itchy and the blotchy Ness didn't last long so I'm wearing cooler clothes today. I wore jeggings, socks and shoes yesterday.

MamamamaT · 11/06/2018 09:51

Oh no baubles I'm really sorry to hear that. How many weeks are you now? Might be worth carrying on doing them for a little longer in case it takes slightly longer to take effect? Unless it hurts or you feel it's making it worse of course. But yes you should definitely talk to physio and get all the help you possibly can, poor things

Lmx0 yes I love the hiccups! I was letting DS1 feel yesterday :) it's lobely to feel them. That's rubbish about the nausea & vomiting though. Really hope that clears up ASAP.

lmx0 · 11/06/2018 10:04

@Embracethechaos try and not let the stress get to you and DH you still have plenty of time before your due date to get stuff finished and if baby does come before then then so be it the stuff will wait (i know thats alot easier said than done!) yes 37 weeks really is such a big milestone isnt it ohh thats good about the side room!! They are lovely and give you some privacy my hospital offers home from home rooms but if i cant have one of them i hope ill get a side room but I reckon at the time ill not be too fussy lol im always damp done there atm between sweat & discharge ohh the glamour!!
@MamamamaT thanks

Embracethechaos · 11/06/2018 10:13

Thanks lmxo, I tend to wear airy clothes so I stay dry, I find pads uncomfortable (use a mooncup for periods and they're amazingly comftable) I can't wait to meet my baby but I'm not looking forward to labour and postnatal bleeding, hope I can recover from birth quickly. I'd get a side room that's usually paid for if they're free, taking priority over anyone wanting to pay. I think there on sweat but our tour is in 2 weeks time. Feels a. Bit like I'm packing for a surprise Holiday, not sure about when or how long. I'm buying a snorkel, I've heard they can be useful in a birthing pool, just don't need suncream Smile

lmx0 · 11/06/2018 10:19

@Embracethechaos 😂😂 are you planning a water birth? Id love one i think id find it really helpful i found i couldnt wear pads or panty liners they seemed to make me sweat even more and gave me a rash which was then very uncomfortable!! The oacking business is awful isnt it as much as i love doing it its the unknown how much are you going to need what are you going to need however i think ive the babys stuff sorted although ill prob go through it all again

WreckItRach · 11/06/2018 10:37

Sorry I haven't been on much, exhaustion has well and truly taken over.
We came home last night. After a scan of chest and legs, no blood clots found but they found an infection on my lung which is the cause of the pain. I was on strong IV antibiotics and now have a stock of painkillers, antibiotics and iron tablets to take. We had a lovely family room in the hospital, we were really lucky but hopefully we are done with the place now!

How are you lovely mummies getting on?
@lmx0 I hope your sickness has gone, bless you.

LostMyBaubles · 11/06/2018 11:12

Wreck glad you are home and on the path of recovery. Hows little Max doing?

Unfortunately it did hurt more so stopped doing them. Last night however I took mt stronger pain killer a little earlier than usual and wasnt as painful as its been. Still bloody hurt but wasnt in tears so think will stick with that.

Imx0 love hiccups. Atm hes kicking very high up in my ribs. Dont mind atm as long as I can feel him moving

Embrace try and get a little done at a time
Rather than panic about it all. Ive done lots but still have lots to do!

Im 28 weeks this week so offically in the 3rd trimester!

Post natal bleeding is also worrying me as I have big PPHs at delivery and with my middle one ended up with an infection too so was losing very big clots (size of palm)
With youngest did loose some clots. Remember one day I couldnt wee all day then later on in the night passed a big clot and then could wee.
Dont want to scare anyone. Apparently its all normal etc I was never told. If you start passing lots of clots, black blood, pain etc then get checked out.

Ive been having some tightenings again
Glad im seeing the consultant this week

WreckItRach · 11/06/2018 11:27

@LostMyBaubles he's fine now, we had a very long night trying to settle him back at home though. I think he prefers the hard mattress of the hospital to our soft one and hates that it's quieter! I hope the pain in your ribs go, baby is obviously comfy!
Yeah women should be prewarned about the clots. I lost a big one at hospital then the next day at home lost another big one that freaked me out. Also some days I get lighter then a bit heavier again.

lmx0 · 11/06/2018 11:40

@WreckItRach im sure your glad to be home and thats good that they found the infection and hopefully your on the road to recovery feeling a bit better now thanks
I never knew that the clots could be that big!!! I knew to expect some clotting but nothing like that!! Thanks for the heads up i would have freaked anything i need to be aware of??

LostMyBaubles · 11/06/2018 12:12

While in labour do try small sips of water.
Keeps you hydrated and first wee less painful

Rest and lots of rest. And water lol

Embracethechaos · 11/06/2018 12:48

The teacher talked about clots in our last class. She said if they are bigger than sort of coin sized or your worried about it to let your midwife know. It's definitely not something my mum talks about, periods were an awkward enough, she just packed me a sanatry bag in my school rucksack and said you might need this soon. Blush I'm going to try to be more open with my daughter. I've not felt hiccups for weeks now, they were the first definite movements as I've got an anterior placenta other movements I couldn't really feel. Now I feel little hands and feet moving and 'I think' the bum pushing upwards. She seems to be pushing towards my cervix a lot, sometimes I think she might be engaging but then her weight is back up at my ribs. She's not engaged. I have a high bump, have the most frequent discomfort outside my ribcage.

lmx0 · 11/06/2018 13:57

@LostMyBaubles good advice!!!
@Embracethechaos apparently babies like to play with your body and will come in and out of being engaged so I've read anyways

mustbemad17 · 11/06/2018 14:08

Glad you're home wreckit hope things settle for you...ungrateful babies preferring harder beds!!! Go with the noise thing tho, it's a godsend in this house that DD can sleep through anything!!

I passed some pretty horrific clots after DD, one was honestly the size of a small orange! I was hysterical but the MW wasn't at all phased. I know what to expect this time haha.

I swear some people haven't seen a baby bump before. Mum & i went shopping & so many people were staring at my tummy like it might detonate. Mum thinks its because of how big & low he is...which i'm of course pleased with as its a good sign BUT i hate people staring!! I've finally had my show so watch this space knowing my luck 'this space' will continue for another week haha

WreckItRach · 11/06/2018 15:39

@mustbemad17 they both seem like really positive signs so I absolutely have my fingers crossed for you! 🤞

Embracethechaos · 11/06/2018 16:15

Is anyone doing anything for their partners on fathers day? Our parents don't really celebrate it but I thought It would be nice to maybe get my dh a card and token present, allthough that might be a bit chessy, might cook him a meal or suggest he has his friends over. Yesterday we talked about fathers day and he said something I thought was really sad, about his dad not appreciating the only fathers day card he drew him in reception and since then hasn't ever got him anything. I know they celebrate mother's day but not fathers day in his family. We celebrate both, but not massively, just a card and maybe meal together if we're not busy.

LostMyBaubles · 11/06/2018 16:20

Embrace ive been looking online for dh.
Ive bought things like personalised mugs, canvas, pic phone case etc in the past now dont have a clue what to get him

I think its a lovely idea to celebrate both
