Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

@mustbemad17 good luck for tomorrow! I will definitely have my fingers crossed for you!

Well I'm back in the hospital, readmitted yesterday with either, trapped air in my abdomen from surgery or a possible pulmonary embolism. I am in really bad pain, I can't breathe properly and I'm really scared. They told me possible pulmonary embolism, sent me for a chest X-ray this morning and since then not one doctor had come round to speak to me about things, despite the fact that 3 midwives have asked for the doctor for me.

KTD27 · 08/06/2018 06:55

wreckit oh no. Hope you see someone soon!

SK166 · 08/06/2018 08:24

@NooNoo - congratulations!! He’s a perfect little peach! Well done you. Hope you’re healing well.

@mustbemad - fingers crossed for you today. Let’s hope the sweep gets things rolling!

@wreckit - that’s awful, I’m so sorry you’re in pain. So scary as well. Try to stay calm - you’re in the best place you could be right now and they’ll take care of you. It’s almost certainly the trapped air and not an embolism. Sending positive vibes. Keep us posted.

I’d been hoping for a lie in today as work has really taken it out of me this week, but our pup has been poorly since last night so no luck for me! Up early with him, poor little guy. Now need to go to the supermarket because the cupboards are bare and he needs to be on bland human food all day. Whoever said you got to rest a lot in late pregnancy?!

lmx0 · 08/06/2018 10:58

@mustbemad17 fingers crossed for you that the sweep works its magic on you! 🤞🏻
@WreckItRach you poor thing how scary but you are in the best place and hopefully a doc will be Round too see you soon
@SK166 aww poor pup hope hes ok and rest? Thats overrated!! 😂

mustbemad17 · 08/06/2018 14:47

How are you doing wreckit? Hope you have been seen by now!

I had my sweep, only 2cm dilated but soft cervix so there's hope, & little man is way down. Had some niggles since but trying not to get my hopes because of all the disappointment after niggles last week 🙈🙈

Hi, it's been a while since I've been on here as I've been busy, moved house and started nct. Got to just have a little winge as my dh said he is coming to all apps from now on then forgot to book this morning off work for a hospital obs appointment we had booked a while back. Possibly partly my fault as I only reminded him last night. I got given an extra scan for reasurence as my measurements don't follow the curve. Just stressing as babys tummy is growing quickly (same speed as femur but head is spot on average). Doctor said if it was a tiny bit bigger they'd do a glucose test... I'm now worrying about g diabetes as my medication I'm on is a risk factor (but my only risk factor). I think I need to just stop eating so much sugar...After my appointment I needed a coffee before I drove home so got it with a macdonalds meal deal... Not exactly healthy, but there was salad in my burger. It just is annoying me that my dh says I should think positively when I think practically and want to prepare and come up with back up plans... I talked through a birth plan with the midwife and she's going to request me a side room due to my mental health which I'm really pleased about but I'm worried how my dh is going to cope if I need a hospital stay after birth as he wants to stay with me all the time, including night time but I don't think that would be helpful, he needs to look after himself, I'd have loads of support...we just said this over texts on his lunch break but have both been too tired this week to really spend quality time together. I've hit the 35 week mark now so not long to go. I can tell the baby had strong legs as it can kick hard.

Real winge is any risks discussed today were more my health issue than babys health issue and I wish my dh was there as it was a more important appointment than others.

MamamamaT · 08/06/2018 19:28

Gosh @wreckitrach how horrible, as everyone says though you are in the best place. Please let us know as soon as you have any updates x

GottaBeStrong · 08/06/2018 20:10

@NooNooHead congratulations! He is really cute. I'm sorry the op was stressful for you. I hope your recovery is smooth.

GottaBeStrong · 08/06/2018 20:15

@WreckItRach how are you now? I hope it turns out to be the gas. I know how painful that is.

GottaBeStrong · 08/06/2018 20:16

@SK166 aww poor pup. What type of dog do you have? Is it an older puppy or younger? I hope the bland diet get a things back under control.

lmx0 · 08/06/2018 20:18

Anyone else really loving swollen feet?! NOT!! I dont know its pregnancy the heat or both!! Any tips ladies?

SK166 · 08/06/2018 21:52

@GottaBeStrong - he's a 9 month old labrador and is usually a bundle of energy, but after me being fairly blase about it this morning, he actually took a turn for the worse and we ended up at the vets. Poor thing has a stomach virus so we've now got him on 3 different meds as well as prescription food for a couple of days to hopefully get him back on track. Cancelled all plans and just stayed with him all day - he's had me worried sick! Vet has given him 48 hours to show improvement or it's into hospital he goes. Poor little thing. Not what we all need right now!

@lmx0 - isn't it awful? And my fingers are like sausages! Does it go away afterwards?? I had to stop wearing my wedding rings a couple of weeks ago and I'm so paranoid I'll never get my nice slim fingers back!

lmx0 · 08/06/2018 22:21

@SK166 awww the poor wee man doggies can be like babies cant they hopefully the gets better and a stay in doggies hospital wont be needed
Apparently yes after delivery all the swelling should go down pretty quickly (we all hope!) its just my feet atm and its not that much but id dread to see what size they will be come due date!! I havnt needed to take mine off yet however they are a little tighter than normal

WreckItRach · 09/06/2018 09:04

@GottaBeStrong just had an ultrasound scan on my legs and they didn't find a blood clot which is great news 😊

LostMyBaubles · 09/06/2018 10:37

Wreck what about the xray?
I had one of those scans on my leg with the youngest. She really dug in deep to see. I remember thinking ouch lol
Glad that test was normal

GottaBeStrong · 09/06/2018 14:07

@SK166 oh no, that's stressful. I hate it when my dog is unwell - makes me super anxious. It's crazy how we have both had poorly dogs so close to us giving birth... not what we need. I hope he doesn't need an in-patient stay!

GottaBeStrong · 09/06/2018 14:08

@WreckItRach that's good news. Are you feeling any better?

GottaBeStrong · 09/06/2018 14:14

I'm having a freak out. House not sorted. Mum coming tomorrow. Moody OH who picked a fight with me last night - he's at work today doing 11 hour shift but should be off tomorrow.

Then after that last night I realised my knickers were soaking wet - didn't smell like urine. Put pad on. No more leakage.... called triage this morning just to let them know said keep an eye on it and baby's movements over next 24 hours.

The diarhhea and loose stools continue. I have period type pains when I lie down but not really when I am upright.Confused Rib pain continues.

Just feeling overwhelmed and stressed out now and got myself super hot and sweaty earlier when flapping about everything.

Heading off to Asda to buy a mattress protector now.

mustbemad17 · 09/06/2018 14:31

GottaBeStrong sounds like me but the other way round. I'm twinging when upright but if i lay down it stops. Currently in town walking in the hope he drops & gets his ass moving!!!

I have my mum here now & the stress of the house has thankfully gone as she has just pitched in as she sees fit. I'm lucky in that she doesn't interfere just quietly plods about

GottaBeStrong · 09/06/2018 17:30

@mustbemad17 your mum sounds ace. So ridiculous about the twinging one way only.

I think I'll be better when I just give in. I felt better for getting out of the house. I got my mattress protector and another fitted sheet and have washed them and put them on the line. Next task when I can move my bulk is to tidy my desk up. I'm just setting myself mini tasks so I feel as if I am doing something useful.

mustbemad17 · 09/06/2018 17:51

She really is, we have been so lucky to have her down. Altho she's only here a week so little man needs to hoof it!!

Mini tasks is the best way. I've been doing things in steps; spend 5 minutes doing something, sit down with a drink. Five minute task, sit down with a drink. Everything takes an age but i find i don't ache so much!!! Except now...3 hours round town is not wise.

Tried to get another nursing bra today...to be told the three places that i got measured don't have anything to fit because my cup size is mahoosive 😱

KTD27 · 09/06/2018 18:12

mudtbemad I feel your pain. I’ve found one place online which stocks my giant nursing bra size. ONE! On the goddam internet!! It’s honestly a massive need unfulfilled in the market IMHO
I have the biggest swollen ankles and feet today. Am feeling thoroughly fed up, hips and back are aching and I’m not sleeping well at all. 5 more weeks of this and I’ll be at the hospital banging on my consultants door to arrange a section if this baby has not appeared.

SK166 · 09/06/2018 18:25

@wreckit - so glad the scan came back ok. Are you feeling any better? Are you coping ok with the hospital stay and looking after Max?

@GottaBeStrong - mini-tasks is so the way to go! I'm doing everything in bite-size chunks and just trying to accept that no matter how hard I try, I will still miss things and be underprepared and that's just how it will be, but we will cope. Is this your first? How far along are you?

@mustbemad - good on your mum! Even if he doesn't get here in time, at least you'll be in good shape for his arrival! I'm saving up my mum-time for when baby arrives and I just want to stay in bed/on sofa/in bath all day! Not that I've had a baby before, but I'm assuming that's what I'll want!

Puppy seems to be doing a bit better today. He's still a bit lethargic and tummy isn't quite right, but he skipped about the garden with DH for a while and has been up to some of his usual cheeky tricks so I'm feeling optimistic that with another day's worth of drugs and another good night's sleep he'll be more or less over it. For now he still wants a lot of cuddles which I'm secretly quite pleased about!

And in other news, we hit 37 weeks today! Feels like a huge milestone, and once I'm done with work at the end of next week I think I'll be ready for little one to make her appearance! Currently appealing to all the various deities that I don't go overdue!

mustbemad17 · 09/06/2018 18:35

KTD27 it's ridiculous isn't it?! Women have been getting pregnant for eons, pregnant women get big...come along people, put 2+2 together & use your brain!!

I'm not at all envious of you ladies still aiming for your DD, i am thoroughly fed up. Have got another sweep pre-emptively booked in for Thursday but hoping i don't need it. That will also open up the gateway for a discussion about induction the following week should i still be a fattie at which point i will be a hopeless wreck of fed up-ness

Glad pup is looking up! Cheeky traits are a good sign

Embracethechaos · 09/06/2018 20:15

I have the opposite boob problem, too small! I was hoping pregnancy would give be bigger boobs, i briefly went up to a b but now they are back down to the a cup, I have no cleavage, my boobs like my armpits, bought extenders for my old a bra but at 35 weeks the bs are loose and uncomfortable and my old a cups don't fit either, with space at the cleavage and they are popping out the sides. I have been using some reusable breast pads just so my bra is full. All the fat has gone from me to the baby, had a scan yesterday and it's got a big belly, doctor said it doesn't matter if the baby is born fat, had the scan as my measurements showed slow growth, slightly bigger ac measurement and I'd have a glucose test. I sometimes worry that my small boobs won't be good for breastfeeding but I know it doesn't work like that and my mum is a simular build and found breastfeeding easy. Im struggling to eat healthily, I'm craving and eating fatty sugary foods and snacks rather than proper meals. On the one hand, when I'm not overweight and have good blood pressure seems reasonable, on the other hand I know I could still develop g diabetes and I don't want my baby to only like unhealthy foods. Allthough unsweetened almond milk is my go to snack.
