Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

@lmx0 it's still coming and going. I'll get cramps for a few minutes then it passes. Hopefully it means I've only got a week or two until labour and I won't go over 🤞🤞

lmx0 · 22/05/2018 12:38

@WreckItRach are the cramps regular? Sounds like it could be something.....

LostMyBaubles · 22/05/2018 14:00

Readyset congrats! Hope you are both ok

Embrace i start with 0-3 months as my babies are big. Maybe a few newborn and 0-3 months?

Wreck hope it does mean you're not going over!

Went to see local mw today. She said I need to go hosp if I get any more pains and i have but not as bad as friday.
Keepimg eye on pain. If anything changes will go up

Embracethechaos · 22/05/2018 14:27

Thanks lost...I got lucky, I picked up a free "unisex newborn bundle" off facebook a while back, was expecting just a handful of clothes, tured out to be 3 full carrieir bags of mostly vests and sleepsuits from tiny baby, newborn and up to 6 months. I counted over 50!

LostMyBaubles · 22/05/2018 14:43

Thats fantastic!!!
Ive got lots and lots of clothes so no need to buy apart from for a special occasion or something

Embracethechaos · 22/05/2018 14:48

I have to really resist buying baby clothes as I know they are a popular present item because they are just so dam cute. Grin

Embracethechaos · 22/05/2018 14:50

Must focus on practical nappy changing items...and laundary...

LostMyBaubles · 22/05/2018 15:36

Defo a good plastic changing mat. Makes it easier to clean up.
Keep it somewhere warm so maybe under a blanket or something so its not cold when its needed

lmx0 · 22/05/2018 15:43

@LostMyBaubles did she say what they could be? Deffo do go if they get any worse
@Embracethechaos wow that was a great find!! Ive mostly 0-3 but i have a couple of newborn vests n baby grows for the hospital bag and its so hard not to buy!!! I think alot of people buy bigger sizes for babies as you never know what weight the baby will be or what the parents already have
Im feeling good today!! Apart from sore back but i had the worst nosebleed this morning!! Thought it was never going to end and I was going to end up in a&e (thankfully i didnt!)!

LostMyBaubles · 22/05/2018 16:21

Mw didnt know but was very worry id been sat there over an hour when I should have been at the hosp.

Tmi
I dunno if im weeing myself a little or sweat or something else.
Since yesterday I've felt like ive been weeing myself a little. So ive noticed it after ive been sat down for a while and then got back up. I had just sat down and felt it bubble a little.
There's tiny bit of something in undies but the rest of my undies feel a lil damp due to sweat Blush im boiling lol.

Gonna pop a pad on. Had a few BH and a few proper strong ones.
I feel theres no point to go hosp unless I have to as childcare is a pita atm

LostMyBaubles · 22/05/2018 16:22

Imx0 ohhh noo!! How did you get it to stop??
I had 1 a few weeks back and really scared me as ive never had 1 before! And im on blood thinning injections so thought id hve to go a+e

lmx0 · 22/05/2018 17:33

I had to sit for about 20 mins pinching the top of my nose and hope for the best!! They are a real nuisance i got them loads in 2nd trim n had a few weeks break but they seem to be back again
@LostMyBaubles could be discharge and sweat?

LostMyBaubles · 22/05/2018 18:11

Is that the best way to stop them??
Hubby said pour cold water on your head.
I didn't lol

Im hoping it is.
Really don't want to rush off to the hosp. Next few days are very busy here so unless I get a big gush, more pain, bleeding or reduced movements I will try and wait it out.
Im at the hosp next week for gtt so might try and get checked then

LostMyBaubles · 22/05/2018 18:11
  • if i havent done before hand and if still needed
Embracethechaos · 22/05/2018 19:17

I had nosebleeds when I was younger, fortunately none in pregnancy, I found the pinching the bridge of your nose works best but they can just take ages to stop, then you blow your nose a few hours later and they start again. And reduce your blood pressure... I'm sure having a bucket of water thrown over you didn't help with blood pressure lol. Just annoying really. I have had bad headaches which I used to get when I was younger with the nosebleeds.. I've just bought relaxing gell mask you can store in the freezer. That may help, or even a cold flannel or frozen peas in a teatowel next time. Simular idea but nice that the cold water. 😊

Embracethechaos · 22/05/2018 19:18

*nicer than

lmx0 · 22/05/2018 19:52

@LostMyBaubles yeah thats what is recommended for them i don't like the cold water idea!! Hopefully you've no need to go gtt isnt that bad just alot of waiting around
@Embracethechaos i used to get them when I was younger too!! Thankfully not as much until preg thats a good idea thanks 😊

WreckItRach · 22/05/2018 21:07

@lmx0 I have still been getting the cramps throughout the day but they aren't regular at the minute. Also (tmi) I have had to go to the toilet more than normal for the last two days so hopefully I'm moving in the right direction!
I get bad nose bleeds too, they are so annoying. I don't think the heat helps atm either. Hopefully the cold would work for you!!

@LostMyBaubles that sounds like what I was worried about a few weeks ago and mine was sweat and discharge. I find the sweating down there quite embarrassing, why does it get so hot?!
Deffo keep an eye on it though!

GottaBeStrong · 22/05/2018 21:08

@lmx0 I'm a bit of both. Mainly excited but also a bit apprehensive as I'm a FTM. I reckon I'll be nervous on the day but I'm going to try to do some work beforehand to calm myself - maybe visualisations or something.

GottaBeStrong · 22/05/2018 21:49

I'm sweaty betty too. I have taken to sweating badly between my boobs when I'm more active. I guess because it's so hot. I've been stuffing some toilet paper in my cleavage (so sexy!).

Anyway I have news... my parents came over for the day. They live far away so when they cane to visit their holiday boat they came to see us as the journey is 2 hours each way. So upshot is - my dad helped my OH (who had a day off) to switch the rooms over while mum and I went to get last few hospital bits. I got button down nighties x 2, a few big knickers, 2 nursing bras, nipple cream, maternity pads, waterwipes, big cotton wool pads, and flip flops. I can pack my bags now.

After that and a quick cup of tea, mum and I went to my midwife appointment. Mum got to listen to the heartbeat so that was nice. She was also able to find out a bit about the c section.

I can't believe the rooms are switched! I nearly passed out with joy when I got back haha. OH is still sorting things out but already it is like night and day for me. The moses basket can be put up at some point and pram assembled. I won't bother yet as I think they'll just sit gathering dust.

I feel so much relief and hopefully as the room is bigger and faces north-west it won't be so hot at night or first thing in the morning. The heat was making it so hard to sleep at night even with the fan on.

lmx0 · 22/05/2018 23:29

@WreckItRach hopefully its the really early stages ive my 🤞🏻 for you!!
@GottaBeStrong im a FTM too!! Im sure you are!! Yeah it may help no harm in trying how nice is that im sure u enjoyed the day with your mum and im sure u feel more organised and yay!!!! Hopefully the move will help you sleep

WreckItRach · 23/05/2018 07:31

@GottaBeStrong that sounds so lovely that things are getting sorted and your mum got to hear the heartbeat!

Thanks @lmx0

WreckItRach · 23/05/2018 17:20

I have been exhausted today for some reason, been a real lazy couch potato. I was woken up by a phone call from the docs to say that I have got thrush (yay 🙄). I'm gutted because I think it means my mucus plug has not been coming out gradually now, it might have been that (gross).

lmx0 · 23/05/2018 17:51

@WreckItRach awww no way!!! Hows your cramps? A lazy day will do you no harm!!!

WreckItRach · 23/05/2018 18:05

@lmx0 they were really bad when I went for a walk this morning, since I came back though it's just been a bit of back ache and that's it really. How are you?
