Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

@Embracethechaos i find drinking pure fruit juice (orange is good) helps with any constipation

Embracethechaos · 19/05/2018 04:34

Thanks, I used to drink more pure fruit juice but water it down now, (acid reflux and I just find it more refreshing) I've got prunes and my iron tablets help (I was on too high dose for a few days and it cleared my system) I have my iron with friit juice so that's probably helping. Really staying higjdrayed normally does the trick.

@LostMyBaubles how are you doing this morning? X

readysetcake · 19/05/2018 07:38

Gosh hope you’re feeling better @lostmybaubles. It’s scary when these things happen. Definitely go back if you’re not happy.
I went in with regular tightenings at 30 weeks that were very painful. Lasted about 24 hours then went. I’ve had horrible BH since 20 weeks. Whoever said BH don’t hurt is a liar!

@embracethechoas I’m terrible about remembering to drink enough water. At least there is a small positive to your medication. Though I’m sure you’d much rather be without the dry mouth! I used to be on anti Ds years ago that did the same to me. Drove me mad a bit.

Constipation has swing the other way for me since 36 weeks and it’s quite loose and cramps every time I go Blush read it can be baby pressing in bowels. Think I’ve got a right old chunk in there.

LostMyBaubles · 19/05/2018 10:59

Thank you all
Ive got background pain atm but low-level so can cope with it

Similar happened with my youngest but I was 32 weeks and they popped me on a trace and saw all the contractions, kept me in for steriods and was sent to delivery twice!
Turned out I had UTI which hadn't been treated which set off contractions.
Didnt show on dipstick but did from labs.
Once treated contractions stopped.

I should have asked to be put on trace but assumed it was too early etc

Lactulose is safe to use during pregnancy. Can be bought otc for those suffering with constipation

How is everyone today?? Looks like its going to be a lovely day ladies. Nice and sunny.

GottaBeStrong · 19/05/2018 12:54

I think I will start washing baby's clothes or bedding/towels today as it's nice weather. I managed to go back to bed after waking and sleep some more so I'm pleased about that as I'm very behind on sleep.

LostMyBaubles · 19/05/2018 13:57

Gotta how many weeks are you?
Ive got all the baby clothes washed now and have bedding in the wash now.
I know its a little early but its done and out of the way.
All that needs doing next is a lick of paint in the nursery and cot mattress protector needs a wash and the cot needs a good scrub

lmx0 · 19/05/2018 17:09

@LostMyBaubles glad its calmed down for you ive some baby stuff and hospital stuffed washed too trying to make the most of any sunshine we get!! Im feeling a little off today but just cant put my finger on what it is though

LostMyBaubles · 19/05/2018 18:56

Imx0 hope you are ok. Take it easy. You might need some rest

When I had a wee before it really hurt all over bump then had a few strong tightenings thankfully they have gone now.
They did test urine but said 'not much there' and that was it.

GottaBeStrong · 19/05/2018 19:17

@LostMyBaubles

I'm 35+5. I am washing bedding and hooded towels. Will do clothes tomorrow I guess.

You sound very organised! We are not doing a nursery as we are in rented and baby will be in with us for at least the first year. I will be glad when my OH has switched the rooms over though as we are in the smaller bedroom so haven't set up moses basket etc.

He made mutterings about doing it tomorrow evening when he gets back - think it might have dawned on him that she might come early or whatever. His other plan was to wait until a few days before my potential c section date so will have to see what he does lol.

GottaBeStrong · 19/05/2018 19:21

I was having quite strong bump discomfort/pains earlier - I was walking and could hardly move faster than a snail. I think they must have been tightenings that felt a bit weird because I was moving rather than static as they suddenly disappeared.

readysetcake · 19/05/2018 19:23

It’s lovely and exciting to wash all the baby things! Smile finished all my prep over the bank holiday so just twiddling thumbs now.

Hope you feel better soon @lmx0. Take it easy Flowers

I’m due. I day and been having such intense BH and lower back pain I’ve been hoping they would progress to real contractions, but nothing. Also very painfully hips from SPD I can hardly walk. Been very ready and frustrated today Sad

mustbemad17 · 19/05/2018 19:30

Seeing baby stuff on the line drying is such a lush feeling. I keep feeling i've forgotten something tho, which is driving me nuts. Realistically we just have to hoover the car out so the car seat can be plumbed in, but my brain is taunting me.

Embracethechaos · 19/05/2018 19:41

I'm doing great today. Maybe overdid it slightly as I was up early, walked a lot, had too much sugar in the morning, then got lots of housework done with the wedding on in the background. I was feeling restless and whenever I sat or lay I got indigestion. Had a healthy lunch. Wanted to wash the baby clothes but it's still early and I want to do it in the new house. It's got a better washing michine they are selling with the house so I can't wait to use it. Lol. Never been into washing machines before. I washed the dogs bedding and we washed the dog instead. We don't wash him often as he keeps himself clean. I was expecting him to soak us but he kindly ran to the other side of the garden before shaking. Then I spent the rest of the evening relaxing in the garden. The early waking and restless was a real problem in the second trimester before meds and I pulled a thigh muscle which niggled swimming and was a bit crampy today (along with one of my little toes which normally only plays up at night.) I listened to my body through and stopped and did some stretching when the pain started. I was into running a while back, but not fit enough to continue when I got pregnant, but I still walk a lot. I did learn some good leg stretches though, just do them when I have pain rather than regularly. Thanks for the constipation medication tip, im OK for now but I'll mention it when I see the doctor next week, might get some on prescription. My planned afternoon nap didn't happen.. I've done shift work and don't get jet lagged so I'm an experienced napper so I'm surprised at my inability to nap now. Generally feeling well, though nervous of my first nct meeting tomorrow and everything else. I've known for a couple of months that the end of May is all go.

Readysetbake I was releluctant to take anti-psychotics as I've been on antidepressants and anti-psychotics in the past and allways feel better off them. It's important I stay on them in the postnatal period but I didn't like that they are supposed to be long term, be good to talk to the consultant for the first time next week about time scale. I'm thinking I'd like to reassess a few months after birth. However I am finding this medication is far better for me than other medication and I've not not been on this dose that long the side effects are easing now.

@lostmybaubles, I've had a uti before pregnancy, then a synptomless uti in the first trimester so I am obsessing a bit over hydration. Without the dry mouth I often don't realise I'm thirsty until I get other symptoms.

LostMyBaubles · 19/05/2018 20:09

Embrace glad the meds are suiting you better this time round

I have a general rule of thump for me, when evee in the kitchen have a big glass of water plus water with meals etc.
I have kidney probs and every drop counts flushing out horrible nasty germs.

Last uti I had was beginning of pregnancy so done very well to get to 24 weeks and have none inbetween as I do get them a lot
under hosp for them and due more investigations once ive had baby

GottaBeStrong · 19/05/2018 21:47

I'm trying to drink more too. I make a big jug of water with an electrolyte tab in it and put it in the fridge and keep drinking that.

@readysetcake do you have one of those gym/birthing balls? I heard bouncing and rolling the hips around on one of those can help.

readysetcake · 19/05/2018 22:02

Been on my birth ball most of the day @gottabestrong, but not really helping with the pain which is mostly in my lower back. Baby just in it’s most active period of the day and feels like it’s trying to kick It’s way out of my stomach. Worried it’s turned back to back hence the back pain.

pumpkinmamma · 19/05/2018 22:11

I’ve got a few pages to catch up on but I hope everyone is well- baby pumpkin was born Thursday night (41+2) and is currently snoozing Smile like a little legend! Ended up being induced on the drip after my waters went at 5am on Wednesday with no contractions, so not the water birth I had hoped for but feeling very proud of myself anyway!

lmx0 · 19/05/2018 23:41

Congrats and you have every right to be proud!! @pumpkinmamma how are you? 💙 or 💖?

Think I’m in labour guys. 3cm and quite painful contractions, but they’re a bit irregular. Fingers crossed!
