Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

Goodness @lostmybaubles, sounds epic! What are you cooking? Or are you batch booking for freezing?

LostMyBaubles · 17/05/2018 22:31

Fasting has started and made lots of small dishes mainly starters for hubby.

Before we got married he was spoilt by his mum . Hes not seen her for a few years.
Thought it would be nice surprise for him.

It also doubles up to feed him to close fast in the early hours

readysetcake · 18/05/2018 06:38

Ah I see! You’re very good to your DH Smile How do find the fasting in pregnancy if you don’t mind me asking?

readysetcake · 18/05/2018 06:38

*how do you find

LostMyBaubles · 18/05/2018 07:56

We don't have to fast 😁
So pregnant ladies, breastfeeding mums and those on periods dont have to fast plus
Anyone with health conditions that makes it dangerous for them to fast plus anyone travelling dont have to fast as far as im aware

Embracethechaos · 18/05/2018 08:53

Thanks so much to whoever recommended bra extenders. My cup size hasn't changed much just my chest measurement. They arrived yesterday and I can wear my bras again comtmftably. You saved me a lot of time, hassle and money. Nursing bra can wait a couple of weeks (I'm 32 weeks)

readysetcake · 18/05/2018 09:00

Phew @lostmybaubles! I thought that was probably the case but didn’t want to assume Smile

Ooo glad the extenders are working well for you embrace. Definitely going to save you hassle and money in new bras that won’t last long. Wish I’d know about them!

Hope everyone has a comfortable enjoyable day in the sunshine Smile

LostMyBaubles · 18/05/2018 09:46

Bra extenders are available on Ebay. Got some a few weeks back

Ive not bothered with maternity or nursing bras atm. I did buy some non wired ones so will see if they do the trick

lmx0 · 18/05/2018 10:13

@LostMyBaubles your very good to your DH how long does fasting last? Oh thats good i couldn't manage fasting esp while preg
@WreckItRach ive been bought a prep machine too they ate fab!! My friend had one and was so easy and quick!!

lmx0 · 18/05/2018 10:14

@LostMyBaubles i found non wired bras done the same job as maternity and were a little cheaper!!

mustbemad17 · 18/05/2018 10:19

The idea of fasting right now makes me want to cry 😣 glad pregnant women don't have to, sounds like hell when you're growing a small person!

I have just had to collect a weepy DD from school again bless her so my plans for the day are scuppered. Have hit my official 37 week mark whoop whoop so will be invoking all old wives' tales as of now 😂

mustbemad17 · 18/05/2018 11:04

I have a really random question, hoping someone might know! DD has conjunctivitis - she has eye drops but she is struggling. I know breastmilk is used when babies have gammy eyes, is colostrum along the same lines??? I'm hand expressing some atm at MW suggestion, just wondering if it would be worth giving DD's eyes a wipe before i do eye drops 🤔

Embracethechaos · 18/05/2018 11:09

It happened. I just peed my pants. It came out with a fart. Blush Just after I'd packed up some underwear, better unpack it as I may be needing more than 1.5 a day I'd left out. And get back to my pelvic floor excersises.

Embracethechaos · 18/05/2018 11:16

Also my husband is back in my good books after buying me chocolate and generally being nice. I had a go at him for buying be chocolate last time round Easter when I was getting lots of migraines and very stressed about not being able to binge on chocolate and the possibility of my allergy returning and arguing with my sister about self control and chocolate... Angry she has actual proper allergies and a weight issue and has been working hard on dieting with little result. I'm used to eating whatever with no concequeces. But I was thinking I don't smoke or drink so doing pretty well.

LostMyBaubles · 18/05/2018 18:59

Just home from the hosp

Been getting contractions since 11am
Some are pretty random and then for hours they are every few mins apart. Very painful but sent home on pain relief ConfusedHmm

lmx0 · 18/05/2018 19:53

@LostMyBaubles how many weeks are you? What did the mw say?
@mustbemad17 let project get baby out start!! Ive no idea but couldnt hurt!!

LostMyBaubles · 18/05/2018 20:00

24+1 today
Didnt say much apart from we dont know what it is so here's some pain killers
Saw the dr there too.
The fibronectin was neg but ive heard you can get false readings too?

The tightenings have settled a little but my back is really hurtinf like im on my periods.

Feel a bit fobbed off tbh as they saw and felt the tightenings but didnt put me on tracer just a quick doppler instead.

Will pop back as many times needs be if things dont settle or get worse.

Embracethechaos · 18/05/2018 20:25

@lostmybaubles - braxton hicks? I'm lucky I've not had any, or I don't think I have. I got various cramps and pains around that time but bought a pregnancy ball and did some yoga, it really helped. Would probably stress you out to keep going back, do you have a direct line to call your midwife, consoltant, Labour ward or birth centre? I got severe headaches/migraines in the second trimester and went through a stage of calling all the healthcare professionals, including gp. They just gave me reassure as it was anxiety more than anything. Now I'm on quetiapine now. It really helps me with sleep and anxiety but I tried every natural remedy first. The midwifes told me lots of pregnant women are on a low dose.

Embracethechaos · 18/05/2018 20:27

Every safe natural remedy that is.. So not much.. I really wanted ibuprofen.

lmx0 · 18/05/2018 21:22

@LostMyBaubles how scary for you!! 100% go back as and when needs be!! But tightenings? Could be BH? I dont know what they feel like i dont think ive had them?...

LostMyBaubles · 18/05/2018 21:36

Ive had bh and they are very uncomfy but generally don't hurt plus witj the added period back pains etc
These tightenings are that strong I can feel them in my chest, stomach, back. Feel like i can't wee properly (another symptom of mine due to pressure of baby coming dowm)
Also with each big tightening it feels like my body is pushing/ bearing down and feel like I need to poo Blush

Won't be goimg each time unless they get worse in Pain, more regular or somethimg new like bleed etc

They did say bh tend to be the odd one here or there not so often throughout the day like ive been having.

Ahh well. Time will tell

WreckItRach · 18/05/2018 22:06

Gosh @LostMyBaubles that sounds a bit scary! Hopefully they are just bad BH and calm down soon and things go back to normal. Definitely phone up the labour ward if they start to increase or you are concerned though.
Hopefully things feel normal again tomorrow, keep us updated xxx

lmx0 · 18/05/2018 22:11

@LostMyBaubles ohh goodness that sounds awful hopefully things ease for you very soon have you tried a warm bath see if that helps settle things a bit? Deffo keep us updated Thanks

mustbemad17 · 18/05/2018 22:24

LostMyBaubles sounds similar to what i had a few weeks back. Honest to god i felt like i was in labour, the pain started & progressed exactly like my labour with my DD. I got told 'muscular & skeletal pain' & was given dihydrocodeine for a few days. I spent four days basically hibernating because the drugs knocked me out!!

Embracethechaos · 18/05/2018 22:26

@lostmybaubles Sounds very scary, hope it passes soon, I only get localised cramps. I've been a bit constipated and gassy recently and one time when I was pooing I could feel the baby kicking, like it wanted to get out too. I need to remember to drink enough water, esspesally now the weather is warming up. I no longer get a dry mouth which was an initial medicine side effect which had the benifit of reminding me to drink regularly.
