Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

Oh @pumpkinmama you poor thing. The waiting is just excruciating isn’t it. You’re DH sounds lovely 😊 hope the baby gets shifting before Sunday. Long walks and sex can’t hurt. I’m thinking of having sex even though it really is the last thing I fancy when I feel so huge and uncomfortable and unsexy. But it’s one of the k let things with a shred of evidence that it might work.

@lmx0 thank goodness you noticed! You did make me giggle. I waited 40 minutes for a prescription in boots for DD one weekend. Went to buy a drink and then just went home! No prescription 🤦🏻‍♀️

readysetcake · 15/05/2018 12:54

*one of the only things

Paie · 15/05/2018 12:56

@lmx0
Mine is Friday so i'm hoping not! Have noticed most of my baby brain oopsies tend to occur around the fridge....

My fav smelling place atm is the laundry detergent isle....mmmmmm

Baby brain is sucky! At least it was only a few pence...i once filled DPs nice diesel car up with petrol & drove it 🙈 he had to spend the day draining it & changing all sorts. I didn't even have baby brain to fall back on...

Ah pumpkin hope the squatter shifts soon, i hate being over. I had 2 sweeps with my last & neither worked...think it was the four hour hike round the zoo that did the trick but i was 8 days over! I wanted a sweep dead on 37 weeks this time & nobody will play ball. So mean 😭

I'm feeling sorry for myself now, baby has moved down & is hurting...shifting the furniture around probably hasn't helped & may get me in trouble with DP when he comes home 🤔

mustbemad17 · 15/05/2018 13:01

readysetcake i have told DP that come Friday he is on eviction duty (37 week point); i really don't fancy sex at all & have been keeping him occupied in other ways but as you say, the data is there. I need his swimmers to finish the job they damn well started 9 months ago 😂😂

lmx0 · 15/05/2018 13:19

@readysetcake you have to laugh at these things otherwise you'd cry
@Paie ohhh thats a lovely smell too!!
@mustbemad17 ohh no way on the way to pay i rang DH and told him thankfully he was really nice about it (in fact I'm lucky i didn't burst out crying in the shop!) your lucky you didn't hurt yourself and if yours is anything like mine he will go nuts!! I had a good giggle i need his swimmers to finish the job they started 9 months ago!! I can so imagine me saying this to my DH!!

mustbemad17 · 15/05/2018 13:26

My DP was great about it, i had a good cry because my car was knackered & now i'd broke his too 🙈 he took it in his stride bless him.
Yeah i'm gunna get told off for sure haha but at least it's another job done!
I told DP yesterday he better rest up for the rest of the week cos he had a job to finish...he just looked bemused haha. His theory is little man will come when he's ready...i mean, it's easy for them to say these things when they aren't doing the hard graft isn't it!!

readysetcake · 15/05/2018 13:37

Urgh I hate that phrase @mustbemad17. It may be true but I don’t need to be told by everyone NOT carrying a baby thank you very much. What gets me is female friends and relatives who have had children say it and they know must know how irritating it is! I promise never to talk about bump sizes uninvited, or baby’s being done when they’re ready, to a pregnant woman ever!

mustbemad17 · 15/05/2018 13:45

Yeah it does make me a little fisty haha. Me & DP had a joke when i was first pregnant that i was allowed one 'kill' in the nine months without getting into trouble i have been stupidly hormonal and so far nobody has died. I have warned him he could still make the list 😂 he tells me i am lucky i haven't had kidney stones...if he mentions them when i am in labour i will drown him in the birthing pool 😈

lmx0 · 15/05/2018 16:14

@mustbemad17 kidney stones? He for real? You would have every right to drown him!! 😂

laurG · 15/05/2018 16:23

I am 32 weeks and it just seems like every week I’m presented with another minor annoyance! I shouldn’t complain too much as my pregnancy has been relatively straight forward. However, every week there’s something else. Last week it was hayfever, the week before constant breathlessness, the week before that it was thrush and before that constipation . Now today my hips/pelvis is killing me. Work up with throbbing pains around my pelvis/legs. Assume its pelvic girdle or sciatica. Is this all normal?

None of this is particularly serious but it is getting me down a bit. The above sort of rotates from day to day and I just feel like I’m getting a bit worn out. Constant waves of exhaustion aren’t helping!

Only 5 more weeks of work thank goodness.

mustbemad17 · 15/05/2018 16:29

Imx0 apparently according to some in the medical profession it is more painful! Still don't wanna be hearing about it when i'm trying to push a 20cm head out of a 10cm hole tho 😂

laurG the pain radiating up & down sounds like what i have, it's eased since i had accupuncture but still aches. According to physio it's all ligament related so SPD & also some sciatica maybe.

laurG · 15/05/2018 17:14

@mustbemad17

Thanks. I’m going to get it checked out st my next appointment. It’s only happened a few times. Think swimming aggravates it (which is irritating as it makes me feel so good).

Embracethechaos · 15/05/2018 19:57

I'm normally disorganised so I do Baby brain extrame. I've failed at using a tin opener only to realise I've got a ring pull upside down, I've lost keys, glasses, and lots of other things, I try to tidy bit end up making more mess, getting distracted by... I can't remember what....thinking. The dog picked up some food on his walk, I said leave it, he dropped it then I said 'good boy, go on then' his command for eat. He was so good he dropped it again after that...i write to do lists then hide them from myself under other paperwork... The list goes on. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes I just get fed up, give up and have a nap. As for the kitchen, who knows where I've put what. Normally I manage to get cold things in the fridge but cupboards. We are moving soon and packing has been so far unsuccessful. I get distracted by things I've not used or seen in ages.. Got 2 weeks to pack so thought I'd space it out....driving my husband crazy though, he's a bit OCD about tidyness... He's been drinking more recently now we're moving, be good to start nct next week as he is excited to be a dad and will be very hands on but there's just not enough stuff out there for expected dad's. I am annoyed he bought himself beer today though as he wouldn't even sit outside with me for dinner I'd cooked...I've told him to be less hard on himself with alcohol as he was t total and getting very stressed, and he doesn't get properly drunk but we agreed only at weekends...and I can't stand him saying he is tiered and I'm just being hormonal and allowed to be emotional. Was it this list joking about a kill list, he's been top of mine a few times, allthough rude strangers and colleagues have been up there too, only for a day or so though.. AngryGrin

lmx0 · 15/05/2018 21:51

@laurG ive felt like that too every week its something else!! Yes best to get it checked thats a pity about the swimming though
@mustbemad17 ill take their word for it!! And no you deffo do not!!!

GottaBeStrong · 15/05/2018 23:15

Ugh. I think I might be making the sweaty part of the title now as I've come out in heat rash in my groins and round me bits and a bit down my thigh and under my boobs!BlushConfused I feel really fat now even though I'm not as fat as I think/feel. Got the fan blasting as for some reason our upstairs is very stifling.

lmx0 · 15/05/2018 23:28

Poor you @GottaBeStrong i hate that ive noticed when im working my underwear bes damp with sweat to the point were i got a sore on the knicker line (sorry if tmi) and it was very painful would talc help help if dry and heal?

giraffelovesbaking · 15/05/2018 23:42

Hi all! New to the thread.

Im 27 +3, finding it all a bit tough! Ive been signed off work with SPD, its agrivated my joint hypermobility. Constant pain making everything difficult 🙈

Has anyone else been having shooting pains around the groin, lower back and across the stomach? Spent 6 hours at the hospital yesterday and was sent home with antibiotics and told it was a bladder infection. Doesn't feel like the bladder infection I had at the start!

Also has anyone got any tips for what to start shopping for, I feel so unprepared and dont know where to start. Bought a few baby grows and blankets, and a hooded towel. Just so confused about all the sizes and what I need immediately and what can wait. Cribs all sorted but its just the clothes mainly. Off to the baby show this weekend so hopefully get some more information!

Anyone struggling with their bras I really recommend getting yourself fitted at M&S, they know all about the different nonwired styles to give you the most comfort! Doesnt have to be maternity bras but it made a huge difference for me. The fitting is free so even if its just to check what size you should be wearing 😊

Embracethechaos · 16/05/2018 07:38

Hi giraffe, I got myself fitted in M&S in the first trimester. I got a 2 pack non maternity good fitting bra. She recommended I come back later in my pregnancy when I've grown to get a maternity and nursing bra... I need to do that now but whenever I go into town I never make it to M&S... Giraffe, I got most of my baby clothes off Facebook marketplace. Someone was giving away a free newborn bundle so I thought why not. It was 3 carrier bags full of good quality clothes! I counted 50 poppered underclothes (baby grows, vests etc) in a few sizes, tiny baby - 12 months. It's not got loads of outer clothes but I've decided friends and relatives will probably get them. It's definitely worth a look as people always overbuy. I've had parents tell me it's best to get just a few clothes and most of them after the baby is born and you know what size you need.

If you look back on this thread I put a link to a baby checklist on money advise service. It covers everything from where to buy/what retail clubs to join to savings accounts tax credits (something I'm struggling to get my head around and the law changes in October 2018 so we have to chose wheather it's worth claiming before or after.)

mustbemad17 · 16/05/2018 08:29

I got a non wired bra from JoJo Mama Bebe...it is the most comfortable thing i've ever worn.

As fo baby shopping, do not let anybody else get involved or you will end up with gazillions of one thing & not enough of another 🙈 this time we literally have basics; car seat, pram, baby bath, cot, moses basket & bouncer. Bedding, towels, blankets, bottles, muslins, dummies...clothes however i am inundated as every man & his dog has sent me clothed from newborn to 6-9 so far. I could honestly open a shop

WreckItRach · 16/05/2018 10:02

Is it acceptable to just lie on the sofa all morning eating your way through a multipack of crisps?
Struggling with positivity today.

Embracethechaos · 16/05/2018 10:40

haha, I'm sat on the computer on my second packet of go ahead bars so I'd say yes, thats what the third trimester is for, baby is laying on fat. :D. today is a rare day I have not been on the sofa, sitting upright is more comfortable, was on my feet for maybe an hour doing I small amount of housework and now I'm recovering. I'm trying to fight off a migraine without having to use paracetamol but computer and sugar is maybe not the best plan...It's been a while since I've had a migraine though....this crisps in the house are too healthy and gave me indigestion... I do have some ricecakes which I love...but I was bing good and chose the organic barley salted and they are a bit gross, all to fibrous I think.

CremeDeSudo · 16/05/2018 10:42

@giraffelovesbaking Have some sleeptsuits/vests in newborn size at the ready. When DS was born we thought he would just wear 0-3 stuff but his feet didn't even reach the legs! He was 7,8 so not even considered small! Having said that however, it's supposed to be hot this summer so don't go overboard. There was a heatwave when DS was born and he was basically just in vests/just a nappy for the first month!

They'll grow out of the newborn/first size stuff really quickly so keep it basic and minimal!

@WreckItRach Totally acceptable Grin

Embracethechaos · 16/05/2018 10:55

damit, I bought corn cakes, I got rye cakes to try the other day, didn't like them, why can't I go shopping and by simple, old fasioned rice cakes...they are probally hiding on the bottom shelf, now out of reach. It it acceptable to kick the things I want to buy on the bottom shelf of a supermarket? Hmm

mustbemad17 · 16/05/2018 11:15

I'm camped on the sofa with a huge bag of crisps, biscuits & chocolate & a bottle of squash. The weather is pants so i can't do washing..the house work can jump!
