Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

Can i tag along on this thread pretty please? 36+1 & totally fed up. Baby is 3/5 engaged & feels like he's trying to pop out the front of my pelvis like some perverse alien spoof 🙈 want him out now!!

lmx0 · 12/05/2018 19:21

They can be really rough when delivering them that way the thought of either really scares me so hopefully i wont need either
@mustbemad17 welcome & congrats you poor thing here hoping you go soon!!!

mustbemad17 · 12/05/2018 19:31

Thanks Imx0 😊

Love that i'm not the only one who watches OBEM...everyone thinks i'm nuts cos it's apparently 'off putting' 🤔

lmx0 · 12/05/2018 19:45

@mustbemad17 oh no i love it!! Ive been watching it for years!!

mustbemad17 · 12/05/2018 19:55

Me too! I love it. So many of my friends stop watching it when pregnant which baffles me! I'm on number 3, i know the deal...there is nothing they will show on there that can scare me any more 😂 i love some of the MWs on there they are fab

NooNooHead · 12/05/2018 22:57

I’m totally fed up now too... I’m 34w2d and am getting so impatient! I saw on Facebook that an ex had his first yesterday and I was (for some reason!) v envious... only because I still have 3 weeks left until my c-section (or possible induction!)

I’m a v impatient person at the best of times! Help me get some sense into my head and not feel so frustrated! 🤣🙄😖

Embracethechaos · 13/05/2018 06:09

Just got an email about my nct course starting next week! Feel like it's been a long time coming, can't wait.

mustbemad17 · 13/05/2018 10:23

NooNoo can't help there i'm afraid, i've been impatient since about 28 weeks 😂 this has been the worst pregnancy i've had & i am honestly so over it now. Just want the baby here & my stomach back 🙈

lmx0 · 13/05/2018 11:30

@mustbemad17 id be thrilled if my midwife was half as brilliant as them!!
@NooNooHead your time will come!! Hopefully it flys in for you is there anything you could do to pass some time?
@Embracethechaos ohhh getting so real now im sure!! When does yours start?

readysetcake · 13/05/2018 11:32

Same here @mustbemad17 I’m very impatient now and soooo ready for this to be over so no tips I’m afraid. I’m 39 weeks tomorrow and having mild cramps. Trying not to get excited that this is the start of something as I know I’ll be disappointed when I’m still with baby this time tomorrow!

I love OBEM too. I watched loads when pregnant with my first and didn’t find it off putting. I took all the drama with a pinch of salt due to editing and making an exciting programme. The only one I didn’t watch was when the baby passed away. I really felt for that woman with the forceps the other day, and I must say I fear forceps more than a c section (probably completely irrationally as an emergency c section is a major thing!). fingers crossed this baby behaves for me like it’s sister and comes out nicely (albeit painfully)!!

mustbemad17 · 13/05/2018 11:43

Imx0 i have to say I am really lucky with my midwives, i signed up to One to One so have a named midwife & her buddy...both are bloody awesome! If they both end up attending my birth i will be over the moon 😊

Eek readysetcake how exciting! I think i'm looking for signs tbh haha, which is daft because if he came now i'd have to go into hospital...i want my home water birth!!

GottaBeStrong · 13/05/2018 15:28

I am 34+5 and feeling impatient too.

I woke up this morning with a severe sore throat, cough and congested head, so been in bed all day feeling a tiny bit sorry for myself as coughing like this is exhausting and making the round ligament type pain really hurt.

It's silly that I am feeling impatient as there are still things to be done in the house to get ready for my mum coming to help and the baby as well as a few admin type tasks that I need to get done before I can't do them at all. I think a little bit of how I am feeling relates to wanting to know if I am 100% having a c-section or not. I will find out on the 21st.

lmx0 · 13/05/2018 19:23

@readysetcake you would have to take the drama with a pinch of salt otherwise you would never give birth!!! Heres hoping all our babies are good little boys & girls!!
@mustbemad17 ohh your very lucky!!! Ohh i hope you get too have your home water birth!! Its sounds lovely
@GottaBeStrong ohh poor you i hope you get better soon!! Are you hoping for a c-section?

Embracethechaos · 13/05/2018 19:47

@lmxo it starts next Sunday. Got an email reminder and a link to the website, it's a good website, clear and simple but a bit more information than the NHS website. I swore I'd stick to the NHS website when other websites were stressing me out but I actually am starting to dislike the NHS website as its too simplistic and quite anti complementary therapies. I work in a hospital and most doctors I've spoken to are pro natural therapies, as long as they are properly understood and serious medical issues aren't being ignored. NHS website is a real blessing for a quick reference and fact checker, but I like to know about things in depth.... Not obem depth though, I'd rather read than watch, watching is too real. I've had a lovely weekend, had a few hot flushes as the weather forecast has been so unreliable. I don't want to change out of my maternity dress which is comfy but too warm at times. Had an ice pop and an ice cream. No headakes though (I was getting migraines and headakes esspesally bad with fluctuating weather back when it was snowy) my anti anxiety medication and iron supplements are working well, apart from the fact my poos are too heavy to flush (sorry tmi). I am glad my antenatal depression symptoms were part caused by low iron (tiredness, confusion etc.) I should just stick to calling it baby brain but I am glad I'm getting lots of mental health support.

Embracethechaos · 14/05/2018 15:58

More of a worry than a winge... I've posted this separately too.

'OK, I'm sure I could find this out myself and I have an obstetiatrician appointment next week anyway but I've been reading up about labour and I'm confused by the head engaging. At 29 weeks I had a scan and the babies head was down, i had a midwife appointment at 30 weeks and a student examined me and said the babies head was in the pelvis and the baby was probably back to my back. The baby moves around a lot but I'm pretty sure it's head has not left my pelvis. Midwife said they don't worry about position until 36 weeks, but reading an article has got me worried as it says when the babies head engages you will probably go into labour in about 2-3 weeks. This is my first pregnancy, due in July... I know if there was an issue the midwife would have said but... I'm starting nct course next week moving house in 2 weeks, then I was hoping to have June to settle in and set up. I'm on anti anxiety medication which shouldn't cause withdrawals and I should still be able to breastfeed as long as I'm full term...
Basically I'm a bit panicky and want to really understand what the babys head engaging is and feels like. I don't think I've had braxton hicks contractions, I've had various pains but think it's just ligaments stretching as the baby moves. I never got much pain with periods though so is it possible to just not notice?

Added
It might cause mild withdrawal symptoms for a few days but if you breastfeed, but not straight after taking the meds that reduces the withdrawal. But if premature the baby might not be able to break down the drug.

mustbemad17 · 14/05/2018 16:03

Embrace just to reassure you, i've been engaged for 6 weeks now. Did your MW tell you how engaged baby is? At 30 weeks i was 1/5, at 35 weeks i was 3/5 engaged. No sign of movement whatsoever yet, the little rascal is still sitting put. My MW wasn't at all concerned & has scheduled appts as normal. I was engaged for 7 weeks with my last before she got evicted! The only thing i have noticed since he has been more engaged is the change in pressure...i now feel like i want to pee myself constantly & sometimes he feels like he is going to burst out of my pubic bone full forcr

Embracethechaos · 14/05/2018 17:01

no, she just said that's fine as I'd only had a scan the previous week. next time I might ask.

readysetcake · 14/05/2018 17:15

My first was engaged in varying degrees for weeks and weeks. The whole of my third trimester I’m sure. She only fully engaged in the last few and like mustbemad said I could tell as it was a massive pressure increase down below. I couldn’t walk without feeling tight and like I needed a pee. This one is engaged now as I feel pressure low but I can’t tell it isn’t fully as the walking isn’t half as bad as this point last time. Talk to your midwife to clarify but I would try not to worry 😊

WreckItRach · 14/05/2018 17:19

@Embracethechaos I read the same as what @mustbemad17 has said. The baby can engage and stay that way for weeks so try not to panic.
I have an ache on the left side of my pelvis and sometimes feel super heavy down there, uncomfortably so and lately need to pee a lot but it's just a trickle so I have my fingers crossed that at my MW appointment on Friday she says he is engaged 🤞

lmx0 · 14/05/2018 18:45

@Embracethechaos im the same my last scan at 29 weeks baby was head down but ive been feeling pressure (not all the time) and needing to pee alot more so im thinking little miss is starting to engage? Also (prob nothing) but a family member seems to think ive 'dropped'? Im sure we will be fine @Embracethechaos and our babies are in there for a while yet!! (At least until youve moved!!)

How are all you lively mummies today? (Lively? Im sure half of us wish!! Lovely mummies!)

mustbemad17 · 14/05/2018 18:52

The whole needing to pee thing is irritating 😂 for me, little sir being engaged does seem to have stabilised my pelvis a little so my SPD has eased. Swings & roundabouts haha.

Imx0 i wish lively was true haha! I've been trying to figure out how to bottle DD's endless energy...i'd make a mint!

lmx0 · 14/05/2018 19:24

@mustbemad17 yes you would!!!!

Embracethechaos · 14/05/2018 19:37

Thanks for the reasurence about engaging, I am starting to waddle but have less joint pain than most of my pregnancy. I had left sided hip and pelvis pain early on, I've had a dodgy hip off and on since I was a teenager, normally just when start running but it goes in a couple of weeks. Pregnancy is a bit different to running but I did learn some good stretches. I have much less pain now I've stopped work.

I'm Very unlively today, it was a lovely day, sunny but not too hot, dog was hopeful for an early afternoon walk like he often gets at the weekend as he's a bit bored of the garden. I can walk him with the pram for stability as he's a strong dog, walks well on the lead but occasionally pulls and it's not safe anymore (I only started using the pram for training and its so much easier). It has been nice for him to have me around I hope, allthough he mostly sleeps in another room to me so maybe not... I've just packed up the pram though, too much effort to unfold it and get all his leads and harnesses right. Went on a normally short walk to the local Tescos just before dinner, had to stop a couple of times. It's only round the corner but felt more like the walk to the big supermarket. I didn't eat much today due to heartburn, resisted taking medicine until just before dinner as it wasn't that bad.

HolyShmoly · 14/05/2018 20:21

May I join? 36+2. Baby seems to have remembered the perfect spot to lean against a muscle or ligament so my left hip feels uncomfortable.
I've also had a rash on my feet and hands for the last week and a bit which creams are doing nothing for.
Back seems to be constantly sore since Saturday.
Fanny hurts.
8 days of work left.

Embracethechaos · 14/05/2018 20:36

Hi holyshmoly. Hope the next 8 days aren't the slowest 8 days of your life. I've had some ezcma on my hands but talk talking to my family (many have allergies) has been helpful. Cutting down on chocolate and using aveno is perfect for me. My grandma in law gave me a bottle of her prescription stuff and it's the best moisturiser. E45 and vasaline is also good but my mums advice was to steer clear of anything fragranced or with too many chemicals.
