@BobbySD345 I think I'm 6wks+4 today so will be +5 for my scan tomorrow. Hoping it's not a bad omen too! How far along do you think you are? I'm resisting the urge to go out and get another test just to check it's still saying pregnant as have already done 5!! Just hate the waiting bit as the drs etc don't want to see you. X

Beck1988 · 25/04/2018 14:48

@martydog glad everything went ok today! X

MagicalCreatures · 25/04/2018 16:10

So got my first HCG blood test result back.

19dpo @ 4+5 weeks and it’s 2739

I’m happy with that for the moment. Got another test for tomorrow (48 hours later) so as long as it’s rising nicely I’m looking forward to my scan on the 7th May. (I’ve booked it finally)

My last pregnancy that ended in miscarriage, the HCG went like this....

14dpo - 175
15dpo - 195
16dpo - 209
22dpo - 537
23dpo - 631
30dpo - 1618
32dpo - 1859

Just incase anyone, anywhere needs to compare x

Primrose16 · 25/04/2018 17:36

Evening, I feel a bit premature coming over here but I will just pop in to say hi.

Few names I don’t recognise so will just introduce myself - Primrose, 35 (I think) I have a DD who is coming up 17 months. Had 2 previous losses before my rainbow girl. Unfortunately had another mc in January and again in March. Just got another BFP this morning. I am under a specialist for recurrent mc, so it would be amazing to keep this one- but I don’t have a great track history. So probably won’t post a lot as I can’t let myself get excited. Havent a clue when this one would be due as I haven’t had a cycle since mc. Just going to take things one step at a time

MagicalCreatures · 25/04/2018 18:06

Hi @Primrose16 lovely to have you here. All of us on this thread have experienced 1 or multiple losses so your not alone.
I have also found it very difficult to get excited this time around and just keep imagining the worse but it’s all about taking one step at a time.
Every day that passes, inches you a little bit closer to holding your baby in your arms.
Lots of love x

peachesarenom · 25/04/2018 18:17

I'm glad everything is ok Martydog.

peachesarenom · 25/04/2018 18:19

Hi Primrose16 great to see you here!

peachesarenom · 25/04/2018 18:21

So my HCG did almost double.

I have to go back on Friday for another scan, feel emotionally drained.

Progesterone 28, apparently 'it could be higher'!!!

Martydog · 25/04/2018 18:24

Hi @primrose 16 welcome over here. I know just how you feel about not getting excited and I have only had one miscarriage up to now. It the unknown that's the worst?

MagicalCreatures · 25/04/2018 18:37

@peachesarenom do you know what your numbers are?
Also, I was told by the EPU that they look for a progesterone level of anything over 10.5 so I would have said that was great x

peachesarenom · 25/04/2018 18:39

1911 to 3694 HCG.

Thank you MagicalCreatures

MagicalCreatures · 25/04/2018 18:41

@peachesarenom those numbers look great. How many weeks are you?

peachesarenom · 25/04/2018 18:53

I think I'm 5+3 today. I think another scan on fri will be too soon.

BobbySD345 · 25/04/2018 19:58

Thise readings sound great! I'm disappointed they haven't asked me to do blood tests. Surely to measure HCG would help me too ☹

MagicalCreatures · 25/04/2018 20:10

@BobbySD345 they don’t really like too. HCG isn’t a fantastic way of checking for a viable pregnancy. You can have high HCG and still have problems.
Mine were just particularly bad before and they suspected an ectopic for a long time as never found a heartbeat or anything. And I wasn’t miscarrying naturally.
I ended up going through a really long miscarriage and was badly treated which is why I requested it but the DR was still apprehensive.
I’m pretty sure they only oblige to one if there is a suspected ectopicbor other issue with the pregnancy x

Cakelaur · 25/04/2018 22:12

@Primrose16 hi babe. I had progesterone done the day after I got my bfp at 16dpo and it was 23 and my dr says it's fine.

BobbySD345 · 26/04/2018 07:23

@peachesarenom do you mean you think tomorrow it will still potentially be an empty sac? My symptoms are subsiding so I'm not feeling hopeful anymore. Haven't got another scan for over a week. Such a long wait x

peachesarenom · 26/04/2018 07:32

I have no idea what to expect but I'm going out of my mind. I think you should call epu and ask them for bloods or an earlier scan

MagicalCreatures · 26/04/2018 07:59

@peachesarenom @BobbySD345
I really feel for you both. I was in the same situation as you with my last. Just kept seeing an empty sac and EPU kept making me wait week after week, having scan after scan and still nothing.
But I was a lot further along then you both. Over 9 weeks in the end.
Yours are still so early, there’s so many stories where ladies have seen nothing but an empty sac or no heartbeat and then gone back a week later and there it all is.
Don’t give up hope. I’m keeping everything crossed for you both.
It really is the longest wait you’ll ever face in your life. But the day eventually comes around. X x

BobbySD345 · 26/04/2018 09:39

@Magicalcreatures Thank you for your kind words. It's so nice to have people to talk to on here. I wish I had discovered it when I was going through my MC. I felt very alone and had 3 weeks off work in and out of hospital.

Did you have a mc prior to experiencing an empty sac up to 9 weeks or was that your first experience? You read on national stats that it is very rare to mc or have problems twice in a row but it seems far more common than that.

BobbySD345 · 26/04/2018 10:04

@peachesarenom do you have any symptoms?

MagicalCreatures · 26/04/2018 10:06

@BobbySD345
That was my first experience. I had blood tests for HCG done at 14dpo due to a bad bladder infection and it was picked up straight away that something was wrong. The HCG wasn’t rising properly and it was a suspected ectopic. They found an empty sac in my uterus at 5 weeks (which wasn’t rare for it to be empty that early, though with my low HCG level, I knew something was wrong) and I had another scan a week later. Still empty. 4 days later another scan. But still empty.
Then another doctor told me I had to wait another 2 weeks. Even though my HCG was well below what it should have been.
At 9 and a half weeks pregnant, I had another scan. They finally issued me the pessary’s, which didn’t work. I was 13 and a half weeks by the time I finally had the remaining products removed via a scrape with no pain relief. I was totally traumatised.
Hence why I’m a nervous wreck this time round. And why the nurse agreed to do my bloods.

BobbySD345 · 26/04/2018 10:21

@MagicCreaturss I really feel for you. I find it hard to talk about my experience. That's why these groups are good.

I felt let down by the hospital because they couldn't do a D&C for 8 days and within 3 days my body started to naturally let go but it couldn't do it fully and I was rushed to hospital twice for procedures. I lost too much blood and don't remember all of it.

Let's hope that the statistics are accurate and we are all lucky second time around.

I still have uncomfortable pulling type pains lower left and slightly central on occasion which I assume is stretching. Hopjng thats a good sign but my boobs are nowhere near as sore as last week, just tender now. Just don't want to get my hopes up. Also scared like you. I broke down when I went in for the scan earlier this week because the unit brought back memories. Hubby didn't know what to do bless him.

NotBurpeesAgain · 26/04/2018 11:24

@BobbySD345 and @MagicalCreatures your experiences sound horrendous! No wonder you are feeling nervous.

I have now lost over 7kg (1st 2lb) in 15 days. I am exhausted. My GP did not seem concerned because "it won't do me any harm" (thanks for reminding me I am overweight), but I am afraid I am going to collapse in front of my class one day.

BobbySD345 · 26/04/2018 11:47

@NotBurpeesAgain I could do with losing a lot more than a stone but my nausea is just first thing and once I've had something light to eat and drank water I'm fine.

Make sure you are taking in lots of vitamins and water even if you can't eat much and if you are of a slightly higher BMI like I am, you might need more folic acid x
