@Primrose16 nicely timed :-) which is true I could book some AL.

No my immediate manager doesn't know yet - I'm not ready for anyone to know yet Sadalthough I could let her know and request it stays at her level for now... Ie not ready for the larger business to know or work to officially to know.

Never was so concerned in previous pregnancies prior to having a MC but so aware with my thyroid issue I've had a lot of appointments already so I guess at least if she knows then she has got my back so to speak.

Primrose16 · 05/06/2018 16:35

@Patienceofatoddler I wouldn’t book A/L for scan unless you wanted the whole day. Your entitled to that time. I’m part time and don’t work Mondays and Tuesdays. Otherwise I’d go in works time. That’s it tell the boss and say it goes no further. None of my colleagues know and I’m keeping it that way for until after scan and maybe even after that.

BabynameEdie · 05/06/2018 18:06

@Primrose16 so glad you got your scan booked in. Not too long to wait!
So I had my 6+2 scan today and....there's a strong heartbeat at 111 beats per minute, and everything is measuring perfectly for 6+3 so a day ahead. I'm massively relieved and feel the first hurdle is clear and I know there are many more to come but just feel so much calmer knowing it's going as well as it could, for today at least! I got panicked that they would tell me I'm not even pregnant and that it was all in my mind!! (Despite the ten HPTs I did!!)
I think you have your scan tomorrow @Athers666 - let us know how it goes, will be thinking of you.
Have another reassurance scan booked for 9 weeks which is great, just three weeks to wait!

hayleyfx · 05/06/2018 18:08

@BabynameEdie congrats! I’m thrilled for you! You must be feeling so relieved 😀

peachesarenom · 05/06/2018 18:10

Cakelaur I can't wait for 'the glow'!

I lovr your bumps MagicalCreatures, Athers666

Oh Primrose16 I'm glad they've sorted scan for you.

peachesarenom · 05/06/2018 18:13

Congratulations BabynameEdie!!!

Athers666 · 05/06/2018 18:36

@babynameEdie boom! Whoop! So pleased for you!
I'll update tomorrow with how I get on, be it good or bad x

Primrose16 · 05/06/2018 18:58

@BabynameEdie that’s great news

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 05/06/2018 19:07

Great news edie!

For my first baby I took a half day annual leave for the 12 week scan. But it was a Friday afternoon and I was so excited about it all. You're entitled to the time off though. I would just say you have a personal appointment or a hospital appointment and leave it at that. If pressed, I guess you could tell them and ask them to keep it confidential. Most people won't ask for details about a hospital appointment though, in case it's something painfully embarrassing/upsetting.

kaytees · 05/06/2018 19:38

Oh @BabynameEdie that's wonderful news! I hope the next few weeks pass quickly for you.

Agree on the hospital appointment thing - an employer shouldn't really ask what it's for, but if needed you could always take a half day.

My new maternity jeans arrived today ('I'll just buy them as preparation' I thought) and oh my goodness they are so comfy. Like you @SpongeBobGrannyPants I may never return to the dark side of real clothes... will see if I can attach a pic (if only so we can all see how much I was deluding myself pretending I didn't need mat jeans)

Primrose16 · 05/06/2018 21:23

I hated my maternity jeans. They were so uncomfy and kept falling down. But my friend gave me a pair of black linen maternity trousers! They were amazing!!! Maternity leggings are awesome too! To be fair I lived in my non maternity H&M harem pants- they stretched with me and kept me cool in the heat

Wiggle4 · 05/06/2018 21:26

Good luck for all ladies with scans tomorrow!
I am so anxious I feel sick, the excitement is fading and has been replaced by massive fear now!
Lots of hand holding and rainbow dust!

Patienceofatoddler · 05/06/2018 21:41

@Primrose16 @kaytees @SpongeBobGrannyPants

Thanks all - yep I will put it in our system as 'hospital appointment' for now and if my boss is to concerned then I can always tell her in confidence and ask it not go any further.

Sounds silly but I get on really well with my line manager which makes it so hard.

Like many things I'm likely worrying about it way more than I should.

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 05/06/2018 22:41

I only find over the bump maternity jeans comfy. The other styles always need hoiking up all the time I find. The trousers I had on today from H&M will last me ages even though they're not maternity. I sized up and they're pretty stretchy/loose. A bit of a baggy arse on them for now, but well, I'm past caring and I'll soon fill them out.

MagicalCreatures · 06/06/2018 07:49

Good luck on the scans today.
And pleased to hear everything’s ok December. That must have been very scary. X x

MagicalCreatures · 06/06/2018 07:51

Oh my god, baby brain already!!!! Wrong thread x x

Cakelaur · 06/06/2018 09:09

Well I do have a scan today @MagicalCreatures 😂😂 so I'll take that!! 😉

@Cakelaur good luck with your scan today! Exciting 😊

MagicalCreatures · 06/06/2018 11:27

@Cakelaur. Haha that bit was aimed at you and Athers and any others but the December was for the other thread and I combined them. Haha x

Athers666 · 06/06/2018 12:26

Hey everyone. Just home now. I'm shocked to say that Sticky Bean has a strong heartbeat and is all good! Can't believe it, just goes to show that you can have a little one brewing in there and feel fine and have virtually no symptoms!

Athers666 · 06/06/2018 12:28
