First off I’ll apologise for even showing you this but I really need peace of mind, picking that over my dignity here haha. I’ve had 3 mc before, this is my fourth pregnancy, had last mc in January. Found I was pregnant again right after so unsure how many weeks etc. First off had my bloods done they were rising by 10 in a 2 day period, following that it increased only by 5 so suspected ectopic. Went back yesterday ( a week later) for bloods and my levels had gone from 200 to 1010. Was very shocked. Had another scan today as nurse all thought ectopic but found a little sac with a heartbeat in my womb. So shocked! But I’ve had this brown /black bleeding the past 2/4 days. Nurse said she thinks impantation but I’ve had implantation bleed before and it wasn’t like this. Opinions? (P.s I put a tissue over the pad whilst I was out today as I was worried about leaking through, although it isn’t that heavy, just me bein paranoid)

I feel it’s getting heavier and more red

Call your local epu, and ask to be checked out

Hope all is ok Flowers

anxiousmumtobe33 · 07/03/2018 18:20

Could be a haematoma, which is generally harmless to baby.

You definitely need to get checked out.

JediStoleMyBike · 07/03/2018 18:22

I think some women bleed through their pregnancies and there's nothing wrong. Did the midwife say today that there was anything on the scan that might indicate where a bleed would come from?

I really can't say for sure honestly and I don't want to alarm you but that does look like how my miscarriage started and then progressed but as I said, it's different for everyone. I started to get cramps around the time that the bleeding progressed to this. Do you have any pain at all?

Hoping for the best for you Flowers

JediStoleMyBike · 07/03/2018 18:22

Forgot to say - please get checked out if you can.

Markygirl1995 · 07/03/2018 18:25

I would suggest seeing if they're open first if not rest but if it was me I'd go to A&E although they probably won't be able to do anything till tomorrow so it's what ever will give you piece of mind if you start till fill a pad with in 30 minutes and have clots size a plum then go to hospital ASAP but take it easy you should get another scan!!!

Catherine0201 · 07/03/2018 18:26

I just feel so confused because I saw the heartbeat today :(

I've been to the hospital this afternoon for similar amount of bleeding but it was brown and therefore old blood. I had an internal examination and mine is due to irritation of the womb but they did say if it turn red to go straight back. They also said it is exasperated by having sex.

Think you need to go back and get checked out. Fingers crossed for you.

Markygirl1995 · 07/03/2018 18:27

Did you have a transnational scan??

Markygirl1995 · 07/03/2018 18:28

Sorry to meant the wand scan thing 🙈🙈🙈

Catherine0201 · 07/03/2018 18:55

@Markygirl1995 has internal xx

StinkyMcgrinky · 07/03/2018 18:59

The TV scan could have irritated your cervix and triggered bleeding. I had a similar bleed with DS2 at around 6 weeks, attended EPU who scanned and said all was still OK and there were no obvious causes of the bleeding and put it down to me and DH having sex the night before...

Ring EPU absolutely, with your history of MC they should get you in to see what’s going on. Hope you’re OK Flowers

unicorncow · 07/03/2018 19:08

I had a massive bleed (to the point I thought I was haemorrhaging!) at 10 weeks and baby was fine! I'm now 17 weeks, don't lose hope, that's brown so it should be old blood anyway but I'd phone EPU to tell them, good luck

Catherine0201 · 07/03/2018 20:32

Having pains epau said to rest at home unless bleeding through loads of pads an hour. Just lying down trying not to focus on bleeding but do have ache in my belly. So confused :(

OP posts:
demirose87 · 07/03/2018 20:38

OP I had that at about 9 weeks with my third pregnancy. I didn't have pains though. Had an internal and everything was ok and the bleeding was never explained but told it was not coming from my womb and was old blood as it was dark.
Hope everything is ok and you soon get some answers xx

Brownbear84 · 07/03/2018 20:45

Won't they see you Hun? That's heavy bleeding xx

choccybiscuit · 07/03/2018 20:46

Really praying for you OK.

I had bleeding for 5 weeks in the beginning of my pregnancy. First brown, then pink, red red. Baby was fine though.
Sonographer said it may have been a burst blood vessel.

CaMePlaitPas · 07/03/2018 20:57

I personally would be more worried if the blood was bright red. I'm not a doctor (just a Mum who has had brown/black bleeding in pregnancy before) and things turned out fine but I discovered I had BV as a result of the bleed. If you had a transvaginal exam chances are that the wand has hit some old blood and dislodged it. Is the bleeding still heavy? Are you soaking through pads? If you are soaking through pads you need to go to A&E as it's an emergency. Hope you're OK.

Catherine0201 · 08/03/2018 11:39

Bleeding isn’t that heavy, still relaxing, but bleeding is basically black:(

OP posts:
kirinm · 08/03/2018 12:18

That is the colour of bleeding I had with my ectopic. Have they ruled out the possibility of there having been more than one pregnancy? It's obviously unlikely given you've seen a heartbeat and sac in the right place.

RuthsRandomRadish · 08/03/2018 12:20

Thinking of you x

anxiousmumtobe33 · 08/03/2018 12:46

I had black bleeding with my haematoma. For seven weeks! Baby was fine.

It is sore, the consultant told me that any bleeding down there causes some pain.

Markygirl1995 · 08/03/2018 13:05

When are you going to the EPU

anxiousmumtobe33 · 08/03/2018 13:24

OP, I'd just go to EPU anyway tbh to get checked out. They will tell you not to go unless you're filling pads because, basically, they don't have the money or staff. If you're worried, go. Tell them you're filling pads.

Frazzled2207 · 08/03/2018 13:45

I think if brown /Black it's probably ok but I would try and insist on being seen.
