@WonderfullySunny 36+5 today, I was terrified they were going to induce me today so I'm thankful I have at least another 3 days. It's made me realise I need to get stuff sorted, as we had virtually nothing actually ready. So been doing all the washing and cleaning etc!

Consultant said this morning that baby is not engaged and head is still quite free, in that its not in my pelvis, which shows baby is not ready to make an appearance yet! The good news is that baby is head down Smile

TobleroneBoo · 23/03/2018 16:53

So lovely reading all of your updates - I've now started my maternity leave! Smile

Pumpkinma · 23/03/2018 17:49

@Bez9087 Hope everything's gone well!

@dkb15164 Yes! Totally had enough now. Baby out now!

So I've been getting pins and needles and swollen hands on and off all day. Do you think it's worth mentioning it to midwife or anything? Or am I overreacting. My hands are really quite sore and weird feeling now with it 😥

dkb15164 · 23/03/2018 18:02

@Pumpkinma I've had tonnes of issues with pins and needles and cramps in legs throughout pregnancy; I think as long as your hands aren't swollen it's probably fine.

Pumpkinma · 23/03/2018 18:05

@dkb15164 My hands do keep swelling up too but comes and goes, it's only started today though. Ergh every little thing is putting me on edge lately 🙈

dkb15164 · 23/03/2018 18:19

@Pumpkinma have you had any headaches or dizziness at all? It could be pre eclampsia although I think your hands would stay swollen consistently with that. Might just be pregnancy paranoia - my partner is convinced every time I have even a little Braxton hicks that it's the real thing 😂 if the swelling doesn't die down completely by tonight I'd call 111 just to be safe. Although 111s reaction with all pregnancies and babies seems to be to send them to the out of hours as a precaution.

amysaurus87 · 23/03/2018 18:24

@Pumpkinma it could be carpal tunnel, I've had the same thing appear over the last week and a bit or so, hands swell (goes down), pins and needles in my fingers and generally stiff feeling in my hands, I did mention it to my midwife as I know swelling can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, but this is usually accompanied by headaches, feet swelling and some other symptoms.

Deffo call your midwife if your worried though, better to be safe than sorry!

WonderfullySunny · 23/03/2018 19:46

@Pumpkinma I have exactly the same, it's bloody annoying! Mine is carpal as @amysaurus87 mentioned. Happens as we swell up with dorms during late pregnancy apparently, I get it more so at night as well as my hands are lower and curled up. I've found keeping the wrist as straight possible helps, also massage, if it does get bad then you can get a wrist splint to help things. Definitely ask your mw though to be sure :)

@amysaurus87 after my trip to the hospital this week it made me realise I really need to get organised as well. Everything is now washed just need to sort out the hospital bag for DH and I! Good luck with yours Smile

Pumpkinma · 23/03/2018 20:16

Thanks ladies! It's not happened in a while now so I'll just mention it midwife on Tuesday unless it starts up again. Was just so strange!!

WonderfullySunny · 23/03/2018 20:41

Sorry about the bold fail...and typo! Meant odema Blush

Loosemoose28 · 23/03/2018 21:46

@laura how did I miss your announcement!!! Congratulations- face presentation!! You must have been awesome getting bubba into the world!! hope you are feeling ok x

@pumkinma sounds classic carpal tunnel, I get it in the night which is horrible when being sick as can’t really lean on the loo. If you start noticing swelling anywhere rlse defo call midwife/ triage before tuesday. I was told to try sleeping with hands under pillow so they stay flat. Used to work but now I am such a fidget.

rosegarden45 · 23/03/2018 23:23

Officially on maternity leave, yay! I hope everyone is well and the new babies are all sleeping well. I want to start hurrying mine up now, I'm feeling very ready. Feeling very heavy and tired. Saying that tho it would be nice to have at least a week to relax prior to birth. Let's see what happens 😊

Bez9087 · 24/03/2018 05:39

Hi ladies
Sorry it’s been such a hectic 24 hours. Both girls arrived at 12:15pm & 12:17pm weighing 5lb 5.5oz and 5lb 5oz. Isobelle was born first on the left and Imogen on the right. Both girls was breech so need hip scans In six weeks as a precaution and drs will check them when they do the peads round.
Isobelle was very mucusy so needed to go to scbu as sats was quite low but she’s doing amazing and hopefully will be back with us soon. Her oxygen has been taken away now etc so she’s going on the right direction. Imogen is a little dream boat hardly notice she’s there as she’s so good. Both girls on antibiotics for the group b strep because prem and also because they both showed signs at birth. Other than that both are amazing. I am having a bit of a rough time with the section relying on the oramorph every two hours but hopefully that will get better the more I move about. Have been quite restricted so far. Thanks for all your wishes x

Oh @Bez9087 ThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks they are just perfect and really great weights! Well done you truly, you've been through so much to get here, lol I'm having a little cry over here! Have your DC been in to meet their new sisters yet or are waiting? I hope all goes OK today with visitors, if you're not feeling up for it especially with the pain you have every right to put people off until your home.
You've made my day Bez!!ThanksSmile Congratulations again to you and DH

Pumpkinma · 24/03/2018 07:22

@Bez9087 They are beautiful! Congratulations and well done! Hope you start to feel a bit better soon! ❤️☺️😘

emvy · 24/03/2018 07:52

Congratulations, Bez, they are beautiful! And as Wonderfully said, great weights. Glad they’re both doing well and hope Isobelle will be back with you soon. It sounds like you’re doing great and I second the waiting for visitors if you’re not quite ready - it’s so important you recover from the section and save all your energy for your gorgeous little bundles.

So envious of all your beautiful babas! Cannot wait now!

AnnaMadden · 24/03/2018 08:02

@Bex9087 congratulations and well done they are absolutely gorgeous. What great weights for twins too. Section pain does get easier...weirdly the more you move the better it gets but stick with the oramorph for as long as you need it...you'll soon only need paracetamol and ibuprofen! You're doing just great! 💖💖

Rae2017 · 24/03/2018 12:03

So happy for you @bez. They are both gorgeous and adorable. Hope your stay in hospital isn't too long. And wishing you a speedy recovery.

HarryHarry · 24/03/2018 12:33

Bez9087 They're adorable, congratulations!

PinkRose24 · 24/03/2018 17:05

Hello everyone hope your all okay.. Need a bit of advice, I'm 35 weeks exactly and for the last few hours I've like like period cramps, like sort in my ovary type area (pubic bone area). It's feel like that sort of feeling like right before you come on your period and have to quickly pop to the toilet to see if you have started your period! I've had a warm bath which took the niggly feeling away but now it's come back...It's sort of like constant it doesn't disappear and then come back. This is my 2nd pregnancy and if I'm honest I can't really remember the sort of pain I had when my labour 1st started. Is this just everything getting prepared for what's about to happen in a few weeks time or could it be a sign of labour?
Thank you in advance

AnnaMadden · 24/03/2018 17:11

@PinkRose24 it could be a sign of early labour or it could be your womb being sensitive if the baby has dropped further into your pelvis. A couple of paracetamol and a warm bath should help ease it after a couple of hours.. if it doesn't relax and get some rest in now.. just in case! 😉

PinkRose24 · 24/03/2018 17:20

@AnnaMadden Thank you. I've had a warm bath and the niggly feeling has returned, my bump does look lower if I'm honest so maybe it is just because baby has dropped. I will keep an eye on things and if anything changes I'll ring a midwife! I think I may just be being a bit dramatic so dont really want to ring anyone unless I'm sure I know what it is. I'll take a couple of paracetamol....It's not really painful I'm just aware that I've got niggly pain if that makes sense X

Bez9087 · 25/03/2018 03:11

Thanks ladies.
Isobelle was able to join us at tea time on the Saturday so have both girls with me. They still need to go today special care for bloods and antibiotics but hopefully if these bloods come back okay then the antibiotics can stop and both cannular removed which will be good as they both have one in a wrist each.
I wish I had put everyone off. I had my dc come up the Friday evening on delivery suite that wasn’t too bad and dh took dd to go see isobelle in scbu. Then today it’s been like a rotating door 1-3 and 6-8. I felt so rough by 3pm as I hardly slept last night then had a bad headache and been torn between my recovery and wanting to be with isobelle so been pushing myself a bit too much.
The pain ironically isn’t in the section scar it is where I had my tubes cut and tied. That’s causing me more issue than the section scar. I’m finding it so painful from where my tubes are than the scar but to be fair I’m on top of painkillers because of this so haven’t had chance to feel the pain yet. It’s odd hobbling about but think that’s because again the pain in the tubes. The midwives have said though most people who have the tubes done at same time also describe the pain worse from the tubes as had two big operations in one basically. I’m still having the oramorph but it’s been more widely spread today compared too this morning when I was relying every two hours. I think we have a quieter day tomorrow as not many people are going to come up well I say this I don’t think they are. Anyway here’s a better pic of my girlies today next to me.

Hang in there ladies your all doing amazing and your so close now. I promise it’s worth it Grin

Miles now the bruising has gone down and he's settling in. So strange that he should still be in my tummy!
