Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

I can't wait to be finished work! Have become office based which has helped and they really are so good where I work. I have been very lucky as I know not all workplaces are as accommodating! I'm not sure I will make it to 36 weeks at work though as my pelvis/hips/back are absolute agony particularly at night when I struggle to sleep with it. During the day I feel like someone has kicked me hard in the nether regions 😣 Will settle once baby is here though.
I need to pack hospital bag I guess, and I will definitely be in maternity bits for a while after. Comfort will be what I am looking for! Xxx

@mesha82 if u have a spare duvet lie on it at night. Double it up for extra padding. My physio told me to do that and it really helps. Also pillow between the knees.

Thanks mugglenet.... I have done that which did help but the further along I get the worse it's getting. I have a 12 foot pregnancy pillow, a pillow under my bump and an extra pillow between my knees. I have to turn regularly as my hips start to ache and it's such a gaff to turn over... my spine clicks and I'm just waiting for the pelvis to start clicking also. We stopped physio as it was not helping. Support belt and crutches did not help either. Just riding it out really and trying to avoid the things I shouldn't do but I knew it would be worse third time round. Are you managing ok? Xxx

I do water aerobics and yoga once a week. Also get acupuncture into hips which helps. This is my first baby and I've suffered from.the very start with spd. I've dropped to 4days a week also as I'm on my feet quite a bit. Good on you still working. Your doing great

Sped is rubbish, just started Physio for it. Hope it helps
I feel huge! Like a bus. A big bus. Things are definitely getting harder now. I’ve noticed big changes in the last week and still have 6 to go! X

@sammy891 I got my jogging bottoms from h&m. I just bought a medium, they fit my bump now comfortably. They have loads of room!

I’m due on March 18th with my first. Finishing work on Feb 28th. It’s been pretty straight forward for me so far - no sickness, tiredness or weird cravings. I’m sure it will all catch up with me eventually though!

@sammy891 They're not maternity no, I got a size medium thinking I'd have to take them back for a large tbh but there was loads of room in them! They were 9.99. I think they do maternity joggers though, I just wanted something I could wear when the bump is long gone also!

Im nearly 35 weeks, finish work next week and can't frigging wait. Was feeling much better but these last few days I've felt drained, im getting sciatica down my bum and my hips hurt when i sleep on them. I am using a pillow between my legs which has helped a bit but then im up in the night for a million wees, drooling like crazy in my sleep and one extremely leaky nipple. Just started to wash all babys clothes and get them organised, still not packed my hospital bag though oops. Keep dreaming more and more that she's here so im ready for her to come out now! As much as I'm moaning i feel very lucky that I've not got it as bad as a lot of people have, but i can defo see why people say the last month of pregnancy feels the longest!

Twichett22... your post made me laugh 😊 Some pregnancy symptoms are soooo laughable! The dribbling is awful and tge Leaky boobs always seems so ridiculous and unnecessary.... just sray in there until you are needed! Lol.... almost there and you can put your feet up (as much as you can) for last couple of weeks. Like Mugglenet suggested, a doubled over duvet under your sheet may help with hip pain. It did for mine initially.... xxx

Spd is no joke... I just spent the night thinking my hips were being crushed and broke into pieces. 🙈 at the 31 week Mark today... countdown into single figures. Although I think I'll miss being pregnant there is something really special having your baby so close to you and the movements only for u.

@Mugglenet what is SPD? I know from a quick google it's hip problems but is there anything I can do to avoid it do you think?

@potteryprincess it's pelvic pain. It apparently affects one in five. I've had it from the very start. Not everyone gets it though. It's your body's way of reacting to the hormones.

I found a really good YouTube person for 'hypnobirthing' (although I would actually just call it sensible breathing in labour!).

Its called 'The positive birth company'. I have to say after watching the videos I think that for most people these would be enough (perhaps with a cheap c.d from amazon to listen to as well) to get them through labour.

When I had my daughter years ago this was not really 'a thing', and I can see that it has become a really positive technique but it is also been branded and repackaged and sold to women who otherwise may have it in them to do it without having to spend. It's something we all have the capability to do I think.

A lot of what she says in these videos came naturally to me personally and I had a really positive labour with no tearing and only had pain relief (one shot of pethadine) after 10 hours (no gas or air either at all as it made me feel sick).

It just made sense not to scream and shout and panic I guess and I was very lucky that the labour ward had no one else in so had 3 midwives to guide me through when the pushing began.

These techniques she talks about in the YouTube videos was exactly what I did (the up breathing and the down breathing for both stages) and I was on my feet again a few hours post birth and back at home the same day. Not tearing again this time is obviously a priority, and I'm sure luck was also involved, and not having a huge baby (she was 7 pounds) too helped.

But the breathing through the contractions really helped me and actually kind of going to the 'mind palace' as Sherlock would say, was essential for me to remain focused and as calm as possible.

I managed a good 8 hours at home before going into hospital this way too, though I have been warned not to wait so long this time in case I have her on the kitchen floor Grin

I'll attach the link to the videos, I honestly think the courses, although for some people will help anxiety ect, are trying to sell you something you already have inside you. Though I understand 'accessing' this for some people is difficult and if you've got the money they do sound relaxing and informative.

For anyone else the online video's available combined with a c.d for labour could be enough

@Mugglenet it sounds absolutely horrid. I think my friend had it and she was in a lot of pain, especially the last few months. What with everything else that comes with pregnancy, it's just not on is it!

Thank you for sharing these videos. My midwives signed me up for sure start hypno birthing got a call to go yest and when I went they asked me to leave as my address wasn't in a sure start area. I was so upset all day yest and made feel so small. I didn't realise there was videos on you tube. I can't wait 2 start watching.
Bar my hips I've breezed through pregnancy so I've been very fortunate, I actually really enjoy being pregnant. I love my bump and seriously think I'm gonna miss it when I'm gone. However ask me will I feel the same mid March 😂😂

@Mugglenet I can totally understand why you felt like that. It would of course have been fantastic to have these classes for free but we all have it within us. It is actually really easy and unless you have complications I can't see why anyone can't have a really successful, focused, positive and calm labour.

It's a shame you have not been reassured about this and they just let you down after you thinking it would happen for you.

It's just breathing and meditation to be honest. If the meditation element puts anyone off its just closing your eyes and imagining something pleasant I guess Smile.

I used to imagine rushing through a tunnel to the light at the end, it just kind of popped into my head at the time, and by the time I reached 'the light' the contraction was either over or on the wane.

I will of course admit with the pushing part I did get half way through and said 'i'm not doing this any more, it has to stay in there forever'... so it's not all rainbows and tranquility Grin.

I may just get a relaxing birth music c.d to combine with the hypnobirthing techniques as I imagine someones voice coaching me could be annoying and result in a c.d player being hurled across the room Grin

Absolutely SPD is no joke Mugglenet... I have spent a lot of time crying and calling out in pain during this pregnancy. It's definitely the worst I have had it. I think I might see a chiropractor once I have given birth to get everything put back in place as I didn't after my first dealings with SPD and have had terrible lower back pain since.
Some of the other symptoms have made me giggle and blush but definitely not the SPD xxx
