Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

So exciting Potteryprincess30 ! I'm London based, are you? Oh, and on hospital bag discussions, I read a good post on the Mothership website about hospital bags, one of the girls has used Ziploc bags (like the freezer bags you can write things on with marker pens) to name all the stuff, e.g. 'Hair ties' 'Babygrows' etc - sounds a bit OCD but it's actually a brilliant idea. I was rooting around for hairbands while having the most intense contractions last time, and my boyf was useless trying to find them. Aggh, what a memory!!

Hi ladies!

I’m officially due on 3 March, but booked my elcs today for mid Feb. Currently 33+5 with twins and desperate to meet them. I had no idea pregnancy was this hard, was so naive looking back!

@Jjpeston I'm in Bristol, just trying to find out more about stem cell donation from donating the cord after it's cut. I started another thread on it if anyones interested, especially in London as they do collect from some hospitals there. The stems cells can help treat children with blood cancer so a really good cause and the cord will just be incinerated otherwise. Food for thought anyway (well hopefully not food...Confused)

Anyway yes to a few plastic bags with essentials in. Though I also consider lipstick an essential so will be putting that in with the hair bands. Honestly, putting some on post birth last time for a photo felt really really good [glitterbal]

@Iwantaunicorn oh my god twins! you will legit be ready for that elective in a few weeks, thats for sure. So exciting! yay, babies! Love it Smile

I feel like a plastic zip lock bag would keep the baby clothes really clean and ready however lost in the main bag they got too. Great idea

Started packing today mainly because im snowed in and ive all the cleaning done. the zip lock bags would be a great idea. Just so it's easy for hubby to access. I'm assuming I need to pack things like towels and face clothes. Also ladies can I ask... I normally wear a size 12 in underwear... I was told to get BIG pants... how big are we talking exactly.

@Mugglenet I normally wear a size 12 and a size 18 full briefs is what you need. M&S are THE ONES Smile

MrsL2016 · 19/01/2018 23:26

I wear a 12 usually and was going to get size 16. Should I really go bigger?

Report
PandaCat · 20/01/2018 08:44

Last time I only bought a size up in underwear from my pre-pregnancy size!

We are all different but I have honestly put on minimal weight and even i am only completely comfortable in the size 18. However these are the full brief style ones and the waist is still elasticated and they are 'over the bump' obviously! otherwise they would be too large.

I think over the bump pants though are perfect pre and post labour as it takes some time for your stomach to shrink back. With the elastication though a 16 would also be fine too I reckon. The gusset still seems the same as a 12 so all good for putting in maternity pads after the birth too.

@PandaCat last time I was the same, I probably stayed in size 8 pants (this was 8 years ago) until the last months, but I was so uncomfortable in them. I didn't realise there was this other option of the full brief kind (brigit Jones pants) until my mum gave me some absolutely huge ones that I lived in the last few weeks and proceeding months after labour.

I cannot recommend m&s enough for pants, the packs are really reasonable and you may never look back Grin never having to pull them up and feeling like they are 'keeping everything in' and together post labour is so good and re-assuring.

I'm just buying the same as last time, "granny pants" from asda, they did the job for me last time, if only I could buy the same size as last time Grin

I really should get on that, so far I've only got maternity pads and jogging bottoms to wear home in my hospital bag.

Hi ladies.... I am due March 30th with my third. Working till 36 weeks if I can make it. I have been really struggling with SPD/PGP and I am exhausted! Really can't wait. Good luck to everyone 😍 xxx

@meash82 I'm with ya on spd. Have been in physio from the start with it. Water aerobics and yoga really help. Will also help get baby into best position.

What do u normally wear home from hospital.. these questions might sound a bit silly. But do u still come home in maternity wear or is everyone different.

@Mugglenet some people bounce back and slim back down quicker then others that's for sure. But I think the last few weeks pre birth and the month after is definitely leggings all the way. Or go on Asos plus size men and buy a pair of xxxl joggers with a draw string waist , lord they are comfortable Blush
I was back in my normal jeans after my first baby within a few weeks but that practically a different life and I was half the woman I am now so I will be living in those joggers for the foreseeable

I've got jogging bottoms to come home in, they're not maternity but they have plenty of room in them!

I'll probably be wearing my maternity jeans for a few weeks after baby is here, although they're over the bump so not sure how that's going to work. With DD1 the jeans I had the band didn't go all the way over so I was able to wear them a year later in the house for comfort Grin, these ones go all the way over.

@artisticat hello fellow March due pregnant lady Smile I am hoping to have my daughter in a birth center in Bristol so waterbirth is an option but I wasn't too keen last time so may give it a miss. Killed a bit of time though with my previous labour as it took them ages to fill the pool up as they left the plug out. I literally dunked my lower half and in true little Britain style said 'I don't like it' and promptly got out. It felt so wrong to be wet for me but I will inevitably give it another try this time, hopefully it'll be warmer then the last time too (This may have been a factor in my experience!)

I am 34 weeks and have not been told anything about stillbirth yet so perhaps at my midwife in a couple of days they will discuss this? I did look a little online and it seems to just say to keep a 'movement diary', even a mental one, so if any change you can go in and check it out at the hospital.

Due date 28th March - 4th pregnancy (late loss at 22 weeks) a couple of years ago. We have two dd's - 11 and 4 and the baby is also a dd so a hat trick of dds if all goes well. I have well and truly had enough now - immense and breathless and all the psychological worry owing to my loss, counting down the days! Have started to pack my hospital bag and currently arranging care for my dds for when I enter labour which has proved a headache (separate thread). Also, fed up with people saying I look fit to burst - why is it complete strangers feel they have the right to comment on your anatomy? I find this really annoying! At nearly 44, this will be my last pregnancy whichever way it turns out (can you tell, I am struggling with irritability - hee, hee!)

@User45632874 Hello! You are going to make it through this pregnancy. It really is nearly over now you've got to 30 weeks, home straight and it will fly by now. The 20-30 weeks is just the slowest and most niggly time, it's tbh a pretty boring time in my opinion to but now is the preparing and nesting.

In 2 months you'll definitely be holding that beautiful baby girl. Your baby is basically 'cooked' now anyway, just layering on that gorgeous fat. You must be feeling very anxious but we are all here for you in the cyber world. So glad we have this March thread up, it's crazy since it started a few weeks have already gone by. February is going to fly.

@Meash82 I am honestly in awe of anyone working right now, although I did last time I can't imagine this time around. I am very very impressed with anyone getting up and out, in January, in the wet, in the dark! and that weight of the baby by about 3pm Hmm just such a slog and so snoozy by the end of the day. We women are hero's Star

@PandaCat where did you buy your jogging bottoms? I haven't packed anything yet to wear home from hospital and it will probably be easier getting these on than leggings.
