Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

A newbie here. I took 4 tests today, within 15 seconds of testing the lines showed up (not at all faint) so I'm quite positive that I am pregnant as I researched that false positives are rare and given I have done 4 it's unlikely that I'm not.

My DP left me last week so I feel mixed emotions and I'm very scared. Just hope I can cope!

I’m feeling good thanks, still on such a high after getting BFP! I have morning sickness, a cold and my IBS is flaring up but other than that I’m ok. How about you?

Thanks @Ktn that’s what I am hoping. The women on here are so inspirational I was hoping it would rub off onto me so to speak. I’ve ordered a pile of books to read as I feel completely clueless.

Im fine pumpkin just occasional nausea and sore boobs and a constant anxiety which is gradually going away!

PregnantAndfrightened I bought a book and it made me feel instantly better! Stopped me googling too much!

Guys seriously why it’s even called morning sickness if I feel nauseous at almost 11pm 😳

@scoobysue10, fingers crossed we both have a better day today, you physically and me mentally.

@pinkypromise, my nausea is always in evenings, had it once or twice earlier I’m day but always kicks in after dinner

@ktn35 ah I’m pretty much the same. I have pretty mild symptoms at the moment that flare up worse time to time. I understand the anxiety, I’m feeling like that too. It’s such a long wait until a scan to see if everything is okay.

Is anyone having a harmony test?

Also, I’ve heard some doctors do vaginal scan and others don’t... is it a good thing to get done or is it considered risky?

@Scoobysue10 I feel your pain I have been feeling sick all day every day since Monday and I feel awful so drained I just don't want to do anything!! So hard at work questioning having a couple of days off anyone else done that? Feel bad being off but I feel bloody awful and now my ibs has decided to flare up again which is giving me pain 😔🙈, I can only guess symptoms have got bad again as I think there is a hormonal surge at 8 weeks. It's so weird tho I'm glad I feel sick cause I feel that's a good sign for me but it's also really hard.

@pumpkinpatch, as far as I know they only do vaginal scans if it’s too early for an abdominal scan to work and I don’t think they would do them if they were considered risky. I got pregnant through IUI and the clinic likes to give you an early scan to see if pregnancy is viable. I had mine at 6w+2days and it was vaginal. I asked if there was any increased risk and they said no. I am having another one next Thursday when i’ll be 8+5 and they told me they will try abdominal first and if pic isn’t clear enough they will go to vaginal scan.

General question to anyone who has had abdominal scans before, do I need a full bladder for it? I forgot to ask when booking yesterday. For vaginal I always found scans easier if I had an empty bladder but I don’t know if it’s same for abdominal

For abdominal scans you need a full bladder. I read that they recommend drinking a pint of water half hour/20minutes before your scan

@snowy1982 yes abdominal scans you do need a full bladder however when I went for both of mine I didn't I was being sick so was hard to drink water but they got a clear picture externally not needed an internal one yet.

My tests were the same as yours, literally started turning as soon as I did them!
I did 8! 4 clear blue digital and 4 first response just to be safe ha ha

Hope your both feeling better today. I am having a good day so far. Just hope it continues.
I was thinking the same about hormonal surge aso had a few bad days this wk. Although I have noticed if I don't sleep too well during the night then i'm in for a bad day that day.
Felt so ill yesterday. Even my partner was worried about me as I looked so pale.
Have my booking in appointment with midwife this morning.

Found out 2 weeks ago, already been to see GP. Congratulations!! xx
