Congratulations @Brenna24 ! Francesca is so beautiful x

Lovely scan photo @xxmissbrightsidexx I hope your placenta shifts!

@Expecto I'm planning a home birth and have found the local HB midwives absolutely lovely. I want to feel more in control and I know I'll be more relaxed at home. Perhaps the different environment could work for you? Although understand why you might be cautious given what you've been through Thanks

Meerkat91 · 18/01/2018 14:06

Can't believe I'm 22 weeks today. Still freaking out thou after two mc. And it's strange to think this time last year I was pregnant and didn't even know about it.

itsgoingtoofast · 18/01/2018 18:04

Haven't been on here in quite a while, so not fully caught up. Congrats @Brenna24, what a beautiful girl. So lovely to see! Hope you settle in at home quickly. What an incredible payoff for all the worry and stress of the past 9 months.

Lovely to see so many good scans too, fingers crossed for a smooth ride from here on in.

I am 29+2 today, have definitely calmed down a lot from the early days. It is lovely and reassuring to feel movement. I have had another GTT and it seemed that the result was fine, although the 2nd doctor I saw said the post prandial reading was a bit high but then checked and decided it was fine based on the latest cut off which has been raised. Not sure how I feel about that! I will just try and be careful with my diet anyway, although that is definitely easier said than done!

Have another scan booked for 37 weeks ahead of my elcs at 39 weeks. None of these things seem very far away now. I will need to start thinking about getting organised soon I suppose, but that is a bit of a mental hurdle in itself.

Hope you're doing ok DD buddy @MsJuniper!

brogueish · 18/01/2018 18:29

High five @xxmissbrightsidexx - great scan pic! I had my 20 week one this morning also and he looks fine, a bit small but within range. We have some scan pics too but they're a bit rubbish compared to yours lol.

We did have a moment of minor panic when the sonographer pulled me from the waiting room because they had to "check a reading on a better identical machine". The blood flow to baby's brain was slightly lower than at the last scan which sent them/me into a spin - apparently it's fine though, if it had been high it would have been a problem but low is actually good. I did start going into the "I knew this was all going too smoothly" thought process and fearing the worst...fortunately not for long.

@notparticularlypatient Congrats on the Harmony result, it is such a relief isn't it. Very best wishes for Tuesday Flowers.

@Flatwhite32 My nausea subsided dramatically around then, and I've had none at all for about a month now. Try to enjoy the relief, if you can. I know it's hard.

Ekphrasis · 19/01/2018 08:42

I've not been on much and missed so much!

Congratulations @Brenna24! She's beautiful! Sounds like a worrying few days but I'm glad all is well now.

Welcome to new posters, and congratulations!

I'll be 24 weeks tomorrow! Hurrah! I have to say I'm finally starting to enjoy pregnancy. My first pregnancy was not normal by any means and the anxiety of pregnancy post mc has over shadowed this one but I'm rarely getting anxious now - occasional worries about birth weight. I think I'm very encouraged by the strong punches I get quite frequently! (And worried I've bred another live wire!)

Ds (5) sings to baby every day. He's constantly thinking about what he'll do with it give baby. Was most concerned that we'd given away a large Toby toy this morning (actually it's in a bag to be sold/ charitied) and must get another for baby to have. It's so very sweet and his excitement probably is helping me too.

Ekphrasis · 19/01/2018 08:44

Unfortunately I have a large purple vein in my vulva which I didn't know could happen BlushShock. The pain from the veins there can be quite bad actually and I can't work out why some days are better than others.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 19/01/2018 09:33

Thanks @brogueish, this scan pic is the best out of the 4 that i got, he kept hiding away but we did see his face looking right at us which was lovely and its made me want to book a 3d scan in a few weeks time to get a better look at him, wev never had a 3d scan before. Glad to hear things were okay at your scan x

kirinm · 19/01/2018 10:33

I'm really freaking out as I have quite severe lower backache. No bleeding and constant nausea (with actual throwing up today) but google doesn't say backache is normal at 7 weeks. I'm really trying to keep the anxiety in check but it is so hard when your body is giving off miscarriage signals.

peachgreen · 19/01/2018 10:39

@kirinm I had bad back ache at that stage - ended up at physio even. Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees, that really helped me and reassured me it was muscular.

Hettyturnip · 19/01/2018 16:13

I think i’m on the way out. Had slight brown spotting this afternoon and it’s turned pink. Will phone the midwife but i’ve got a feeling it’s not going to be good.

Hettyturnip · 19/01/2018 16:53

Managed to get a scan on Monday morning, seems like a long time to wait.

I was worrying this week because my symptoms are much less. But I’m further along than my other miscarriages so was also feeling hopeful. Oh well, nothing I can do about it.

Flatwhite32 · 19/01/2018 17:24

I've booked a reassurance scan for next week at the place I had my private scan done a few weeks back. They knock £30 off as a 'loyalty' reassurance scan as I've booked with them before, so it's really well priced. I'm just so worried after my MMC and just want to know everything is ok. Struggling with the anxiety and feeling less symptomatic (even though I know that's normal at nearly 14 weeks!).

Flatwhite32 · 19/01/2018 17:26

@Hettyturnip I had exactly that at 6 weeks all was ok (well at that stage anyway. Of course my anxiety hasn't eased one bit now I'm nearly 14 weeks!). How far along are you?

Expecto · 19/01/2018 17:30

@Hetty I think you know you’re body best but sometimes spotting is due to implantation bleeding too which I had last time round. How many weeks are you? You will be in my thoughts and prayers 💐

Hettyturnip · 19/01/2018 18:29

I’m 10 weeks, too late for implantation? I’ve not had sex recently, nor a bm. It’s gone back to brown now, so that’s good for now.

Hollymchollyface · 19/01/2018 18:31

Hi everyone, I'm supposedly 5 weeks now and not feeling that confident that all is well.
I don't really have any symptoms which I know is normal for some people but I have got it into my head that my progesterone levels are low and that I will mc again.
I hope this is just paranoia. I don't know whether its worth testing frequently (pg tests) for reassurance ? Did anyone else do this and does it help? I think if the tests weren't as dark as I expected it would probably just make me worry too.
My Dr said that I could come for an early scan after about 6 weeks but I also don't know if that is a good idea or not?
Currently, I'm trying to rest lots and look after myself mentally. Can I ask if others can share tips on getting through the early days and what helped you?
I hope I don't sound like a mental case, I am overthinking massively

Expecto · 19/01/2018 18:42

@Hetty hopefully it was just a passing blip and everything will be fine. Please let us know how it goes on Monday

@Holly I think remaining calm and trusting in the process is all you can do...easier said than done I know. Fingers crossed all goes well for you

Hettyturnip · 19/01/2018 18:59

Hi Holly! I found taking tests too worrying, but I did take another one at 6 weeks to see if I got 3+ weeks. My other mcs I didn’t get that. It would have prompted me to get an early scan if not. Scans are good, but 6 weeks can be too soon to see anything reassuring and can lead to 2 weeks more worry until you go back again. I agree with foxtrot, if you can wait til 8 weeks it would be better.

I try to forget about it as much as possible (not very good at that) and I try to remember that there’s nothing that I can do to change the outcome. I have tried to give it up to God in the past, but found that too hopeful this time, might help if you’re religious at all.

Hollymchollyface · 19/01/2018 19:09

Thanks ladies, you're right there's nothing I can do so I will just try and wait it out until 8 weeks and not test again.

BertieBotts · 19/01/2018 19:54

I don't think that's quite right - hCG level peaks at about 12-13 weeks so should keep going up until then. And you don't get the hook effect (false negative due to high hCG) until you reach 500,000 hCG which is quite rare and usually indicates a molar pregnancy (but can be a healthy anomaly).

Dandelion89 · 19/01/2018 20:16

Hello ladies, hope you don't mind me joining in? I'm currently pregnant after having a miscarriage in September with my first pregnancy.
I went for a reassurance scan today and it measured me at 6w3 instead of 6w9. Has anyone had any experience of this happening before? There was a strong heart beat present.
It's so nice to see all of your positive stories on this thread. Pregnancy after miscarriage sure is stressful!
