Due today

So today is my due date, so far no signs of baby making an appearance. I’m just wondering what happens if I don’t go into labour?
I have a s&s booked with my midwife on Monday but if that doesn’t work, what next? Will my midwife book me in for an induction?

This is my 3rd baby but my previous two started labour on their due dates so I have no experience if I end up going over due!

It's my due date today too @GlitterSparkles17! My baby gave me a bit of a tease this morning as I woke up feeling dizzy and was then sick but other than that no signs of anything happening whatsoever. My midwife had already booked an appointment for me on Thursday (40+5) in case I haven't given birth by then, she said that's the earliest I'd be offered a stretch and sweep. This is my first child so I have less experience than you with all this but I get the sense that where I live they don't talk about induction until you're at least a week overdue (and personally I want to try and avoid this so will definitely not be requesting one!)

Hey Glitter yes they will book you for induction around 14 days after due date although I imagine with two babies born on due date already you prob won't go that far over

Mammabubs, hope your little one doesn’t keep you waiting too long! I’m so fed up and so ready for baby to arrive, I know there’s still a lot of the day left but I just feel like I’m never going to go into labour!

Same Glitter! Definitely ready to have this baby now but not so sure they feel ready to meet us(!) I'm distracting myself by dyeing my hair and having a bath 🙈

Someone has recommended pineapple juice so I’m sat with a glass of it now lol

Hi all....it’s my due date today as well, been feeling sick and headache all day so not moved!! Fingers crossed we won’t have to wait to much longer....good luck and keep us posted 😬😬

Aww happy due date @Smith7! Still no sign of any action here but there's still some hours in the day for things to kick off! (It would surprise me if I go two weeks over though!) 😬 Fingers crossed for you both x

I know me as well, my first they broke my waters a day over from reduced movements (13 yrs ago) and my youngest had a sweep at 40+9 so not holding out much hope 🙈🙈, I have everything crossed for all those waiting lol x

Nothing from me yet 😭 I was so convinced something would happen today!

Same Glitter, maybe we'll wake up in the night to something? (I live in hope!) Having said that I've already accepted in my head that I'll probably make it to aquanatal on Tuesday morning as I still won't have had the baby... maybe they'll prove me wrong!

How’s everyone doing today? Any signs? I’ve been having random period pains but nothing major and not regular!

Hilariously that's exactly what I've had Glitter, I was walking round Costco for half an hour earlier with definite lower back pain and a really strong "pre-period" feeling that I tried to explain to DH but since coming home and having a bath I think it's gone again... rubbish!!! Have yours stuck around or come back?

Aw that’s such a shame! These babies like to trick us don’t they? Nothing for hours now 😭 I have some backache but I’ve been having it on an off for around a week I’m expecting it to stop again.

Nothing here....in fact felt the best I’ve felt the whole of my pregnancy 🙈🙈🙈. Fingers crossed ladies tonight is the night x

I really hope so. Although I've had a really chesty cold for the last 1.5 weeks and whilst the cold has finally gone the chesty cough lingered a bit and I have really painful ribs as a result... I'm just telling myself the gas and air will fix it all when the time comes! 🙈 Fingers crossed for you both tonight! X

Went to midwife this morning and she couldn’t reach my cervix 😭 so no stretch and sweep as she couldn’t reach. It’s official this baby is never coming out!

Sorry to hear that Glitter, that's frustrating. I know logical me would say that things can progress very quickly so it might not be a sign of no baby soon... but equally I know how I'll be feeling on Thursday if I have the same outcome (which I'm fully expecting to!) 🙈

That’s the thing I know anything could happen at any moment but the negative voice in my head is just taking over and being like yeah right keep dreaming lol good luck for Thursday

Oh know....I had a sweep done today was told I was 2cm so fingers crossed!! I’ve got all fingers and toes crossed for you all 😬😬😬. Although I’m dreading the labour so mixed emotions lol x

Oooo good luck smith! Fingers crossed for you and let us know how you get on? Think my plan if no bubba by Thursday is I'll ask midwife to just inspect my cervix and see if anything's progressed- I figure if nothing's happening then can't have a sweep and it wouldn't be effective anyway and if things do look like they're progressing then I might as well leave it another 48 hours to see if my body decides to play ball on going into labour spontaneously!

I'm due Wednesday and have a sweep booked for that day. No sign of baby despite a show on Friday.

Good idea, the problem is we have all had enough but I guess they will come when they are ready.....let’s just thank our lucky stars we aren’t pregnant as long as elephants 😂😂😂 xx

Having mild contractions! Like very mild, hopefully they won’t stop though! Hope everyone is doing ok!
