Due today

So today is my due date, so far no signs of baby making an appearance. I’m just wondering what happens if I don’t go into labour?
I have a s&s booked with my midwife on Monday but if that doesn’t work, what next? Will my midwife book me in for an induction?

This is my 3rd baby but my previous two started labour on their due dates so I have no experience if I end up going over due!

Hi krakentoast welcome....that’s how we feel I thought something might have been happening, but false alarm have come to bed instead. X

mummabubs · 13/10/2017 21:45

Hiya @krakentoast, think I remember you from the October antenatal thread but might have made that up!! 🙈 Fingers crossed you see some movement soon!

I've got period-y aches (not contractions!), spent nearly an hour sobbing uncontrollably earlier and think I've lost a little bit of mucus plug in the last half an hour. Husband looks hopeful and excited but I've said until my waters dramatically go or I genuinely have contractions that increase in strength I'm not taking anything as a sign of progress! I've fallen for this too many times already in the last fortnight!!

krakentoast · 13/10/2017 21:49

Yes I was on the October thread a while back but couldn't keep up!

I'm symptom-spotting like mad and have been feeling very tearful and cross. It really does make your brain feel broken, all this waiting. I've had very mild period cramps on and off for two weeks now and nothing to show for it!

mummabubs · 13/10/2017 22:20

Same Kraken, I feel really jealous of my friends who went just before or like a day after their due date and literally just went into labour, no fuss! Five weeks ago I was told I'd have to stay in hospital for the rest of pregnancy and have a c sec at 39 weeks (which don't get me wrong, I'm grateful not to have turned out to be the case but I'd adjusted and accepted meeting our baby at 39 weeks)... fast forward and I've had several false starts since 39.5 weeks but no baby! In calmer moments I keep reminding myself that I can't stay pregnant forever... We will have our babies eventually!! 😂

GlitterSparkles17 · 19/10/2017 09:10

How are you doing ladies? Any babies yet?

OP posts:
mummabubs · 19/10/2017 11:46

No!! 😂😂😂 Still no baby!! I'm down for induction tomorrow and having felt very torn about whether to accept or wait it out a bit I think I might end up accepting (happy to give pessary a go; not so sold on this drip malarkey). Literally so fed up of the constant daily messages and the 'helpful' comments of "have you tried this...?" "My friend swore by doing this..." "No-one sticks to their birth plans anyway"- this last one seems to actually come more from people who got to stick to their birth plans! 🙈

How's your little one Glitter? Must be a week old tomorrow? X

mummabubs · 19/10/2017 11:48

(But is it wrong that even though I'm definitely preparing myself for dreaded induction I keep reminding myself of all the babies I know of who conveniently decided to come the day before their scheduled induction/c sec.... live in hope!!

GlitterSparkles17 · 19/10/2017 12:04

Well that’s exciting that you could possibly meet your baby tomorrow!! I was induced by pessary with my second baby and it worked straight away baby was out within 6 hours so fingers crossed for you!!

Yes he’s a week old tomorrow and it’s just flown! He’s doing really well I’m so in love with him!

OP posts:
mummabubs · 19/10/2017 14:02

That's definitely what I needed to hear Glitter! I know it's a bit different with first and second child but that's my main fear of induction- that it might take days to get anywhere! So glad you're enjoying time with your little one xx

Smith7 · 19/10/2017 20:40
