@TheLionQueen1 I was sure you would've had your little one by now, was thinking about you last night! That sounds so boring... The department must be really busy where you are! Fingers crossed for tomorrow :)

TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 08:54

So busy! Frustratingly they are coming round shortly to reassess priority so think we'll move even further down the list as no immediately risk. Think my only hope is waters breaking naturally but I'm not 40 weeks yet so not hugely likely!

lydiangel83 · 07/10/2017 10:04

@TheLionQueen1 argh I’d be frustrated! Have you got any magazines / tv to watch at least? Sorry if I missed it but what made them induce you in the first place?

TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 10:14

I've got plenty to do just still so boring!

I came in for slightly reduced movements and they picked up a lot of protein in my urine so have diagnosed with preeclampsia, it's gone down again since mainly but have had a few high blood pressures, so because of the risk and how quickly severe preeclampsia can come on and the dangers, they won't let me go until I've had baby. But because there's no worrying risk and baby is ok we also aren't a priority!

We're stuck really, have seen loads of people come and go already and the doctor has seen everyone apart from us. So frustrating!!

mrsjkerry · 07/10/2017 10:41

I’m confused now @TheLionQueen1. I thought your cervix didn’t dilate until you were in active labour. How can you be fully dilated without being in labour and baby ready to be pushed out?? Am I an idiot?

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 10:51

You aren't in labour until 4cm dilated, your cervix can dilate 1-3cm and be like that for weeks apparently! Confused

TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 10:53

It's not just about dilation the MW said it's also to do wth how ripe cervix is and where everything is sat, just because you're slightly dilated doesn't mean your waters will go or you'll go into labour imminently. It's all ridiculously confusing!!

mrsjkerry · 07/10/2017 11:30

Oh sorry I misunderstood. I thought you said you were fully dilated which! I know you can dilate very slowly over a few days and I know you can also de-dilate!!! 😄

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 11:45

Oh god I didn't know that!! Don't say that!! Confused

lydiangel83 · 07/10/2017 12:00

Oh @TheLionQueen1 I do feel for you id he climbing the walls! Surely they can’t keep you there much longer, for your own wellbeing! Would you be up for having your waters broken artificially? Maybe get DP/DH to have a word with the powers that be and ask for a timescale of how long they will let nothing happen for?

lydiangel83 · 07/10/2017 12:01

Ps yes does all sound very confusing!!

TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 12:10

That's what I'm waiting for @lydiangel83 for them to break them, but there's also 4 other ladies on this ward waiting, all at risk, more so then us, and at the same time normal labours are coming in so they can't move us up! They can't even guess with time, the MW said she was even in 4 days when she was induced with hers before they could take her up!

I'm hoping my waters break naturally and quicker then they'll have to fit me in!!

lydiangel83 · 07/10/2017 12:49

Ah ok sorry I missed that. How frustrating. Whereabouts in the country are you?

TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 14:26

Bristol, its just absolutely manic!

lydiangel83 · 07/10/2017 21:48

Ahh @TheLionQueen1 I’m from Bristol! I have been at Southmead quite a bit visiting unwell uncle but not there at the moment unfortunately! Last time I was there I said if I went in to labour at least I’d be born in the same hospital I was born in :)

lydiangel83 · 07/10/2017 21:49

*at least baby would be born, even!

TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 21:54

@lydiangel83 baby might not be if they're still closed 😂😂 Keep legs closed when visiting!! Are you having yours at southmead or have you moved away from Bristol?

lydiangel83 · 07/10/2017 22:19

No sadly moved away a while ago but family still there. I’m near Milton Keynes now. Guessing you’re still waiting? What is closed?

TheLionQueen1 · 07/10/2017 22:25

Central delivery and the MW led centre so everything! But they still have to accept emergencies so we're fourth on a list that isn't moving as emergencies keep coming in, just frustrating. Hopefully tomorrow!

Missonhartbaby · 08/10/2017 11:07

Anyone else near the end of their pregnancy been told the baby is back to back? I'm working on trying to turn him but how do I know if any of its working?!? It's so hard to feel for yourself! I'm nearly 39 weeks

ValentineFizz · 08/10/2017 11:38

Hi @Missinhartbaby yes I've been told this at last two checks, and like you am trying to get it to turn but not sure how or when I'll know! Movements up until now have been very obviously at the front and limb-like so I'm hoping if it turns I'll feel it's back instead?

MW told me that some turn in labour, like a kind of corkscrew effect once the head starts coming down, so think it can happen right up to last minute!

35+3 today so hoping plenty time to move - good luck with yours!

ValentineFizz · 08/10/2017 11:58

Sorry @Missionhartbaby typo!

Missonhartbaby · 08/10/2017 13:10

@ValentineFizz yea I'm hoping he'll just turn in labour to be honest, he moves around so much that sometimes I'm sure he's in the right position and then he'll move again so he's all limbs. I get alot of my kicks in the side so guess he must be sideways a lot of the time...im hoping the fact that he moves position a lot means he will get in the right one for delivery! Hopefully your LO will turn aswell when it's nearer to your due date, mines been in perfect position til now little monkey!! Good luck!!

Pranpreeya157D · 08/10/2017 17:29
